  1. I too am re-starting my weight loss journey, you are not alone!
  2. LOL! I so totally agree with each and every one of you! "They" just don't have a clue........I just have to hope that they mean well!
  3. They may look better after you shower, not quite so icky. Either way, you really should leave them on there until they fall off. Congratulations fellow bandster!
  4. Yay for you! A picture is worth a thousand words! You look great, keep up the good work!
  5. Congratulations! It's all about one day at a time, one event at a time and that is how we become successful! I have found that usually my worst fears reside only in my own head!
  6. Stay on top of that infection and I agree with Mis, you may need further testing and stronger antibiotics.
  7. I would say that you should consult your doctor. I am curious though, how long has this been happening and are you eating too much at one time?
  8. Sure! I like to think of myself as a foodie as well, and I have managed to be quite successful. I have also had a set back with some weight regain. My point is, if you follow the "rules" you can still be successful and plan, shop and cook to your heart's content. Promise. You just have to choose healthier choices and believe me, healthier, fresher food choices can be amazing. It was very hard for me in the beginning as I am originally from the Deep South and raised on country cooking and soud fool. Soooo good, unfortunately not always good for you! Take your time, don't be too hard on yourself and enjoy!
  9. Everyday. I have several of the Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD's, a step aerobics DVD, Wii Zumba and Wii Fit Plus. Whatever it is you decide to do, make it something you enjoy otherwise you won't stick with it. I do the majority of my workout/exercise first thing in the morning before "life" gets in the way. I have also started doing more at night when I get home from work. Best Wishes, you CAN do it!
  10. Yes, I have just recently completed the 5 day pouch test and I am happy to say it worked! I had never tried this since being banded, but definitely think it is well worth doing periodically going forward!
  11. Yay....congratulations! You are well on your way now!
  12. Sorry to hear that you are having such difficulties with your band. I am curious as to how a band that has been in place for 6 years can/would slip. I would think that after that length of time it would be firmly in place.....or have I just totally missed something? Good luck!
  13. Yes, everyone does lose at different rates. When I was banded back in 2009, I lost very quickly, losing 125 in 8 months. During that time, I felt great, my energy level was through the roof and did not experience any extreme hair lose. As long as you are feeling good, just enjoy your success!
  14. Yes, totally agree with talking to your doctor. I would imagine a lot would depend on how long a trip you take, size of the vehicle (bigger means you could stretch out some maybe), how your overall health is and HOW YOU FEEL. When you do go, have FUN!
  15. This does sound very good, may have to stop at the store on the way home for some shells! Thanks!
  16. Yes, I agree with GuyMontag, tuna salad might be close depending on what you put in it, but depending on what you put it in may have way too may calories.
  17. I am sorry to hear that you are having to go this this, I am sure being just 15 months out is frustrating. Hang. In. There. You can do this, until everythignis resolved, it may take more of an effort, again, you can do this. You have the "want-to" to lose weight or else you would not have had the surgery, as you know surgery is no the "easy out", it still requires work from you. You will jsut have to do your part a little more, but it will all be worth it in the end. Promise!
  18. Wow, never heard of them putting a corset on you after surgery. Smart, very smart. Like the idea of velcro too since you wouln't have to "shimmy" into it so soon after surgery. Best wishes fellow bandster on your new journey!
  19. Congratulations on your success! I have not ever heard of a band coming "unbuckled". I am anxious to hear from others on this one as well.
  20. ......and see that you don't! It's not worth it, at all!
  21. Got the chickpeas roasting now..........I'll be back later with the results!
  22. Oh my gosh, what a way to treat your wife. I think the posts above are right, he is scared that with weight lose, you will become more confident, you will get positive attention from others and he will be left in your dust cloud. Honey, you just hang in there, do this primarily for yourself, but your children as well. As anyone who has done what we have done know, this is not the easy way out, not by a long shot! You can do this with or without his support, see you have all of us! {{hugs}}
  23. Well, so I see we are kindered spirits as I tend to do the same thing. I will rehash it over and over and over until that is all I think about. Everyone that has commented is right of course, hold your head high and face everyone at work tomorrow with your head high. You are a very smart, articulate, funny, caring woman and frankly, **** happens. Make any amends that you HAVE to and move on. You got this! Don;t let this be a "reason" to fall into old eating habits tonight, that will only add insult to injury. {{hugs}}
  24. For lunch I had: tuna salad hard boiled egg some summer salad.....cucumber, green bell pepper, squash and tomato all cut up very small with just a tiny squirt of Italian dressing. dinner...absolutely no clue yet!
