I have noticed before in these forums the mention of a vitamin to use that works, but of course i didnt pay much attention because it didnt pertain to me at the time. So I was wondering if anyone knows what I can take for it?

I've been having stomach pain for about a week and I'm not sure why. It kind of feels like a lot of bloating and gas. I've tried hot ginger tea which always helps but not this time...the only thing different I've done is drink coffee after a couple of months with out it....I'm really worried and I hope it isn't a slip because I'm just beginning to lose consistantly (banded 3/7/13...-44 lbs)! :-(

My brother was planning to come for my surgery on July 1st, but now has an abscessed tooth causing him a tremendous amount of pain! He went for part 1 of the root canal today and will have to have parts 2 & 3 next week, so won't be here for my surgery. I am really alright with that, as I have others who have volunteered to be available for taking me to the hospital, checking on me, helping out, etc., since I live alone. I am mostly looking forward to just being in my house, my own space, and reaching out, as needed. My dogs will require me to get up and move around to take care of them, as since they are small, their care is not too taxing! My question is about t…

  10. I'd like to pose a question to those of you that have researched calories in, calories out. According to myfitnesspal, if you eat below 1200 cals a day and DON'T eat your added exercise calories, your weight loss will slow down because your metabolism slows down. If you subscribe wholeheartedly to theory of one pound equals 3500 cals and you have to create a deficit of cals each day to lose 1-2 lbs a week, then how can eating 1000 cals a day make you NOT lose weight? There is so much information out there and some of it is conflicting. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Well I knew it would happen eventually. After a spectacular weight loss, I've finally stalled. For the last three weeks I've been up and down a couple of pounds but can't seem to move the scale even though I've not changed my food intake or eating habits. I've been a little tempted to lower my calorie intake but I'm already at or around 1,000 calories a day and I don't think fewer calories will make a difference. Plus I eat healthy so it's not like I'd cut out any bad food choices. So...while this bit of a plateau is a little disappointing, I have to remember I've already dropped 67 pounds since January 1st and have to just power through this. I'm glad I'll be away…

Ok so, I have been totally fine with my band. Never had any huge issues. Last year I went in and had a port revision and tummy tuck. Now about 10-11 months later I go to the gastroenterologist for different problems. But they do an Upper GI Xray and they said the barium won't go down. Well that's weird because I really haven't had any problems. If I eat super fatty food I get a little acid. But prilosec takes care of it. And say if I eat really tough meat or Pasta (which gives us all problems anyway)...then I may get burpy or like I'm stuck. But I have been getting increased burping (really gross ones too, sorry TMI)...that's probably my only symptom. The xray tech and …

It is my intent to ask my surgeon and my primary about this, but I'm curious as to the rank and file's opinion. My surgeon told me to stop my insulin the night before surgery. My sugar numbers were bubbling under 100 pre-op. I was told to expect my sugar to spike wildly 12-18 hours post-op. That, indeed happened with numbers in the 210s (making it necessary for two insulin injections during my overnight stay in the hospital). This past weekend through two days ago, my sugar ranged from the 110s to the 130s. The past two days, I've pushed through to the mid-150s. I've taken in less than 1200 calories per day (less than 900 yesterday) on a largely liquid diet (Gluc…

So guys. I am loving being banded and I am awaiting my first full on 4th July but the restriction is pretty good already. Down around 35 lbs in like a month. I'm using myfitnesspal app and tracking my food and exercise. I'm consuming around 1200 per day but burning 400 with cardio exercise. My net calories are like 800/900 per day. The debate is this, I am eating healthy to a degree but also eating some fried foods and pizza but tiny quantities in comparison to what I used to hence the calorie intake and losing weight! Does it matter what kind of foods the calories are coming from as long as you are burning more than you eat???

  34. Love this quote that I read today: "The dieting industry the only profitable business in the world with a 98 percent failure rate." Each day I wake up so happy that I followed through with my decision to stop traditional dieting and seek a tool with a better track record and longterm success rate: the lapband. I remember in the days leading up to my surgery last March, I was feeling fearful and a voice in my head said "Hey, give Weight Watchers one last chance." Thankfully I stood strong. Had I not, I would be weighing more today than I did three months ago, I am certain of it. Instead, I weigh almost 30 pounds less. I don't see my banded life as a dieting life…

Question to those have been successfully banded. I lost about 21 lbs since June first. 10 of those was from my pre op. I have stop losing weight and at a stand still. Could it be because I need my band filled? I didn't have it filled during surgery. My first fill is on the 17th of July. My nerves are on edge because now I am thinking "what if I am in that small percentage that is not successful with the band". Should I be worried? Is this something that happens? Thanks
