  1. Donna you're scaring me. 15 months and still losing!? I am 7 months out. My hair started falling out month 4 and its still coming out. As of now i have no bangs left and have to wear a clip to keep what's left back. I had thick hair but it hasn't taken long for it to become very sparse and fuzzy is the best way I can describe it. I have been taking Biotin but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I asked the Dr about it and they just shrugged it off and said "it happens". I am only down 60 pounds and have lost this much weight in the same amount of time before and my hair never fell out, so i don't understand what's making it come out now. If its still coming out the way it is now for 7 more months i won't have any hair left.

  3. Hi Stephanie, i could have written your post! I am having the same thing happen to me. The first bite gets stuck right in my throat, but once it goes down, I don't feel anymore restriction and can pretty much eat anything. The only thing that slows me dwn is when I feel like that, but I still don't get a full feeling. I have 6.5cc in a 14cc band. I'm wondering how much more its going to take. Also to anyone who can help, is there a vitamin or supplement i can take for hair loss? It seems to be coming out a little more than usual.
  4. Hi everyone, I've noticed lately my hair is coming out a lot more than usual. I have noticed before in these forums the mention of a vitamin to use that works, but of course i didnt pay much attention because it didnt pertain to me at the time. So I was wondering if anyone knows what I can take for it?
  5. Hi Elwood, i count calories. I usually get between 800 and 900 a day. I notice when I dont eat all the protein I'm supposed to have i do not lose as much or sometimes any weight at all. I also track every day. For the past 3 weeks i have not kept track of what I have been eating and have not lost an ounce! I think because my daily calorie intake is so low it is so easy to eat too much, especially if you pick here and there. I think you should not be eating oatmeal for breakfast. You should have protein at every meal. I use egg beaters and they are not bad at all. Make an omelet with mushrooms or whatever you like. Try tracking if you are not now. I use the app " lose it". It's very easy to use. I am also not happy with how my scars look. I tried Maderma and vitamin E but they are still red and seem to be getting darker instead of fading. Good luck!
  6. I know how u feel. I have only lost 7 pounds in a month. I keep going up a pound down a pound, it seems like for weeks! I had my second fill on Tuesday which puts me at 6.5cc in a 14cc band. I dont really feel anything, just a lump in my throat when I start eating, but we are getting close. Weight loss has really slowed down so i guess it's time to start excercising!
  7. Hi, I am doing fine. Banded on feb 26, down 43 pounds so far. I had one fill at my 6 week visit. He gave me 5cc to a 14 cc band. Don't really feel any difference so to me its like I'm on any other diet. Some days are really hard and i can eat just about anything, nothing bothers me.....I'm hoping he will agree to give me another fill when I go back for my 3 month visit. Unfortunately my dr felt I was doing just fine losing so he didnt think it was necessary...but right now i don't feel like I'm getting the benefit of having the band. I would like another fill to make it a little easier.
  8. Hi Carole, I noticed your list of fills. I just got my first fill this week - 6 weeks post op. I got 5cc into a 14 cc band. I was wondering re your fills, why the first was 4 months out and then the rest a month apart? So far i don't feel any difference with the fill. Which is a little disappointing to me. I would like a little elp.
  9. Dont they have olive oil in a spray can or lite oo? I've never used it so i don't know how many calories but it has to be less then pouring.
  10. I use Lose it too but I never noticed the bar code scanner.....where do I find it? sara
  11. I use about 8 ozs skim milk, about 5 or 6 ice cubes and a banana. If i don't put the banana mine dont come thick either.
  12. I asked the dr today exactly how big is the pouch, and he said there isn't one until i have a fill....?.? The only time i struggled or felt uncomfortable was the first 2 days and now everything feels normal as if i don't even have the band. Nothing bothers me as far as what I have been eating. I only started on mushy foods and fish this week, buit before that I think all the cals were from canned soup, yogurt etc, i probably had more than 4 ounces and that's what is slowing me down. I read the link that Mis73 suggested and some of it described me and my feelings about wht the band should do, but I get it now!!
  13. I went to the dr today for my first visit since op on feb 26. I have only lost 10 lbs since then, which was a little disappointing to me. I told the dr i was watching calories and getting in all my protein. I have been eating about 1500 calories a day and he said no wonder you're not losing! I didn't know that was too much and he said It should be around 800. He said in about a month he will give me a fill. I told him I didn't feel full and feel hungry so he said its normal because i have no restriction now until I get a fill. I know this is going to be hard...how has everyone else fared during this period?
  14. Sorry, I don't get your response. .???
  15. Yes, I have lost more than 10 pounds n 2 weeks before. It's just a little disappointing to me considering I am not eating solid food, that's all. I'll get over it.
  16. Hi everyone, I was banded on Feb 26th. I started soft foods yesterday. Vegetables never tasted so good! Anyway, I don't feel full, I don't have a problem with drinking too fast and I'm wondering why? I've also only lost 10 pounds. I haven't seen my doc for my follow up yet, but is it too soon for a fill?
