When can I get a fill?

Hi everyone, I was banded on Feb 26th. I started soft foods yesterday. Vegetables never tasted so good! Anyway, I don't feel full, I don't have a problem with drinking too fast and I'm wondering why? I've also only lost 10 pounds. I haven't seen my doc for my follow up yet, but is it too soon for a fill?

Really it is totally up to your doctor. Everyone is different. Good Luck.

My Dr had me wait till I was 6 Weeks out. U have to heal. For now u r basically on a diet. It's hard for now, but will get better. Stick to the plan, u will do great!

Only 10 lbs? Have you ever lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks before?

You answered your own question with the fill comment. You will not feel full(and that's not the goal, satiety is the goal) until you get enough fills to give you adequate restriction. And you may always be able to guzzle Water.

My doc waits 6 weeks. Honestly, this is a time for healing not really weight loss. Keep reading....the veterans have great advice about this and PATIENCE has alot to do with it. This was hard for me to resign to...but I'm glad I did because it just helps me focus on what I need to be doing....which is ....eating slowly, taking small bites, choosing better foods, etc.

Have a great day!

Good advice Grasshopper!

This is the "Wax on, Wax off" stage of your journey.

Your doing fine! It take time but with every pound I lose I still wonder is it enough being banded in January myself I still have questions and wonders but I guess its normal my doctor waited four weeks before my first fill, and I cannot wait to get another on April 1 I feel like i am waiting on a xmas gift lol

Talk it over with the doctor. You seem to be doing well. Losing weight is a journey not a race, and it sounds like you are doing well. I waited for 6 weeks for a fill, and even that did not make me feel overly restricted. Eat the right foods in the right amounts and you will lose, fill or no fill!

Yes, I have lost more than 10 pounds n 2 weeks before. It's just a little disappointing to me considering I am not eating solid food, that's all. I'll get over it.

Renee doesn't realize she hijacked your thread.

Renee, you should start your own topic so more people will respond and see it?

Weight lost the first 6 weeks is mostly water loss. But all the drugs and fluids they pump into you during surgery can increase your weight. Also, liquids can contain calories, sodium, carbohydrates that make you retain fluids.

I apologize, I didn't realize that I was on a different subject. Thanks
