I am back after a few years off. Got a slight fill about 3 weeks ago, going back next week for another. I came across the 5 day pouch reset. I have never heard of this, although my drs nutritionist said I could go on a 2 week liquid diet for 2 Weeks. I was thinking it would be good to reset my pouch. I have not had too much restriction in a couple years at least and have dieted by doing south beach diet to maintain. I am going to start tomorrow and I'm excited at starting this journey once again!

if you have never or RARELY PB or slime? After reading all the blogs, I'm a bit worried about that. I am not down with vomiting or spitting up food. The slime sounds horrible. But I see it happening to people who say they are eating correctly. Who HASN"T had a problem with this, and what do you attribute your personal success of not having these complications?

I am 11 weeks post op and have lost 35 lbs and 11 inches off my waist! This was the best decision I've ever made. I was told I wasn't big enough to have the surgery. Now I look back at the pics and I was huge! Other great things happening- I got engaged June 13th and the wedding is in 2 weeks. I can't wait to walk down the aisle 35lbs thinner! These before pics were taken a week before surgery. I still have 30 lbs to go.

I am a 40 year old female. I'm 5 foot tall and weigh 181 lbs. My BMI is right at 35. I went in about a month ago and got pre approval from my doctor. It took about a month to get all the paperwork together and all the appointments, like the psych evaluation. The doctor submitted my forms via internet at 9 this morning and I was approved by 1:00. No joke. I am so excited, nervous, overwhelmed, and anxious. I have been fighting my weight since I was a teenager. The lowest I've been in my adult life is 163. I look at pictures of myself and don't even know who I am. I feel like there's a different person inside of me waiting to get out. That probably sounds dumb . My surgery …

I'm almost 3 weeks out of banding and am in the pureed diet phase. I was looking over my list of things that I can eat but have a question for you all. In the pureed diet phase can I eat anything as long as it is pureed? for example, my sister made a great pasta sauce/chili full of beans, tomatoes and garlic. I took maybe 1/4 a cup of pasta (just to firm up the pureed sauce) and half a cup of the chili/sauce and put it in my magic bullet, pureed it and ate it. I was thinking about it later and I got worried that maybe I somehow cheated. My list of pureed foods says oatmeal, scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, pureed soft fruit and some other soft things like that. Do you guys…

I am a little discouraged but I think it's temporary. I had my first fill on 1/5 and will have my second on 1/27. I don't have but a little restriction right now. It's a struggle. I am at eating 3 oz per meal but I have to say I could eat more. I still have a bad habit of picking in the afternoon. This is when I am home with the kids from school. I need to rearrange my protein shake I think. that may help. I hope when I get the next fill it will help. Anyone else feeling a little frustrated right no…

  17. Hi all! I was banded back in 2003, and it took me 2 years to reach my goal weight. Then came the great lap band slippage of 2005. I went for the corrective procedure and was told all was well, since then I have had nothing but trouble - I've regained 60lbs and can't seem to loose any of it. It's as though EVERYTHING I eat causes me to gain weight - even though my diet consists mostly of veggie Soup (cause its about all I can keep down) and I wake every night choking on reflux, not to mention the constant pain at the port site. So today i went back to my surgeon and as suspected, the band has slipped again. I've discussed my options with Dr.D and have decided the bes…

How do you guys get your calories...I find even tho im eating frequently during the day I get uncomfortably full when trying to get enough. I have been adding protein shakes to my diet to increase my calories but i find even those fill me up. I have a really hard time with raw veggies and most fruits so its hard to pack those kinds of things to work with me. Starches are impossible because they almost always get stuck. I guess im just having trouble being on the go and on such restrictions. I would love to hear what eveyone else is doing.

I am feeling really discouraged, I am having a hard time with portion control and I am getting into bad eating habits again (cake at birthdays, candy at movies, bread with all meals, etc.). It is really funny because I was one of those people in the beginning saying why would people mess up after having such a procedure and now here I am having those same problems. Today I had a mid morning meeting which I had to drive to and I have been very bad, I didn't stay for the lunch but came back to office and had the followings: 2 x low fat crackers 2 x slices of processed cheese 1 x small banana 1 x 55g bar chocolate ( I know ridiculous) 1 x 160ml fruit juice Nothing got stuck, and I don't do this every day, in fact I have lost 40lbs since 3/21/2013 but I do not think I am in the green zone.

Was hanging out with my (skinny) friend, looking in shops and whatnot. Ended up in Target with which I have a love/hate relationship. Their prices can be great but their sizing sucks. So, a short sleeved cardigan caught my eye. I handed my purse to my friend and said "I'm going to try this on but I know it won't fit." after all, it was a Large and I barely fit in XXL in that store. Well, imagine my shock when it slipped right on and fit comfortably even with my shirt underneath. Goes to show that when you aren't feeling like you're doing so great, you can be presently surprised!

There is so much talk about getting all the water in, and how important it is to avoid dehydration. Is dehydration a bigger issue when banded? Maybe this was touched on in all of my pre-op classes, but I don't remember. I only remember how important it is to get in 64oz of water daily. Just wondering why this may be more of an issue now, over pre-band. Dehydration is never good, but with all the talk about it here, I thought I'd ask if it's band specific.

I had a fill in March that probably was too tight. I just really focused on eating small bites and chewing. After a weeks it got better. I have not gone in for a fill since then because I get stuck fairly easily. About a month ago I began getting stuck on everything. I eat my yogurt...stuck. I cannot eat anything of any nutritional value. I thought going on liquids a few days would resolve this and it does help for about one meal and then I get stuck on everything again. I am now to the point that I am pretty miserable. I will call the doctor Monday morning. I am not a complainer so I did not want to go into the doc for every time I get stuck. I want this to wo…

The only time I've ever forgotten to eat is when I'm at my green zone, and I'm not at that point yet with my new band, so imagine my surprise when I left work today and my hands were trembling because all I'd had all day was a cup of unsweetened coffee. The thing is, I went shopping at lunchtime, and while in a suit shop I got a call from work, so I talked on the phone while wandering back to the office. I was distracted, so forgot to pick something up to eat, and didn't remember until I realised I was trembling after work. No hunger to prompt me at all. As bad as that was, it's one of the big signs that after almost 18 months, I finally have a working band again! An…

I hate to think how much money I spend on all of that. Now if only I had more clothes that fit me at this stage in my weight loss journey. It has been a slow steady process for me, not seeing the huge losses that some people are seeing. But, I'm still seeing progress.

Total loss ( no pre op diet) of 28 lbs! I got a fill and was a little nervous. It wasn't as bad as i thought! Found out at the time of surgery mr Dr put in 4cc in my band! They gave me 1 more, so I have 5cc in a 10 band! Felt good afterwards. Liquid all day friday and sat and today I can start mushies! So far so good! Hope you all are doing well!

I went to a wedding last night and was very aware after nibbling on a plate of food during the cocktail hour, that I had likely had enough. There was no soft stop, my band didn't object to anything I was eating...I just sorta figured it was time to stop so I could also partake of the dinner meal as well. At dinner, I treated myself to the filet mignon but had to cut a portion of it away so I'd know when I had enough. Same for the potatoes. I also made the choice to have one small taste of each of the dessert offerings....about four items in all. I did fine, and weighed in this morning as I do every Sunday and lost a pound this week. Now up to 71 lbs. lost..so I know…

Before getting my band I did not think I had an obsession with food. I just ate too much. WRONG! I am slowly coming to terms with my addiction to food because I was very much an addict as hard as that is to admit to myself. While coming to terms with this I realized I needed a distraction. Otherwise all I think about is food. So its time to break out the hobby drawer. Who has started a hobby to deal with the extra time that would be otherwise spent eating/cooking? Mine is drawing and reading.

Hi all. I have been banded for 4 years now. I have had reconstructive surgery to remove excess skin and at that time my port was put back into place, etc by the plastic surgeon. I have had no problems with soreness where my port is (other than when getting a fill). The last two days, my port site is VERY sore. I can't even run my hand over it (I have a very moveable port that is close to the top layer of skin, so you can really easily feel it). Even when I walk and the skin moves over it, it really hurts. Ay ideas why this would come up out of nowhere? Never had anything like this before.
