  1. Wonderful story, I have been banded since June 27, 2013 and have lost only a net loss of 3 lb. Yes, 3 lbs. do you have any tips to share with me? a lot of people talk about the green zone but I don't know if I ever will reach that point. Congratulations on your sucess and hope one day I can say the same. One of the reasons I am not loosing weight is because I have a low thiroid but, it is frustrating. Any suggestions will be greatily appreciated. Thank you, Maria

  10. Yes, Cari es nice and easy going. You can e mail her and she responds quickly. I was banded by Dr Nirmul on June 27, 2013 and my husband got banded today by the same dr. Good luck.
  11. True Results (if they are in your area) will finance $5,500 if Care Credit denies.
  12. Nifty, They recommended to only walk for the first month or so until you go to your follow up visit. Irishflower, I am interested if we could find a day/time that works for most of us. I am off on Saturdays and Sundays, I live in Chandler.
  13. I went through TR, got my surgery on June 27; I've lost about 20 lb. during my liquid diet (10 days, 7 pre-op and 2 post -op) and have not loose any more since then. I went to my first follow up last week and they told me that I can start exercising, so I am sure this will help. I am interested on joining your coffee group because I can not attend the one at True Results due to my work schedule. I am doing great as far as eating a lot less than what I used to eat.
  14. Thanks Missy, I always enjoy reading your posts and replies.
  15. I am confused, At my Dr. office they said that the "pouch" is not to hod food and that it is just a passing trough, that food should never stay/sit in there because it will stretches the esophagus and will eventually the patient start having problems with acid reflux/GERD etc. According with some post that I've read, you eat small amounts to fill the pouch and once it is full then you feel full and the food slowly moves to the big part of the stomach and that is the reason not to drink water. Which version is correct?
  16. You will do gret, just take it one day at the time. The first day is the worst as you will be having withdrawal from sugars. Good luck!
  17. I agree with Missy, I lost 20 lb. in 10 days, 7 days pre op liquid diet and two days of clear liquids after surgery and I have not loose any more since then, so it's been almost 4 weeks with no loss, I am focusing on eating the right food and eventually the way will come off. It could be that my body think it is in a starvation mode because I am not consuming more than 800 cal per day.
  18. my Dr. said was 30 to 45 minutes.
  19. It takes a long time to get your Water since you have to take one sip at the time but it is important to do it otherwise you'll get dehydrated. One day I felt like getting dehydrated and it took me about an hour to take 32 oz of water. I keep a glass of water all the time and take a few sips every 30 minutes or so. Good Luck!
  20. Best thing to do is walk, the night of my surgery I was in a lot of pain and discomfort and I went for a walk around the block 3 times and got a massage the next day (gentle and only on the showlder) and that really helped me; the best think to do is walk as much as you can. My first few days I was walking 3 to 4 times a day.
  21. I did, try a massage, it is the only thing that really helped me. **** Luck!
