First Fill Today
I has surgery on Aug 14, I was feeling like I might not need fills at all either, but it seems that once the swelling goes down..the hunger comes...although I have been losing close to 2 lbs per week. I just got my first fill Sat, but I hope to not need many fills

It sounds like you recently got banded if your just starting to eat solid food? I was banded on Aug 14 and I still get soreness at my incisions when I sit for a long time and by the port and in the muscle area of my left side. My doc says its normal. Think about it, if you just recently had surgery -- those areas have to have time to heal, its not just the outer visible area that is healing. Well, thats my two sense, but as always call your doc if your concerned. Good Luck on losing those 23lb! I am right behind you at 22lbs lost! 50 to go!

Had my 1st fill yesterday
Based on my experience, you should be ok by tomorrow, try to hang in there, I am not clear on if this will happen every single time, but my mind tells me its because things are still healing in there, we just had surgery last month!, so maybe things are still tender, I would think that the more time passes the less likely that is to happen -- but heck I don't know. Maybe some of the more experienced bandster can advise...Glad you mentioned this because I thought I was imagining it or really getting sick! but then it passed!

Had my 1st fill yesterday
I had my surgery on Aug 14, first fill on Saturday, and I swear I felt body aches and a bit crampy for about 36 hrs after almost flu like -- and then I was fine. Not sure if that is what you are experiencing though.

- To fill or not to fill....
Thank you, I am starting to realize that much of this journey is personal, every experience may be different. I still am scheduled for a fill on sept 21 and depending on how things go until then maybe I will get a very small one. I will def follow the advice to talk to my doc and/or nut and see what there thoughts are! I appreciate your response !- To fill or not to fill....
You know I do appreciate all of the responses, I read through many post and know a few people with the band and the majority of them are in a huge rush and aggressive with getting fills, but I really don't feel that way although I understand why some might feel that way. I just want to lose 50lbs, there is no function coming up or deadline, I just want to see the scale consistently moving downwards and make healthy choices why losing -- that truly is all that I want. But then when I read others posts I question if am thinking wrong or am I lacking motivation or something? I just don't want a quick fix -- been there done that. I want slow healthy weight loss with limited complications.
