  3. I eat mostly egg whites, chicken, veggies. Do treats I have brown rice crackers or low carb ice cream. I don't drink anything with calories and I don't drink with my meals.
  4. I get that I'm not supposed to be stuffed. I try not to eat more and generally I don't, but I got a band for a reason. I should feel less hungry.
  5. Do you feel full with small amounts now?
  6. I'm going for my fifth fill this week. So frustrated. I haven't lost any weight but I maintained. I'm less hungry between meals but that's not what I need the most. I need to feel full or satisfied when I'm eating and that's not happening. I can eat I ton. I try not to buy I could. I eat slower and chew more, but that's it. Is this normal? Will this work for me?

  10. I had bypass, lost 110, gained 40 and got the band, lost 8, gained 5, so I'm basically stagnant. I just found out I have hypothyroidism, but I know if I were eating less I would lose. I've had two fills, the first fairly large. I don't feel it though. I could chug water in the office post fill.
  11. You are a blessing. I really needed that. No one has said to me that they were lost post surgery and then got found! Specifically with the calorie/volume thing anyway. I don't want to be a failure. Especially since I was self pay and this is my last resort. Not giving up!! Thanks for the luck me up.

  13. OMG. I so needed this. I really almost teared up. I was banded in may. I get stuck on chicken but otherwise I'm hungry all the time and can eat large portions. I try not to, but if I could do this on my own, I would have. I hope I'm in your shoes soon. Keep me updated!!

  15. Thanks ladies. I'm not making 1200- closer to 1400. Shouldn't be so bad since I'm getting 5 hours of cardio in a week but I have no metabolism. Anyway, thanks. I needed to hear that pre-green feels like nothing. I need hope!! I have so much will, but not so much willpower with food. That's why I need a tool!
  16. How long does banister hell last? I'm about three months in. Other than getting chicken stuck, I don't feel like I have a band. I'm exercising 5 days a week...a lot...but I know I'm eating too much. If I could dirt successfully without help, I wouldn't have gotten the band. Is this feeling of hopelessness normal? Does the green zone really change things that dramatically? Help!!
  17. Yes. I can get fills for free from my surgeon in Mexico. The problem is getting there. I've had plastic surgery in the US and in Mexico and I had better care in Mexico. Complications are a significant concern, but surgery in the US wasn't an option.
  18. I have no evidence to support this- just what I read when researching- a lot of people with realize said they had trouble feeling restriction because its so low pressure.
  19. I have my first follow up tomorrow...but not with my lapband surgeon...with my bypass surgeon. I had bypass in 2008, got to my happy place, and then gained 45 lbs. I went to Mexico and got band over bypass. My stoma was enormous and I was hungry all the time. I tried and failed over and over again, trying to lose the regain. I went to Mexico for band over bypass. I called my local surgeon before I left and generically asked if they do fills for patients who didn't have the band there...they said yes. So I'm hoping tomorrow they follow through. I'm so worried. I'm eating like I was pre band. I guess this is banister hell. I'm always hungry. I hope I don't fail at this...I hope the band works for me...so nervous! Prayers, positive vibes- Whatev! Please send help. Lol :-) Thanks for listening.

  22. I hate to say this but I'm pessimistic about doctors- it doesn't sound like he's in your corner. He may be great otherwise, but if he doesn't believe the band can work and he's your mechanic, things can never run smoothly.

  25. Weight is NOT calories in calories out. Sorry! I say that with all due respect but metabolism is one of the most complicated things on earth. The same calorie foods may be digested differently- how they raise/lower blood sugar, cause cellular inflamation, contain Fiber, etc. That being said, its really easy to eat more than you record- an extra spoonful here, tast there. Be honest with yourself. Eat low glycemic, non processed foods and especially avoid sugar and bread of any kind. If you kept your exercise the same, change it. Your body adapts. You either need new type or higher intensity. M And as the above poster said, its possible to retain 5 lbs in Water. Best of luck!!!
