Hi I'm 53 yrs old and live with my little dog and I would love to have a few bariatric buddies. We can meet sometimes if you're local or just talk on the phone no matter where you live. I believe it would be a win win situation. I was scheduled for March 27 after I decided to have RNY but then I changed my mind after going to a mandatory seminar & decided to have VSG instead. Then my concerned doctor called hoping he could change my mind back to RNY but I really want the VSG & unfortunately, less than a week later my dated was pushed all the way back to May 8 plus an additional meeting with the dietitian!!!! I just couldn't believe it because my dad who's my only …

I had VSG on 12/6 and I feel like I should have lost more by now.... I'm down 50 from HW and 30 since surgery. Am I on track? Should I be down more? I feel like at times I eat too much...Some times I get full so fast.... It's frustrating! Anyone else feel this way?

I got sleeved yesterday 02/28! Just got home and I am so excited for this journey. Surgeon discovered a hernia on the EGD so that was also repaired yesterday. This has caused more abdominal pain. I also have lots of gas in my chest. I started walking at 3 am and continuously throughout the day. Let's do this! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi everyone! So excited for my weight loss journey and thought it'd share it here. I'm 22 years old and had gastric sleeve surgery on January 11 of this year. Today marks my one month since surgery and it excites because I've lost 28 pounds successfully. I'm up to date with my Water intake, exercising (weights included), and my Protein. Also, would like to share that I ate sushi and everything went well! Since, I went to the gym this morning and did a high intense work out. I felt like I needed to be fueled an hour after drinking my 35g of protein. Sushi suited very well for me and was able to eat 4 rolls (I was very hungry). I did not eat them all at once. I ate…

Looking for some reassurances here. Lol Fought weight issues all adult life. Friend and I have talked about WLS for years. Thursday Feb. 23rd we went to a doctor who does WLS. I did like what the doctor had to say and decided to go ahead with the gastric bypass surgery. Insurance has an exclusion for morbid obesity surgeries so I am a self pay client. Due to work schedule I called on Friday Feb. 24th and asked if I could have surgery by March 3rd. I went that afternoon and had my mental exam and a stress test. Surgery is a go for Friday March 3rd. I have started my liquid preop diet and getting prepared mentally. Couple questions I have, has anyone else…

Aww man im so nervous about this procedure and how it will affect my life. So heres my story for those who care to listen. I have been a big guy my whole life regardless of exercise. My family is majority heavy on both sides, Mom and Dad. However through it all we have been mostly healthy. I myself have been playing football my whole life, of course as a linemen. However after finishing college and missing my shot at the pros im still pretty active. Currently I work in law enforcement but my weight continues to rise. In college my playing weight was 390 pounds. When I graduated I went to a whopping 480 pounds. I then joined weight watchers and dropped 150 pounds so I was…

I stop weighing in a month ago. The results are in the new sizes I wear and the difference in my before and progression pictures. I am not at my goal yet, but eventually I will get there. I feel better and over all health is better. I thank my doctors for the surgery because I had a real hard struggle with losing weight. There has been many bad days but the good has certainly outweighed the bad. Keep pushing and believe in what you want. I am too excited to contain myself any longer!! I am 47 years old, 5'-4", and my heaviest weight was pre-op at 191lbs. I am aware that most people would say that I didn't need weight loss surgery, but here is my story: I have struggled to be a healthy weight since my first of two children was born in 1995. I was on a yo-yo of dieting until now. 7 years ago I decided I would get in shape for my 40th Birthday. I dropped 50lbs and was doing P90x like a wild woman. I dropped a few more pounds and weighed 124lbs. On New Year's Day a friend of mine texted me a picture she took of me and my husband the night before, and I was a little shocked. My face was too thin and I…

I started to taking my classes in January. While we thought insurance would ask for 6 months of classes and such I thought a jump start on it would be great. Well turns out my insurance didn't have any hoops for me to jump threw and the clinic moved my date to March 28th!! This has caught me soooo unprepared, worried, stressed, and a lil excited. I have less than 3 weeks to figure everything out as to food, work, when I can travel, I feel like my life needs put on hold and I don't have the power to do so. My starting weight was 327 lbs. In 5 weeks I pre-op diet I am 312. At this very moment I am battling myself to keep up the good decisions because I feel like every meal…

I was sleeved on 2/10. So far I've lost 24 lbs. I'm having emotional issues with not being able to enjoy the foods I once did. It gets a lot harder when your loved ones stand or sit in front you, crunching away (loudly I might add) on one of your favorite snacks. Even after asking them to stop. Today I just feel like crying.

I finally have a surgery date of March 28th. It still seems so far away. I have had a pretty easy journey so far. I did all my pre surgery testing and I just finished my last dietician group meeting. Now I just wait till surgery. I did receive my 2 week pre op diet. I am glad we have the option between protein shakes and actual food. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I am 5 lbs blow my intended goal weight when I bought and paid for the surgery myself. Went to Wal Mart and bought myself a pair of Wrangler cargo pants in waist size 36 inches, which I haven't worn since high school, about 47 year ago). The surgery was about 3 years ago and I plateaued for about 1-1/2 years, but be patient and let this new discipline guide you through and you will be amazed where it will lead you!!!!

The hardest thing of my journey has been the psychological stressors and the societal pressures that I was totally unaware of when I was heavy. Often times you feel that you're being misstreated however finally being on the side of a thin person versus a heavy person made me realize the stark difference. Little subtle things that you normally wouldn't think about, such as when you get ready to walk into a business and someone actually holds the door for you. However when I was heavier sometimes I would almost get hit in the face with the door because someone rudely just let it slam. And this is just not with the opposite sex, it also happens with women. This …

I had surgery on Monday 2/27 and was in a lot of pain. More gas pain then anything and slept most of the day. I was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday 2/28. I have been doing very well with being at home. The Atkins protein shake is very good and I recommend. I'm now trying a little bit of sugar free jello. This is a hard journey but is so worth it in the end

First day home. I must say I was a little naive about what i would face at home. For starters, Im 6' tall and all of our furniture isnstandard.... (short) . In the hospital i could lift or lower the bed, so i had minimal pain. After bieng home for 1 night, I discovered that i need the pain meds more rhan i did in the hospital. It has been harder for me to move at home. Getting on and off the couch is torture. Hoing to the rest room is a major accomplishment ineeded help getting in and out of bed. On a positive note, I have been able to get almost 2 shakes in yesterday and 1 and a half bottles.of Water. I just wasn't prepared for the pain of moving aroind at.home.

I had my sleeve surgery on January 30th. In October I weighed about 450 lbs. I have lost about 65 lbs since then. I was using a cane and a walker before surgery. The Friday before surgery I fell in the tub trying to get out. I had to call the paramedics to pull me out of the tub and take me to the ER. I ended up with a sprained foot and knee. So now I am not only recovering from surgery, I am struggling with mobility when I wasn't very mobile in the first place.

I never thought I would feel this way!!! I just left my two weeks post surgery follow up and only down 10lbs. Talk about super disappointed!!!! I am Literally in tears. I used to be 400lbs and have been on diets all my life and lost at a rate alot faster then this. I am trying to stay motivated and continue this path but so hard when you see others lose close to 20lbs in the same time frame. Please tell me this will get better!!!

This entire time I've been beating myself up because I feel like I either haven't lost as much as I feel as though I should have...or I'm not seeing enough changes. And then I compare pictures like this! Slowly but surely I'm getting there!!! About 10lbs more until I get to my short term goal! HW: 274 SW: 262 CW: 232 VGS: 11/17/16

I was banded 2/12/2008. I never did lose any weight. It was mostly because I worked around my band and learned how to eat the way I was eating before the band. Stupid, I know. My head wasn't in the game. Psychologically I wasn't ready to commit. 2/16/2014, I had all the fluid taken out because I was experiencing Acid Reflux and it scared me. I got up to 220 lbs and was absolutely miserable. Recently decided it was time to commit. I've lost 6 lbs by eating correctly and today I have an appointment for a fill. I have to go to a new Dr. because mine retired. I'm super embarrassed by my failure but decided to get past the embarrassment and get a fill and work with a new Dr. t…

I have been on my liquid diet 4 days now surgery is March 1st. I'm so scared. I slipped and ate some chicken last night. I was doing so good until I was asked to cook last night for my girls and my husband. I know I shouldn't have but nobody is perfect. Has anyone post or Pre op gone through this?
