Honestly, I get tired when I think about telling my story, even though I'm just a year post Gastric Bypass. But now I have decided to start a blog about my trials and tribulations with WLS. Feel free to read it here: http://peaceloveproteinshakes.blogspot.com/ Thank you all for your time and consideration. Have a great day! Peace always, Vanessa

I had surgery July 26th, 2016 making me about 6.5 months post op. I have felt great, but find myself struggling. I am down a total of 75 pounds and have gone from a 24 or snug 22 to a 16 in bottoms and 2x/3x to a Lg/XL. I have hit several stalls along the way and it's frustrating. I often find myself falling into old habits, but do my best to correct myself. Even during my stalls, I can feel the inches coming off which is something I had to change in my mindset. I need to stop worrying about the pounds so much and as long ands I'm losing inches, I feel like I must be doing something right. I feel like I should be down a lot more, but I keep reminding myself where I starte…

I started the liquid diet today. So far I'm doing really well. I had a premiere protein shake(caramel) I added 1 scoop of genepro and topped it off with some coffee. That took me up until a little after 10 a.m. I started at 8:30 a.m. I'm not hungry but I have some Gatorade2 lime that I've been sipping on. I have some jello for lunch. I'm not supposed to start the diet until next Wednesday on the 22nd. However, I want to start early so that I can get the most out of my sleeve. Surgery is on March 1st. Hi All! I'm getting sleeved next month. I'm beyond excited and cannot wait for the day to arrive. Been obese all my life. Never in my 42 years have I even been in the 'overweight' category so this is something that I'm even looking forward to. Lap band in '04 got me from 360 to 210, had it removed due to complications in 2014 and have gained sooooo much of my weight back. I'm excited to start the journey of getting my life back and maybe, just maybe, getting to the 'overweight' category at last or even dare I say, a normal weight range. I'm so ready for this. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not alone. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I just wanted to share my experience. I was a neurotic daily weigher for about 15 months post surgery. And this far out it's no more honeymoon. For the past two weeks I have not stepped on the scale. I feel much calmer and peaceful. I'm not obsessing about my numbers on scale hence I'm not getting upset as much and having negative thoughts about my WLS journey. These days I have amped my workouts and I can feel my muscles toning. And it motivates me to keep working out harder and eat right.

Starting over for me is hard. I was sleeved in late 2014 (age 44). I have lost 67 pounds as of 1/17/2017 that have stayed off. I need to lose 57 more pounds to be at my goal weight. I had a lot of things going on. I left me behind. I want to be healthy. For me that equals, working out, planning and recording meals and with no more excuses. This is hard. I am going to get it done. My last start over. I will get my goal as my health is vital. I am open to any suggestions positive . This is truly humbling.

Hi everyone, I'm a 29 year year old male from London and have always struggled with my weight from childhood. When I was in college I probably looked my best but was still weighing around 230 pounds which is obviously overweight but life was ok...I had a girlfriend (she was hot ????) my weight didn't restrict me from most things (I would be able to go to the cool clothing stores and usually get into their larger size jeans and t shirts). Once I started working in an office environment full time, which I basically have done for the last 8 years my weight ballooned up to the point I kind of gave up on it and gave in resisting the krispy kremes. So I just wanted to see what you guys thought of my progress so far and if anyone had a similar experience.. My start weight was 230 pounds. I was sleeved on Aug 25 and as of today I weigh 195 pounds. It just seems like I am progressing very slowly .. I am following a low carb diet making sure I'm below 1200 calories and exercising 3 hours a week... What do you guys think is my progress within normal? I tried talking to my nutritionist and her recommendations were to just stick with what I am doing and I should see results soon enough. Thoughts??? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No I haven't been fat all my life. Just the past 20 years and I'm 52 now. Why I decided to have lap band? I am stubborn. I know all the right things to do. Eat right and exercise was something I knew exactly how to do. I just didn't want to do it. I was married with two great kids. I got around just fine. Clothes looked "ok" on me. And I was comfortable with my self. But one day I got scared. I thought about how lucky I was to not have any serious health issues. I was 50 and had perfect blood pressure. No diabetic problems. No muscular problems. And I thought one of these days all that is going to change. After all I have a horrible history of all those problems with both…

I only lost 4lbs in the month of January. Everyone around me says I am losing weight but I don't feel it. I decided to put pictures together side by side to really see for myself if I am losing and I am. I am happy with what I see! I had already done a ton of research and decided that the sleeve was for me, but he concurred and stated that it would be best for me, considering my age, lack of diabetes, and no tobacco use. But I see myself daily so I TRULY don’t comprehend the magnitude of changes that my body has been through. I focus on the fact that I feel incredible, I’m happy, I’m not ashamed to run into one of my husband’s coworkers and everyone just think of me as the “fat wife”. When my 7 year old hugs me now he can clasp his hands together behind my back and squeeze me tight… that right there makes all of this worth it. Before it could get to the point of needing a pacemaker I made the decision to have gastric sleeve surgery. This would illuminate or reduce the severity of my diabetes.
