  1. Hi All, This is my first post...so I thought I'd share my story so far with you. I am starting my 5th week post surgery. Chose to have my op abroad in Czech Republic because I wasn't getting any help from my GP. I was fed up of the comments from the GP too and the price in the UK for Bariatric Surgery is extortionate. So took matters into my own hands. If anyone is thinking of going through Beautiful Beings I would highly recommend them. There isn't many reviews for them online though. Apart from a guy called Josh who posted weekly videos about his journey. You have a representative that's with you the whole way. When I say whole way I mean they talk to you get to…

  2. Although I am doing this for myself and I started this all alone. By alone I mean I chose to be alone at the hospital. I chose to be alone post surgery. A handful of people were aware of my intentions to have surgery. But I chose to go through all my consultations, appointments and surgery alone. Even chose not accept rides to and from hospital with anyone. I don't feel alone anymore. I have a wonderful boyfriend who supports my health and fitness goals and encourages me with his positive vibes. He himself has been Mr. Fitness all his life. It's good to have someone who supports you without judgement. I am grateful our paths crossed and he has become an integral part o…

As a kid I had been heavier but then in my teen years I had lost all my weight and almost looked way to skinny. After I turned 18 I gained a ton of weight from depression and I'd fluctuate weight as I'd lose 50 lbs when pregnant but then all the weight came back after having a baby. Now after 3 babies I am 275 lbs and the heaviest I have ever been. I'm miserable as I can't keep up with my kids who are 7,5, and 1. I'm scheduled to have surgery February 9 and I've been fighting the anxiety from having surgery and how my kids will react from me being limited to what I can and can't do right after surgery. I know I need this surgery more then ever but I always put everyone e…

I got married August 14th, 2016 to the love of my life Cody. He is a daycare teacher & I work jewelry sales in walmart. We are both slowly making steps toward bettering every aspect of our lives. Just in November I recieved my high school diploma. Just last week we discovered Cody lost over one hundred pounds since we started this journey. I had lost 78 and it's slowly going back up. He started at 450lbs even & is now at 323.7. When we started this journey two years ago it was because I was diagnosed with L…

Eat High Protein * Baked/Grilled ** chicken ** Turkey ** lean meat ** Fish * Fresh or steamed vegetables * Fresh Fruit NO Carbohydrates!!!! I did pretty good. I really don’t know if this is normal or if I am just lucky but on day five I feel a lot better. Gas pains have subsided, got a little more sleep, and any pain I’ve been having seems to be general soreness at the incision site and a little pain if I move faster than I probably should. I didn’t do anything special for the gas pains, just try to keep moving and the hint from James Marusek on sleeping in a recliner for a little bit seems to be a big help. I haven’t felt like I had to take any pain meds and in all honesty I’m getting a little claustrophobic so I think I’m going to head outside a little later this evening. My primary food right now is still water and Jell-O, b…

Had my surgery January 5, was released from the hospital 8 PM January 6. I’m sore, as to be expected, but honestly not that bad. My biggest complaint so far has been the gas pains, I know walking is supposed to help a lot but Philadelphia just got hit with it's first few inches of snow for the season so going outside is not the best option at this time, so I’m trying to walk back and forth at home as much as possible. Right now I can only lay down and sleep for about two hours at a time because of general discomfort, I don’t think it’s bad enough to take the pain medicine I was prescribed, plus I understand that the pain meds can slow your bowels down, and that’s the last…

I took my first steps towards gastric sleeve in February of this year, 2016. The process was a bit of a nightmare, and I was denied by my insurance the first time around. Once I did finally get my approval, it was so late in the year that I just knew that my surgery wouldn't be until January at the earliest. Which was very depressing because that would mean that my insurance out-of-pocket maximum would start over, and that would cost us thousands extra. But my surgeon Dr. Shadle gave up his holiday vacation time to ensure that myself and many other patients got their surgeries before the end of the year. I cannot say enough good things about my surgeon. If any of you…

When I was considering this procedure, I was curious about low BMI results, and had been told to expect slow losses. I started out with a BMI of 32 the day of surgery. Surgery went extremely well with a very easy recovery. By two week follow-up visit, had lost 20lbs, and at nearly 6 weeks, a total of 31lbs lost. This was the best decision of my life! I had lost a bit over 100lbs with diet and exercise, then stalled for six months with no progress prior to surgery. Finally on the move again! I have 26lbs until a healthy BMI. Just wanted to encourage any who may be on the fence, and see what other relatively low BMI people have experienced. Most other threads I found were s…

I follow my dietary restrictions from the doctor, I'm currently on puréed phase. I get all my 64oz of Water in.. I get at least 50grams of Protein in daily. I do the recommended exercise. I am a French guy of 42 years old living in Spain (Barcelona) and I have been fighting with overweight my entire life. I am currently at 280 but went up to 350 several years ago (for 5 ft 11). I have been told my entire childhood to finish my plate, so no waste (and also the dish, so no left over, right?). I am also an epicurean and enjoy food, cooking, craft beers (favorite one is from a US microbrewery) and of course wine. Hello everyone, I hope this post finds you well. I had my surgery 3 days ago on Jan 9th with Dr. David Suh in SoCal. I had mixed emotions on proceeding with the surgery mainly because of fear of not making it through the surgery and not being there for my kids. Luckily with my husband's support and doctor's confidence, I felt assured that everything would be fine. Upon waking from surgery I had the typical nausea symptoms but not significant pain at the incision areas (morpheme works wonders). As my stay at the hospital progressed I felt better. Walking helped tremendously with getting the gasses out of the abdominal area. I am now finding that the real efforts with sta…

Hi my names Jennifer, I'm 18, a type 1 diabetic and I had my surgery on 5/18/16. I've lost 65 lbs. and I haven't lost anymore weight in the past few months. I'm only able to eat about 8 ounces at a time like I'm supposed to but my weight goes up and down every day. I am a college student and "healthy eating" isn't always the easiest thing. It just bums me out how my scale will tell me I'm heavier than I was the day before. I aIso get hungrier faster after Snacks or meals throughout the day and was just curious if this happens to anybody else. I'm really new to the app and would just like any advice I can get. Thanks! 33. So I hit 1 year post op last month. Here is my story. Right before my 30th birthday I decided that enough was enough. I had been on the waiting list with my ex-husbands insurance for gastric bypass, then we divorced and I lost my spot anyway. I had lost aprox. 60 pounds on my own after the divorce through lifestyle changes, mainly cutting soda (a huge addiction to me at the time) and being more active, these small changes helped a lot because of the extreme sedentary life I lived during my stint as a house wife (with no kids). After losing the 60 pounds I got down to about 215 but jumped back up to 235 pretty quick. My ideal weight -I thought- was about 200 maybe 195 an…

I was told I had esophageal spasming making it difficult for me. This however, did not buy me any consideration in the required water intake. I re…
