Update: spouse left 4 days after surgery.

  • Popular Post

Hi, wanted to Thank all those back after I had my sleeve surgery on 09/19/16 & 09/23/16 my husband left me. The we'll wishes really got me through some had times cause would read them when I needed a boost. I originally thought he left due to a drug issue. I thought we would work out if he got help but didn't work out that way. I found out by doing some investing that over our last 3 1/2 years of part-time nursing school -he cheated on me while in class at night after working full time, & on clinical weekends with multiple women. I really struggled after finding this out for awhile with getting Vitamins every day, enough Water, but did Protein drinks for Breakfast & still do for protein amount. I got through things & doing so much better. I found out Friday also that I will be graduating nursing school. I work with claims dept for the hospital I had surgery at now. I hoping that after I pass my state exam I when take in few months I can get,a job on the baratric floor for surgery patients. I would love that even more then anything. I am writing this update so if anybody else loses their spouse after surgery -keep chin up because it will get better. Sleeve surgery on 09/19 was one of the best decision of my life. I filed for divorce & he signed papers last week, graduating nursing school from long part-time road, & am down around 50 pounds since surgery. I feel better then I have in such a long time -it is amazing how surgery can change your life for the better. I enjoy exercising, walking dogs & energy level is so much higher now. Plus hearing how well you look from others is huge boost to everyone. I hope nobody ever has to go through what I went through, but if anything hard happens in your life post surgery hang in there. Hang in there, keep chin up because trust me your life & overall health will get better & what a blessing in the changes. I do feel very, very blessed in my life again.

Hugs. I went to RN school mid life while working full time. Divorced while doing my pre reqs. It took some time but I met the guy who is the perfect match for me and we're deliriously happy.

Sorry this all came down right when you were dealing with surgery and all, but you made it through RN school you'll make it through this. Best of luck with the boards and the job hunt!

Just wanted to add my support. You go gal!!

As someone who is divorced as well, I can tell you life gets better as we respect our own needs. I'm grateful to be divorced and in a relationship that fits me better.

My ex used to tell me to go on a diet, and then when I would, he would buy a box of candy for me. When I did OA and the kids were little, I was eating no sugar no flour and he took up baking as a hobby. Cakes and pizza, for goodness sake.

My kids are grown, my boyfriend is my biggest cheerleader, and I am blessed beyond compare. I am loved no matter what size and what decisions I choose to make for me.

Happy Holidays, and a blessed New Year in store for you!!

As a male who is single and dated heavy and more normal weight I will tell you it is much easier when you are a healthy size.

Take time to heal, get your mental and physical health back. In a year or so, poke around the relationship pool again. You will go at it with a new confidence. Your "crazy" detector will be better this time. All I can say is "trust me" because I've been there and have several t-shirts to prove it.

It's is awful that I want to say CONGRADULATIONS ON losing 50 pounds+ the weight of your soon to be ex?

God luck on your boards. I think that having RNs who have had WLS working on Bariatric Units is a great idea!

Thank you. Plan on taking the NCLEX state exam in PA where I live in February after finish up an online prep course (ATI) so pplan to pass first try, going to give it my best. I had talked to the nurse manager on the floor while I did my laps every 4 hrs after surgery. In my hospital when you when you reached 16 laps it equalled a mile -I was determined to reach it -did 18 before I got discharged. But while I lapped I knew things were going down hill with husband. He was suppose to stay with me overnight & not leave. He left twice once 2 hrs & later evening for three. He said he said he just left & got high on pot (cause women he was cheating on me with all smoked with him & I was against -didn't want to be with someone who used drugs as coping skill , especially when I was dealing with a lot more stress with surgery, school & job & coping as best code just depending on God to get me through it all. I truly think God showed me the full truth on him to help me through it now. I asked him later after filed for divorce if he went to have sex with the one that lived near the hospital but he never answered me so pretty sure he did. He cheated on me the full 4 yrs of marriage & working full time/nursing school pt on weekends/evenings program school had with 11-13 women (3 regulars) that I saw email hook ups with after hacked into acct he had. God blessed me & all my STD & Hepatitis test after found that out were clean & then he got me through nursing school. So I am praying I can get into bariatric floor & help & be an inspiration to others because nobody knows what it is like to be obese in their lives except us & give support to patients after surgery. I truly would love that. The nurse manager told me to email after pass nclex to shadow on floor so hope it will work out. Thank you. :)

I love your attitude, you will be better without him. It sounds like he never deserved you in the first place. Praying for continued strength for you.

Thank you. I have great parents still living that brought me up right that helped with my personality & attitude so I give them most of credit. Looking back I truly feel that now also, he did not deserve me at all. Thanks again.

No he didn't deserve you. Have you thought about getting counseling to help put him behind you? although he was apparently bad for you, I sense you are holding on to the hurt. You have to let it go and let God!.

I'm not a professional I am just sensing in all your responses the hurt is deep. Please take care ou YOU!
