Hi, hope you all having a good day. I'm 6 month post op and have lost 81 pounds, but there is something I have been struggling since the beginning and that is my Water intake. I've never drank water before. I would usually drink juices or soda (2 or 3 coca cola a day, yep guilty as charged). After surgery is been really hard to reach my water goals. I don't like the "taste" and when I drink it it has to be very cold (room temperature water sucks). I often forget that I have to drink it, specially when I'm at work. I mostly prefer drinking natural coconut water or natural juices, but I really want to drink water, because that's best right. I've tried flavoring it, but I …

Hi, I'm 3months into my nutritional visits, and wondering when I can get my surgery date? I have 3 more visits to go. I have already done my psych visit. And the surgeon said I can do all my labs a day or two before surgery. I thought I have to do the labs before I could get approval. 10. Afternoon all. I wasn't quite sure where to put this post, but it seems here is the best place, as what I'm going to be talking about today is a huge part of the wls journey and I'm betting everyone here can either relate because they have experienced it, may experience it in the future, or can sympathize because, honestly, I don't know a single overweight person who has not had to deal with the pile of bullsh*t that I've been dealing with lately at some point in their lives. Last night, I posted a new selfie to Facebook. I've been updating them right along because my face is still changing so much, and I really like being able to see my progress and to quietly shar…

Hi All, I haven't been on this app in years. I was sleeved (after having my lap band removed) in 2013. It's been a while. I've had to reconnect bc of weight gain, oh yeah it's real. I'm 5' 9" HW: 259...left: 170 cw:201....when I saw that number over 200 I almost passed out. I just came back from my nutritionist and that was hard bc I've had to relive my worst fear. I will not go back. I've signed up for several 5ks, 10k's and half marathon over the next year. I'm currently walking on an incline on the treadmill bc that burns the calories the fastest. I've paid for weight training and hot yoga, which I will implement over the next few weeks. I will not go back. …

After the surgery I was put in a hospital room over night. Immediately I was off my diabetic medication. I was on my BP med for a couple weeks, but my blood pressure was getting back to normal. I was off almost all the meds I needed for medical reasons. My blood sugars are 80 in the morning and in the 80's before bed. I'm in great health. My sleep apnea has improved. December 1st marks my 9 month post op for my sleeve and despite being sick for a good share of it (not holding much down still), I'm very pleased with the results! From a 22, to a solid 12... over 130lbs lost and MADE IT TO ONE-DERLAND! (I'm a big fan of Supernatural so photos below are ops I've had done with the cast) September 2015, my worst and no change from that when I went into surgery, July 2016 at my first 100lb lost, then October 2016... my most recent. Have lost maybe 7 or 8 lbs since it was taken. Sent from my iPhone

Hi all! I found out yesterday that my surgery date is Dec. 21. Now this is strange because I just submitted the final bit of documentation that was needed to submit to insurance. So as far as I know, they hadn't submitted anything to the insurance company for approval yet. I was in seeing my hematologist yesterday, and she happened so tell me that they had contacted her about the availability of a date for me (I'm going through some not fun, non-obesity related heal nonsense). This struck me as weird, since, as I've said they had JUST received the required documents for submission... My pre-op is Dec. 8th and the surgery is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 21. Did this ha…

But my husband and I are traveling this month and I've been walking around NYC having to hitch my favorite--and only--jeans up. So I ducked into a store tonight, bought the next smallest size (12) and ... they are also too big on me. I haven't been in a 10 since high school. My name is Amy and I had my surgery on October.24th,2016. It has been quiet a week. My surgery went well, but the medical gas that they filled my stomach with settled in the back of my neck and head and right after surgery, that was the pain that I felt. I have had some stomach pain but nothing compared to pain in my neck. I have done well with my walking since surgery. My weight since 2 weeks before surgery has gone from 243 to 219. My clothes feel better. Still trying to walk the gas out. I am having to get neck massages for my neck. So ready to see what the next couple of weeks has to hold. I'd like to thank everyone who puts themselves out there to the broader public to educate us about this procedure and many of the bumps in the road. Like many of you, I have struggled with my weight for most of my life, starting in adolescence. Despite assurances from my friends and family that I looked fine, and that I wasn't really fat (just a little fat, I guess) I was never at a weight where I felt truly confident in my own skin. More importantly, I never truly felt that I was fulfilling my physical capabilities…
