Hi! I was sleeved on 1/16. I'm still on the full liquid high Protein diet. I see the surgeon on 2/3 for my 2 week post op appointment. I can't stand having anymore broth, Jello, etc. I want food!!! Any similar scenarios out there? I was thinking like some mash potatoes or something like that. I'm just so tired and I feel a bit restricted. This is so hard! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi all....I had my sleeve done on dec 5 2016. I'm going to be about 2 months post-op soon. I was wondering if I am drinking way too fast. I usually do 500ml of Water in about 70 to 80 mins with constant sips. But I've done 500 ml in about 40 mins. Is that too fast? Am I at risk of stretching my stomach? I usually get in at least 1500m of water per day as per my dietitian requirements. Any help or advice? I appreciate all the help I can get Sent from my LG-D855 using the BariatricPal App

I had surgery on 10/24. Tomorrow will be 1 week post surgery. I knew everyone has different experiences but I've always done well with surgeries and medications and medical thing. This is nothing like I could have imagined. I knew I wouldn't be hungry but I don't think I actually grasped or frankly believed that was possible. Now I find myself barely eating anything. Not my Protein drinks or yogurt and drinking is the hardest thing in the world. It's physically painful in my chest to drink. Emotionally I've felt at Rock bottom. The nausea after my surgery has me vomiting brown liquid and I kept whining "why did I do this to myself?" I've been a complete recluse ign…

So I'm not much of a workout fanatic. I'm actually pretty lazy, but today I signed up at 9Round and I have to say. That was the best 30 min workout of my life. I felt like death afterwards, but within 20 mins I had more energy than I've had in weeks. For anyone like me who's normally lazy and makes excuses, just keep looking. We all know the no drinking before/during/after meals guidelines for the most part with the sleeve. But I'm not sure about Protein shakes. I still drink 2 premier Protein Shakes per day and not sure if I have to space those out like a liquid (for me it's no drinking 15 min before and 30 min after eating). Anyone ask their NUT about this or know the answer? VSG date: 11/22/16 HW: 225. SW:222. CW: 196

Hi all! I had sleeve surgery on 12/30. People seem to be bouncing back really well, but I'm still at home. I find the medicine regimen, keeping track of fluids/"food" (still eating almost exclusively soup), changing bandages, and monitoring various aches/pains to be a lot. Did anyone else feel like they recovered more slowly than their peers? Thanks <3

Hey everyone, I posted a few days ago on this same topic, but my issue has gotten worse. Surgery date 1/19/17. Incision sites externally all healing fine. Thy could not look any better. They're itching and on the road to recovery. I'm having no complications aside from internal pain near upper left incision site. It's an unbearable burning and pulling sensation. I've spoken to the doctors at length. They say it's normal. You're only a week post-op. I've had two children and numerous kidney stones. This is up there!! I'm fine if laying or sitting back. To get up and walk or even go to the bathroom I'm holding my abdomen in agony. Also I was prescribed zero pain meds aside …

I am 8 weeks post op vsg and am doing really well--however, my biggest and newest issue is that nothing I drink is satisfying--I'm doing my crystal light and regular Water and have been trying lots of other choices that are zero/low calories/sugar, etc, but nothing is like it used to be. I'm finding it strange that the taste change for me has been with my drinks! I wasn't an "addicted" diet coke person, but I did enjoy it at least once a day or every other day. Plus, I think one of my medications causes dry mouth and I found sparkling waters/soda cut right through it--sigh! Any other ideas?

  34. So I was sleeved on 12/21 - I am now in phase 3 of my diet. I find that I'm hungry often and my capacity definitely is allowing me to eat more food. I am really good about tracking my food to make sure I am getting my Protein in take but have to wonder, am I eating too much? I am taking in between 600-800 a day. Never reaching 1000. What is everyone else doing?

My surgery was yesterday. They pushed me back frommarriving at 6 a.m. two arriving at 8:30 a.m., so that's what I did. They had me taken to pre-op at 8:40, where I was supposed to get an IV and all of that and then my husband would come back and hang out with me until they move me to holding and then he would head for the waiting room when I headed for the OR... But I ended up in pre-op until sometime after 10... without my spouse.. because I had a complete and utter meltdown. :-( I have no idea what happened but the minute they came at me with that IV, I thought about what my husband said as we walked into the hospital which was "last chance ... are you sure you wan…

So here I am 4 weeks post-op from band to sleeve revision. The lapband sucked. I lost 32 pounds in 5 months and gained back 12 for a whopping total of 20 pound lost in 22 months. I had the sleeve done on July 9th. At my two week post-op I was down 14 pounds. This morning I tagged along with my husband to the surgeons office because he unfortunately needed a hernia re-do just 3 weeks after I had my sleeve and my surgeon took care of him. I honestly wasn't feeling very hopeful to begin with, but I was told that I could stop by to use the scale so I did. Ah, yes, I love walking out in tears. I haven't lost another ounce in 2 weeks despite my disgustingly healthy diet. Seriou…

So I'm now about 16 weeks past surgery, and I'm not feeling much restriction. I measure most meals, but I'm finding that I can eat what seems like a lot in a short period. Today, for instance, I ate an entire slice of pizza at an office lunch. I'm edging up on 1,000 calories per day, which my surgeon okayed, but I'd rather be coming in under 800. I'm hungry, which isn't a good reason to eat, and feeling deprived, which is making it a harder to say no. I'm pretty bad about eating slowly and usually finish meals in less than 15 minutes. Any suggestions on how to extend meals? I've been thinking about putting a timer in front of myself. Should I be concerned at the l…

  42. I found out 2 weeks ago that my mom has stage IV neck cancer. Ever since then I have just been eating, eating whatever. Obviously my intake is much smaller but I just don't care right now and I'm doing whatever makes me feel better. I'm not staying on plan at all and I feel so bad about it but I guess I'm just using food to comfort myself again. I know I need to stop. 44. First day off of the pureed stage!!!! Going out to eat tonight and then catching a movie. I understand that I will be ordering and eating only Protein. Probably just 2 - 3 oz. Any dinner location ideas in the north Dallas area that has a pretty friendly menu? We usually end up at Houston's but I don't want to pay $25-27 for my meal and only two - three bites of food. (I'm not cheap, just trying to adjust to this new lifestyle) Really don't want to be the guy asking or explaining about a kids meal "due to weight loss surgery". Any ideas?
