For me, it was just all about powering through and knowing that the liquid phase wouldn't be forever. But I had already spent six months changing my relationship food before I got there, and that definitely helped. For me, food is simply fuel, and for 3 weeks my fuel was, unfortunately, liquids. This journey is certainly not for the weak-willed. Tough decisions have to be made each and every day, and grit and persistence are absolute requirements to have long-term, sustained success.

Good luck. It will get better.

It's not forever and once you are on puree it will be so much better.

I used to hang an outfit which I really wanted to get into, on the outside of the wardrobe in my bedroom. It was the first thing I saw in the morning and the last thing at night. That really kept me focused. I was also encouraged daily, by knowing that my body was easier to lugg around. My knees stopped hurting, my back stopped aching and I was able to get up and down stairs without being out of breath.

Keep at it!

Hello I begin pre op liquid tomorrow surgery date 2-6. The carnation instant breakfast is ok, and I am going to cook chicken breast and beef to make my own broth cannot stand canned broth. Also f you will google or go to Ebay and search soup mixes I found several I like the wonton base and there are some more...just have to be careful to strain to make sure there are no pieces of like chicken in your broth. I have sf popsicles, krystal light, jello of course (5 flavors) premier protein drink and still looking for options and recipes to keep this from being boring but following the rules...anyone with ideas please share, thank you

I do this too! In the first year, I bought a dress was a smaller size that I wanted to fit into for my birthday. Now at 4 years out, I still use this strategy at least once or twice a year to stay on track or to reach a new WL goal (and now I have a lot of cute dresses to boot!).

Hi m12345 are you on clear liquid or full liquids? If on full liquids you can have any kind of soup (blended and diluted to liquid consistency), strained yogurt, Protein shakes. If you are still on Clear Liquids and you are doing well you can maybe contact you surgeon and ask if you can progress a bit earlier. I did it with my surgeon and he was happy for me to.
