Okay so I had another sleep medicine appointment today, and they saying I still don't have enough data (35 days of data out of 42days since last appointment) again on this machine so they went ahead and have me another machine (two) plus another appointment in January. I have had this sleep machine since April and this is the only thing that is holding me up from getting a date for surgery. I have explain to them time after time that I have 3 small kids (twins) at home and I don't always remember to use my machine when I'm trying to sleep when they sleep. Then on top of that they have kept canceling my following up appointments with Sleep and then give me other dates…

I'm finishing up my first day of my pre-op diet. So far, pretty decent. Yes, my stomach is acting like it hasn't eaten in forever, but I know it's getting more than enough. I have had some short temper moments, to be sure. And I have looked for ways to eat something that isn't 'that bad'. But, other than one cough drop, I have adhered to my plan. I know it will get easier each day I'm on it. Day 2 here I come!! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting and I was curious about whether or not anyone here started their Pre-Op diet and became nauseous the first day? This is my first day and I've had low blood sugar symptoms and I even threw up this morning? Did the diet do this to anyone else? How long did it last? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello everyone! I'm new here and started my journey a few months ago after researching and meeting with a surgeon. I'm about 4/6 months of my mandatory diet/weigh in for my insurance. I've kept on track with everything and dumb of me I forgot my birth control this past week. My husband and I did sleep together and I'm now worried about pregnancy stopping my progress. Has anyone become pregnant before having VSG surgery? If so, is there a certain amount of time you have to wait afterwards to have the surgery? And lastly, did your insurance require you to re-do your 6 month pre-op supervised diet? Thank you for you help. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricP…

So I meet the surgeon today. I'm nervous for some reason. I'm not really sure what the appointment is though. General meeting? A time to ask questions? Assessment? At this time, my appointment for psych eval, and with the nutritionist is not until the end of the month, and I'm still waiting for the endoscopy appointment. I have a follow up with the nurse practitioner at the end of January, where I get weighed and see if I've made that 12 lb loss to get a date for surgery. I'm really hoping he tells me what the pre-op diet is, even if it doesn't start under just before surgery. I also don't have a long list of questions to ask if I get a chance to ask him. I feel unpre…

Hi guys. I've been on my pre-op liquid diet since 12/6 and been getting some killer nausea. I almost had to get off the bus to work to hork. :/ It's highly unpleasant! Discover anyone else experience this during their pre-op diet? And does anyone have any suggestions? For reference, my pre-op diet allows no solid food whatsoever. A typical day is coffee w/protein powder, a sugar free Jello, soy milk w/protein powder, broth, then some Protein sugar free jello. Sent from my electric toaster using the BariatricPal App.

How much has everyone lost in their Pre-Op visits? My doctor didn't give me a specific amount that I needed to lose for surgery to occur. Just that I needed to try and lose weight. I'm about 5'8 and my starting weight was 330 pounds, but I lost about 15 pounds before my visits started. My weight at my visits has been the following: Visit 1: 314.6 Visit 2: 309.4 Visit 3: 308.4 Visit 4: 307.2 Visit 5: 301.3 Visit 6 is this week. I'm just super paranoid that I haven't lost enough weight compared to others. I haven't gained at all - but still I'm just kinda hoping that I get approved without any issues.

Hi guys, Just wondering if there are any sleevers out there having or had surgery done weighing 200lbs and if so, did you lose much from it? I'm so so scared. I've read loads of good stories on here thank God, but the very few people I have told are really against my decision. My husband is half and half about it. He is paying for my surgery but he is ready to bail at any given moment due to outside influences. I've battled with my weight my whole entire life. Even at the age of 6 I weighed 8 stone. (112lbs) this is the smallest I've been in my whole adult life, but it's coming back and fast!! So I feel this is my last attempt at making myself happy. I know weight l…

Hey everybody! So, I get sleeved tomorrow (Monday Dec. 12) and I'm starting to feel extremely anxious and almost nauseous. Is this normal? Reading a lot of the forums and posts, everyone seems to be excited, but I'm just scared. My surgeon hasn't had me do a 2 week pre-op diet, and I just feel so so scared to go under. Can anyone share their experiences with pain and waking up or just general advice? Thanks

So I am almost to my surgery date, 10/25, but I am also starting to wonder if this is the right thing to do. I have lost weight before successfully (over 80 pounds three different times), but unfortunately it had always found me again. I am very self disciplined most times but when I go into maintenance mode, I slip. I love to cook, grew up on a farm with a mom who was an amazing cook who taught me well. . I don't want to put myself through this for nothing. How do you keep the weight off long term? It terrifies me to think of doing this for nothing. In 2014, I lost 88 pounds doing weight watchers and exercising like crazy. I would workout 4 hours a day and th…

Hello from Chicago, 38 year old mother of 3. I feel like I am the biggest person after reading all the post, which they are very helpful and now I don't feel like I am alone. I started this journey in April, but through my insurance United Healthcare. I have to be on a 6 month weight loss program. I started at 444lbs (prob the only place I will be totally honest on that) since then I am currently 379lbs as of this morning. I have done really well on my own. I haven't told people other then my husband and sister, I don't want people's opinions either way. I picked November 23rd cuz I am not a fan of thanksgiving and I don't have to go my mother n laws house this year, wooh…

I decided to do the gastric sleeve about 2 years ago but couldn't follow through with it because we had a child. Now I am having my surgery on Dec 14th and he is causing me more stress than anything. It's not just arguing it's now physical. I don't even know if I am driving myself to the hospital or what's going on with our 3 kids. He just plays these games. Any advice on what I should do? I have no family and really no friends since I just moved to where I am 18 months ago.

Has anyone ever started the process and delayed a few months before completing? I'm wondering if that would even be possible, as of now I'm half way through yhe required 6 week lifestyles change class, up to date on appointments, my next exercise apt isn't even until march 1 so it's not like they can even schedule me until then (which suks because I thought I'd be getting surgery in Jan) Anyway. Do you think I'd have to restart the whole process if I waited a couple months? happy Llama sad Llama... big fat mama Llama.

Has anyone heard of anyone getting denied for surgery because they do not have any other issues like diabetes or sleep apnea? I have heard of some insurance companies denying someone because they do not have any other issues besides being overweight. My BMI is 42 and I do not have any other health issues. I have Tricare and I'm concerned they may not approve me for those reasons. Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-N920T using the BariatricPal App

First, let me preface this by saying that this post is only meant for positive tips, suggestions, and encouragement for those who are seriously interested in helping each other come up with ideas that is a concern on everyone's mind. It is not meant to be a post for negativity or criticism. I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just don't arguments about whether we should or should not worry about saggy skin. So, if I'm being honest with everyone, like many of you, I worry about how my skin is going to look after surgery. I know my numbers are going to look better after surgery, but what I worry about most is the skin. For myself, being in the health field, I know …

So I have a question, my surgery is December 20th, and I know the incisions will be on the upper half of my stomach and hen in the middle and such. Did anyone ever have trouble with bras? Or do you know of any solutions to be had with them? I bought a Bralette that wouldn't be as much pressure on that area but I didn't know if anyone had a better solution!
