If I could attach a video yall could hear the insane internal argument my gut is having and has been since 9pm. Yeah no sleep tonight but I'm surely burning the calories running to the dang bathroom. Immodium and pepto = FAIL... I believe somebody has a voodoo doll of me. . .seriously lol. At this point I'm crackin jokes and destroying the ozone with the methane I'm producing. Apparently my body doesnt agree with beets and spinach combined. Yup my body is a one man band tonight. Felt the need to notify yall of this. LoL

  5. I am so excited to get rid of this band. This morning as I was trying to get my scrambled eggs down while trying not to get sick or burp my way through them (because I was sitting at a table with my coworkers), all I could think of is ONE MONTH! May 2nd is the day! Oh how I wish I would have researched more when I had my original surgery. It's ok though because this thing is coming out and being replaced with RNY. Yay! It's weird though. I'm still having doubts about whether or not I should have asked about the duodenal switch. I don't believe my surgeon performs that though. I've just been reading so much about it. Anyone else having any doubts about their chosen…

Well, I'm Kelly I turned 30 in september. I have three kids two girls 11-9 and a boy 3. Since having this surgery my life has become surreal. Two months after having surgery I served my ex-husband with divorce papers. I made the decision that day on that gurney that when I woke up that Kelly would be gone. Since he cheated and kept at it and after that surgery I thought what's divorced verses major surgery. The funny thing about GB is the tricks it plays. You go from going the girl who's EVERY guys friend and fixes them up but secretly you wanted it to be you. Your so use to being ignored and looked over you attach to the first person to come into your life and call you…

I've already decided to not spill the Beans to every person I meet on the street. However, I am happy to tell friends and family. What do you guys say when an acquaintance asks how you've lost so much weight so fast? I don’t want to lie, but I don’t want to share my privacy with others I wouldn’t normally confide in. How do you all explain the weight loss to outsiders?

I apologize in advance for the long run down of how I've gotten to my current predicament. Please bear with me... I had a successful lap band experience in 2009 and lost 100 pounds, reaching my goal weight of 150 pounds. I ran 5 times a week, did kickboxing, ran a fitness club for kids, and was back to my college- like self. I am one of those sick people who love working out, so I was in heaven! Most importantly, I was living the active lifestyle I had missed for so long. My husband and I decided to try for baby #2, had unexplained infertility for over a year, then were overjoyed to hear we were expecting twins. My ovaries were on the brink of rupturing, so I was rest…

I'm still not 100% sure I want try this all over again what if it don't work again. The reason for the revision is my doctor believes I have metabolic issues that the Rny could help take care of. I'm worried it won't be any different I was watching what I would eat very well my protein fluids were good I workout 5 days a week 90/120 mins each time. Even when I was dropped to a 600 calorie diet I lost no weight. So that's were I am now go easy in me I type like crap on this phone

Hi everyone. I had my surgery on jan 29th and have lost 30 pounds or maybe a bit more and I am really feeling a lot of pressure from myself and also from my mom to eat really low calorie foods and keep losing weight. I desperately want to lose a lot of weight but this pressure is getting to me. Is anyone else feeling this or has anyone had this experience? Thanks!

Hi all... I am new to the site but have been rummaging around everyone's posts. I got the band in Dec 10. It was fine other than throwing up all the time. I could not find that sweet spot. .5cc made a huge difference for me. I would either throw up my own saliva or could eat a whole 6"sub. There is no middle for me. Pre-OP was 256lbs. I got down to 210 lbs in a year and a half, but most was lost early then was a huge struggle later to keep the weight off. My band will also be so tight in the morning that I can't even think about drinking Water till about noon and then at 6pm, it loosens up so I can eat a large dinner. I would never wish the band even on my worst enemies.…

I'm a big coffee drinker. I don't enjoy it for the caffeine but for the taste. My two favorite drinks are Sbux VENTI non-fat iced Carmel latte (I know THAT will change...even pre-op, it fills me up!) with an extra shot...again, for the taste not the caffeine. I also love VENTI Chai lattes but I get those non-fat. I could get both tall but what about sugar and dumping? Will getting them both sugar free do the trick? I can also do decaf (although the taste will be nasty) but what's the reason for decaf? And when can I go back to caffeine? I only have one coffee/tea each day and don't do sodas except Sprite Zero.

I am 7 days post op. I had a hernia fixed while I had the surgery. Now I have horrible pain in and around my belly button. None of my other incisions hurt at all. Is this pain from the hernia? Has anyone else had a hernia fixed during this surgery? Sometimes I can barely get out of a chair or bed. I went back to work today and it was horribly painful. Any advice would be great.

Hi. I am looking for some advice. My daughter is working to meet insurance requirements for revision surgery. She has PCOS and severe early onset arthritis caused by an accident several years ago. We didn't know that the band isn't very effective for women with PCOS and although she lost 60 pounds right after the band, she has slowly put it back on over the last year or so. She hasn't had her band filled or gone for a band check in over a year as she has a hard time even getting 6 oz in at each meal and most times doesn't even eat 3 meals a day. When she had her band, her dad's insurance covered it. Now that she is 21, I put her on my insurance. My question is, wi…
