I'm only slightly kidding! My surgery is May 30 and I'm finding things to worry about I guess! Do you cook food for your family that you know you can't eat, or does your family have to suck it up and eat what you can it (only a bigger portion). I can't imagine what it will be like to not feel hunger!

Any ladies have this problem? So I got off the depo shot a year ago and since then I feel like im constantly gaining weight. I'm getting my sleeve in June, but I'm so frustrated. I made a doctors appointment. All my blood work came out normal and my thyroids are good. Anyone know how long it takes to get the depo out of ur system or if anyone thinks it really messes with ur hormones that much and makes u gain weight that quickly? I watch what I eat most of the time but no where to where I would gain as much as I have... So irritating

For the larger breasted women (though I don't mind hearing from any size): When did you start to lose in your cup size? I have lost 35lbs so far, very happy, feeling great. I am definitely losing in my torso as my rib measurement has gone from 38 to 35! But my actual cup size is not changing much. Not as much as I'd hoped. They already look like hell and I know it will only get worse. But I'm really ready to lose the fat in these suckers. It's already hard enough to find a properly fitting 38H/I bra -- I can't wait until I'm a DDD or DD again. I will have reduction surgery once I hit maintenance, hoping to be a C or B one all is said and done!! Also, I need to find …

I have been on my period for FIFTEEN STRAIGHT DAYS. It seems to be increasing in heaviness at this point. Surgeon's nurse said that surgery affects our hormones. I think cramps are trying to return. BTW I am 7 weeks out today. Has anyone experienced this?

I have a big decision I need to make and I hope you can give me some opinions. I have a great job that I love and I only work 10 months a year (education field). I love my boss and she gives me a lot of freedom and respects my input. I also run a summer school in July for my district. I start at 8am and I finish at 3:00 everyday. I make great money too. Sounds great right? I wentto school to get an advanced degree and certs and now an opportunity has come around to be a supervisor. I applied and it seems I am the front runner. I would work 12 months a year and work until 4:30 everyday. I am guessing I'll make about 14k more a year. It would be a great career move and an …

Hey! So, I've been having issues with my period ever since having my second daughter. I was put on the Nuva ring and told to only allow myself to have 4 periods a year because i was bleeding so heavily i was becoming anemic. For awhile that worked and then I ended up hemmorhaging on it & was taken off. My period continued to go on for nearly 2 weeks and bleeding very heavily (pad and super plus tampons I'll go through in a matter of 1 hour) My dr suggested I get a non-hormonal birth control as ive had too many complications with hormonal ones and I now have a Nova-T IUD and my periods are just as bad ! I'm so frustrated and have no idea how to fix this as my Iron h…

I've been having a hard time financially since I'm paying for a a cobra extension insurance. My love's bday is Wednesday. I have about $100. He's been wanting these Jordan's that I know he would never buy for himself. But since they're so costly I wouldn't be able to do anything else. I'm debating this because I feel that this is lacking creativity. So another idea I have was to get him a massage at a student salon, take him or make him dinner, then maybe getting a room and perhaps something sexy to wear? I need help or opinions.

Hey everyone. Prior to my surgery my boyfriend and I have had some trouble. Not big trouble but some. Now that I feel more confident I feel very indifferent. To the point where he has noticed. I don't know of this is a phase or I am just done with our relationship. Has this happened to anyone?

Those of you who have reached your goal weights or close to it, have you noticed if your feet have shrunk enough to warrant a different size?Curious, as I had bought expensive but comfy shoes for summer as they are open mesh and opentoe and strapheels. I am concerned that they may be too big for me next summer. What do you think? anyone had that problem?

My BF and i are really close to another couple who just recently got their first home! We are super excited for them. They are married (through the court) never had a wedding or a reception for that matter. I am planning on helping her have a housewarming party, casual but fun. I keep reading online that it is rude to register for gifts because of all these etiquette rules. However I think their circumstances are different because they never had wedding where a person would usually register, etc. etc. What do you ladies think? Should they register since they really are newlyweds with not much? I really think most people would love to help them start this part of …

Ughhhhh, here I am saving up the last bit of money for my VSG next month, and I get a toothache in the back on my mouth. My gums on that side are red and inflammed. So, I touch way back there and it feels like under my gum is a "point". And if it is the point of a wisdom tooth, it is coming in sideways . So I'm popping advil and painting my mouth with orajel in hopes of it not being a wisdom tooth. How much does it cost to get one cut out anyway? I had one cut out a few years ago, but I had dental insurance then and also used general anesthesia. Definitely won't be spending the extra money for that now. I'm 29, I thought I was past the age of wisdom teeth. Grrrrr…

Hi ladies, I'm scheduled for surgery next Saturday. I keep reading that ladies won't want to wear underwire bras for a while after the surgery because they'll rub on the incisions. Either my anatomy is very strange or the incisions go between your ribs, or what? I am tall (5'10") so maybe this is why, but there are 2 to 3 inches between the bottom of my bra and the bottom of any part of my ribcage (more if you measured the roll when sitting - this is why I'm getting the surgery!). So how would it be rubbing on incisions? I don't get it. Do the incisions go a lot higher than I thought? Like I said, they'd have to cut in between my ribs for my bra to rub on it. Maybe …

At my heaviest weight I was 317. I stopped having periods because of my size. Well 2 weeks before surgery, my period returned. I have basically been bleeding ever since surgery. It has been over 2 months now. I have been to the doc 3 times. They have started me on different hormones to no avail. Has anyone else had a similar experience? When will it stop??

My skin has been clear for like 18 years. I'm now 2 weeks post-op and in the last few days have sprouted 11 pimples on my chin, precisely where I would expect to see breakouts related to hormones (sides of the chin). I wake up to 2 or 3 more every day. I know it will get better as the shock to my body lessens and my hormones find equilibrium, but who knows how long that will take. As if I didn't have enough things to be self conscious about. I go back to work in about 2 weeks. I have to interact with a lot of people, and there's squat I can do about this other than wait it out. Just venting a bit. I'll gladly take some pimples over the 40ish pounds I've lost so…

I'm struggling to decide if I want to move forward with a panniculectomy or not. I am having issues with the excess skin, which I was well before even considering WLS. I have had 3 c-sections and carried twins in the last pregnancy so I am sure you can imagine the state of my stomach. My surgeon has been trying to find a way to get the insurance to cover it yet they would not, even though long ago I had been approved for it and had been a wait list which some random idiot dr pulled me from the list :/ And a friend with NO issues from her small amount of excess skin was recently approved and had her surgery two weeks later on the same insurance. Ugh! So anyways, m…

I woke up this morning and my butt cheeks are sore.. It was weird because I felt fine yesterday and didn't go to the gym all weekend, I didn't do any extra bedroom activities so that's out too So as I am sitting there wondering what the heck is going on I realize I wore heels all day yesterday!!! For the first time in about 2 or 3 years I can't remember. And they were high wedge heels too and so comfortable.. That's a pretty good reason for my butt to hurt..lol I guess I should wear them more often and give my butt an extra workout.. On a side note it was awesome to go to my Family easter party and not eat myself sick. I had one small plate I picked off of and t…

Hey guys! I have another user name but I am too shy to post under it so I made a fake name for this question. I am not sure if this is the right place to post but I hope someone has some answers or ideas. So I had a tummy tuck months ago (in December) and my doc removed a lot of skin. Not only did my skin get pulled down but some skin got moved up under my incision. Though my area "down there" looks good something seems to be wrong.... Ever since this tuck there seems to be something missing when it comes to my time in the bedroom. I can't seem to get complete satisfaction and reach a climax which has never happened before. At first I thought this was all about swel…

Ok, at my last Nut visit a couple weeks ago, my nut. advised me not to get my next depro. shot (birth control) in mid April since it stays in my system for 12 weeks. She said I could possibly get a surgery date in the next few months. With the bariatric program I go to, you have to be hormone free from birth control 30 days before and after WLS due to the risk of blot clots. I called the surgeons office to verify this and didn't get an answer and was told to talk to the actual bariatric program office about it to see where I was in the process. They meet every 2 weeks to go over all bariatric patients in their program to see where they are and what they need to still do t…

Ya know... You guys have become such a big part of my life and I anxiously await updates on so many of you that I feel like you've become this special little family I've chosen to be a part of. I'm bursting at the seems to share something that makes me feel so alive and really confirms in my mind just how far I've come since VSG 12/5/11. In the year and a half prior to surgery I had no interest in sex. AT ALL. The very thought of it made me want to crawl under a table and die. There was no drive or desire for it, I felt fat, ugly- definitely not sexy! The last month of my life since I started seeing who I will refer to as Mr. Motorcycle and I feel alive. I've known …

I did something for myself today I have never done before. I went to have a professional bra fitting at a SOMA lingerie store. Even though I have 10 pounds to go to hit my original goal (I may rethink that goal and stop for now), my breasts have quit changing size. YEA! None of my bras fit right in all places - if the cups were right, the straps wouldn't stay on my shoulder or the band didn't fit right. I have been wearing mostly Aah bras as I shrank in weight - since they were accomodating as my breasts were changing size rapidly. As much as I like those bras, I still like a traditional bra, too. I ended up being a 36C. The bra style that fit me best was their "Emma" a…

Hello Ladies! I'm looking for a sound off from ladies who had had a total hysterectomy BEFORE VSG, and who were on HRT. I'm only 33, but I lost all of my reproductive system this last summer due to aggressive cysts. I've had all sorts of hell trying to get a hormone replacement that worked and didn;t make me horribly ill. I finally found something that (mostly) works, but it's a tenuous success. It's also a low dose birth control pill. I've read that women sometimes have trouble with the pill after, and that terrifys me, because I've tried Patches and shots for HRT, and they all made me miserable. Has anyone successfully stayed on their HRT regimine after losing ther we…

Okay, I've been reading about everyone's almost inevitable hair loss and how there is really nothing we can do to prevent it. I have also read (online and at other places) that sometimes the trauma of the anesthesia/surgery causes the hair to go into resting phase or whatever. It made sense to me and I accepted that as fact, then I started thinking, wait, I had tonsils out and gallbladder out and they had to put me under to remove a kidney stone and all told about 8 surgeries in my life and my hair never fell out with any of them? So, does this mean mine won't or is there something else at play here? Could it be that we just aren't getting enough nutrients at first?

Hi all. Odd post I know but I had to ask if other people were experiencing this. As I've lost weight everything feels so exposed now. I wear kinda tight jeans (not where I have to suck in to zip or anything) and even when I'm sitting in the car or walking it's like they are rubbing on my good stuff. I feel like I constantly have an invisible camel toe now. At first I thought it was just a specific pants that had low rise but no, its all of them. I haven't been this small since Middle school so I suppose this might be what everyone experiences who is of normal weight? I guess my thighs and fat had kept things quit cushioned before. I do wear panties but maybe i need like s…

This is really embarrassing but I recently as of the beginning of Feb, switched birth control methods to the depo shot. My period is two weeks late and there is no chance I am preggers, unless its an act of God. My Dr did mention that in some in women they noticed a reduction to total lost of period in 9 months. But its only been a month, so I don't think its that. Has anyone had this happen?

I am about 7 weeks post-op and have thus far had to buy new work pants once. I can tell that I will soon be too small for these pants as well. Don't get me wrong, this is a GREAT thing. But MAN, work clothes are expensive! People always told me that I needed to save up for the clothing I am going to have to buy but, of course, I didn't listen. My surgeon was telling me that he had heard of a program that did sort of a clothing swap for people who have had WLS. Has anyone ever heard of this or know of any kind of program that does this? I think it's a great idea!
