Bc Pills

My surgeon wants me to stop my BC pills before surgery and start again the month after. Anybody else do this?

I was told the same thing, not to start bcp a month before or a month after. I'm not on anything now, but was told to get on something, not the pill, before surgery. Something about the hormones in the pill.

I know they increase your chances of blood clots but I wasn't sure if just stopping before and after for a little while was common or not.

I take BCP for hormone replacement. I was told to keep taking them and even took one on the day after surgery since they are such a small pill. No one seemed worried about blood clots...
