Hi All, I had a revision from Lapband to VSG on Aug 15th. I used to take Loestein 24FE before my revision surgery. My surgeon told me due to absorption issues that 'could' happen I should look into another form of birth control. I went to my OB- GYN and she suggested the Nuvaring because I have PCOS and still need hormones in my birth control. So, my question is: All post-op's, what kind of Birth Control do you use? Does anyone use the Nuvaring & what do you think of it? Thanks!!

We are all adults so I hope I don't get any crap...lol. I had a 'monthly' question for you ladies: I have the Mirena and my periods have been really, really light until surgery. Now they are 7 days AT LEAST and a little heavier. My hormones are really kicking my butt, too. I can handle all that but the main question I have is if anyone else has experienced a horrible smell as well? I'm very clean and very self conscience so that why I can't understand it??? Please forgive my bluntness...lol. I have to wait for new insurance to kick in so I can't see my doctor yet. Thanks for the help! And remember...ADULTS. No smart arses please.

I was wondering if being on your period during surgery is an issue? Do I put a tampon in? I know they will be using a catheter on me so how will that work? Thanks ladies! VSG Date: 2/13/13

Warning, there may be TMI ahead in this post. I assume since this is the lady's forum, it's okay just to be open. My body has the absolute worst timing. Here's the story. Growing up, my period was incredibly irregular. Like, from when I first started, I'd have a period once a year, but it would be a monstrous two-week long flooding ordeal. Now, that period also could be triggered by stress, and without fail, if I took a trip or something, there it would be, messing up all my clothes and the sheets and generally ruining my life. I evened out a bit as I got older, but it was still pretty rough, and not anywhere near regular. I lost about 120 pounds a few years ago,…

Tom;tmi; tonight we went out to dinner and because of my special time I crave red meat..as I'm sure a lot of women do. Well when my steak came to the table with my mushrooms and broc I was as excited as a fat girl with a can of whipped cream.. eerrrr my steak was way over cooked so I requested a new one which took about 30 minutes of me eating shrooms and broc...by the time my steak came out I took one bite and realized I had filled up on veggies ;( well I was ready to tell the manager how upset I was when he came over and informed me that because I didn't get to eat with my family that my meal was on the house... ;( I was so ready to inform them how I'm on a special diet…

Hi, I'm post op a little over 2 weeks. Before surgery. I had lived with my SO for 5 years. we had good and bad times. For the past 2 weeks while recovering, i stayed with my parents. And surprisingly, I really enjoyed it. The issue now is, what should I do? My relationship has been so painful for me and he tends to not treat me well. I know I should leave. I should have left years ago. My issue is: what do I say? I'm 23,I haven't lived at home since I was 19. I find that though I just came back to my SOs house, I am constantly thinking about my family. The environment was better for me there than it is here. Any advice? I promised myself that I would change my life …

Hi all! I am a person who likes to visually reward myself. I am looking for something visual to keep track of each lb lost. I saw "motivation marbles" on line and my old weight watchers leader used to give us a paper clip to string together for every lb we lost. I was wonder if any of your have any fun ideas that you do!

I'm about 3 months post-op and like most of us, sex is getting better and better. But I have a very happy, unexpected surprise...easier orgasms. I don't know about y'all, but I have a "go-to" position to orgasm but now I don't have to use it! I can "finish the race" in any number of ways now and that, my skinny friends, is AWESOME! You?

So I was in for my monthly waxing yesterday, up on all fours when the gal rests her hand on my tush and comments that it's really firming up! We'd been talking about exercise and that I'd been back on the treadmill and had started to run so it wasn't entirely out of context but we both dissolved into fits of giggles. I still laugh when I think about it! Well, at least it's firming up, right!? =)

Hey ladies! For those of you experiencing symptoms similar to PMS (but no longer menstruate so it can't be) irritable, headaches, fatigue-I went to my family MD and she explained that estrogen gets stored in fat cells. When you lose fat rapidly, the estrogen is released into your system just like when ovulating. Thank God! I thought I was going crazy! However, Im still getting headaches, Tylonol isn't cutting it. Anyone with similar reaction to rapid weight loss? My surgery was last Oct and I've lost 54 lbs. since surgery. My sleeve gives me problems with a lot of foods so I eat very little still. Prefer soups and yogurts (mushy stage) just so I don't feel horrible.

Surgery date is Dec 28th. I have VERY painful periods but manage with extra strength Tylenol every 6-8 hrs for 1st 2 days (4 grams/day). Liquid Tylenol is 160 mg/5mL. How in the world am I going 2 b able 2 swallow that many teaspoons of Tylenol for 1st few months post-op? I've read/heard differing comments on whether sleevers can eventually take pills.

Ladies - I'm seeing that a huge percentage of our pregnant ladies are ones that were using the IUD as their primary form of birth control. But what I haven't seen is someone taking the time to say, "Hey, this is a possible issue and be aware of it BEFORE surgery." The IUD can shift and/or fall out with a drastic change in weight. I wish more surgeons were discussing this possibility with their patients, because I'm getting the feeling that they aren't always doing so and that many women are unaware that this can happen. Please be sure to address your choice of the IUD with your doctor so that you can decide if it's the right choice for you while you're in the init…

I was banded 07/07/11 and I have about 4 or 5 cc in my band-I think this is plenty for my size (I'm 4'11). I have a LOT of food restrictions (no red meat, no chicken, no salad, no bread,no potatoes, ect). I pretty much live off avacados and white fish.... I have researched as well has have friends that have been banded and all they complain about is chicken. Does anyone else have a really limited diet? I have asked my doctor to take some out of my band but he will not because he says I should be getting a fill instead of taking out.... HELP ME!

IM taking this opportunity to change my form of birth control to something with no hormones. Also, with the conflicting info about effectiveness of the pill, I would be paranoid every month. Heck! I'd be paranoid everytime I had sex (and that is NOT a mood enhancer). I'm 40 and done having kids. Don't want a bonus baby 15 years after my last kid. I've been married 17 years and we find condoms just annoying, BTW So, I've been researching the main two options. One is Essure that inserts little stints in the fallopian tubes and causes them to seal themselves off so you have permanent sterilization without surgery. The other is Paraguard, the hormone free IUD. Anyone use e…

Omg my mom is a nut case!!! She always tries to bring out the worst. She constantly puts ppl down. Calls me, this person is stupid this person don't need to wear that. You don't need to do this, you don't need to do that. Four days post op I was starving and had 1/2 cup tomato soup went down fine no problem. I'm on a liquid diet until tomorrow. She was like your supposed to be on clear liquid only your messing up your dumb why did you get this if your not following the rules. Last time I checked tomato soup was a liquid. Then she was like all nice hey you want me to ride with you to the doctor to keep you company?? I was like sure. Then she spilled the beans I can't wait …

Hey all, I'm 25 and have lost a noticeable amount of weight but not very much yet. I was wondering if anyone has managed to loose around 80 lbs and NOT be a saggy mess. I know this is terrible, but I almost think that being overweight is more attractive than being saggy. :-/ I am hoping that building muscle and being young will help..but I don't know.

I swear drinking and making sure I'm well hydrated and taking in enough Protein is a FULL time job. Anyway, just thought I'd share to y'all girls what helps me- I lug everything in my little tote. I have 1 L Water, Isopure for protein, baby powder for my itchy incisions, baby lotion, kindle, etc. The problem with me is that: If I don't see it, I don't drink it. So I bring it with me everywhere in the house. Just thought I'd share.

Last night...I did something awful. I had a little too much to drink and smoked weed mixed with tobacco. I haven't done that in God knows how long...but I got sick (from the weed), and puked several times. After (&now), I feel fine..but I heard puking with a Lapland is the most dangerous thing you can do. Has this ever happened to you? Will I be okay?

Okay, I've read quite a few of the "skinny bucket lists" on here and notice that alot of you, like me, want to lose weight so we can wear sexy tall boots. Well here I sit, less than 30 lbs from my goal...and as of a month ago I tried on a pair and it still wasn't happening! *sad face* With only 30 lbs left to go I don't know how much of that can possibly come from my calves. Is there people at their goal who still can't wear them? Sheesh, are my calves really that fat? I assumed that any 150 lb girl whose an 8/10 like I should/hopefully will be would be able to wear tall boots!

I'm 4 days post op & I can feel the gas bubbling around all day long. When the gas finally gets to where I can pass it, sometimes it's a little messy :-( Is that normal this early out because of the liquid diet? Should I still have that much gas from surgery? All I have is water, Isopure, chic broth & my meds. Also, am I giving myself gas by drinking out of the bottle? I can't stand to drink from those medicine cups any more? Please tell me if this is normal....cause it is extremely embarrassing!!!!

So I'm 2 months ... And I keep getting sick. Before I had surgery I got the flu shot to protect me, but no luck :/ So far I've had ear & throat pain, and tested positive for Strep... Started 10 days of antibiotics My new tummy doesn't like the antibiotics, and I have constant diarrhea... Lucky me lol I was feeling better- No ear or throat pain, but now I started to get a sinus cold/flu. I feel congested, weak, and my entire body aches And as if that all wasn't enough... I think those antibiotics are causing me to develop an yeast infection... WTFudge!!!!!!

I found this really cool pill container at The Vitamin Shoppe, and it's little pods, with morning and night that you can take off and throw in your purse! It's really good for younger people like me who are nervous about forgetting your pills when you're out and about! Ignore the mess on my counter! But it's pretty awesome. (: xo Annie.

So, my thighs constantly rub together and burn holes in my jeans. I was wondering for those who are post op- at what point did you notice your thighs stopped rubbing together? Is this even a reality or just a pipe dream? I am about 7 weeks post op and down about 30 pounds. But I have yet not notice any difference in rubbage.

I cut it off today! I now have 14 inches of gorgeous (slightly thinner) brunette hair to donate to locks of love! I am about 2 1/2 months out, and I've noticed more and more hair going down the drain, getting left in my brush, on my clothes...so before it started coming out in long sad clumps, I cut it this morning. I have to say ladies, it feels great! Don't mourn losing your hair, if it's going to happen, rock it! Just like we're all going to rock our awesome new bodies! I got it cut into a super cute pixie style, and I love it! I see so many of us feeling sad and suffering through hair loss, but it doesn't have to be sad or full of suffering! I hope I can i…

Hi all. First post here. I just had my surgery on Jan 16th. I have PCOS (was diagnosed at 14) and only have had 2 periods over the course of 4 years. One was after losing 25 lbs on a fad diet. I'm only a week out now, but was curious if other women with PCOS saw their periods return and how far out from surgery did they return? Looking forward to having cycles (sounds weird, I know) and then being able to have babies! :-)

ive noticed sex has been much more pleasurable that is until my husband goes into beast bang mode. at times it can make me have several orgasms back to back. other times it feels like he goes way too deep way too hard. I went to my gyno and I am perfectly healthy and non injured. I thought switching to me on top would help but even flat on his back he bucks like a mad man. have any of you ladies experienced deep penetration discomfort since wls? Also has anyone else realized the hugeness of their husbands penis after wls? btw I reached the 100lbs total lost about 2 wks ago and he is really giving it to me like im someone new.
