I will start this off by saying that my marriage is rocky, even on it's best day. I am scheduled to be sleeved in early July. Both hubby and I are very overweight. He talks about how he doesn't need surgery and he can do it on his own, which I respect. I know I need this tool in order to save my life. He has been less than supportive on my decision for the surgery. He didn't attend the weight loss seminar, and only went to my 1st doctor appointment because I was persistent that he goes. He can't get off of work to go with me to my orientation class that is supposed to outline every detail of pre-and post op. He is only planning on taking off the day of my surgery and even…

Once again I'm putting my kids 1st I can't pay all my bills at once now,but I will continue to save money, and will do surgery in the future. I have to cut down on my fancy life style LMBO... starbuck cafe drinker limit to weekly or once a month. I know how to budget so that won't be a problem. My only issue is I must do my nails been over 10 years that's a habit of mine, but it's a cheap habit compare to spending daily $5 on cafe. Nails it's $15 x2=$30 a month so I can stretch the nails to the very end when it's in bad shape, and not do it every 2 weeks. I was counting the years till my 20 year marriage anniversary to get married by church. Now everything is ruined... I…

Haven't seen this topic come up here but gave read about it elsewhere. ..have any of you had abnormal pap smears come back after having rny? I have always tested negative for HPV and doc said sometimes drastic weight loss can cause hpv to activate and cause abnormal paps...still waiting on results but am curious to hear from any one that was told the same..

Hubby told me today he has no idea why he is with me. He also said I do nothing for him. He said he pays all the bills & I don't take care of him. I cook 7 days a week. He comes home late a good percentage of the time he is drinking with his brother & he would say you don't cook like before or I don't want to eat that. He takes out a cup Soup or makes Lipton soup. Since he started doing that. I decided oh why I'm going to waste time making him Breakfast. I buy cold cuts & Italian bread & they fix there own sandwich. I'm not dealing with bacon eggs sausage toast hot cafe. Why? I'm not being appreciated. He then complains I don't take care of him. No food …

I saw the thread that's going on now, but I had a question. What are safe positions for me and my partner? I'm going to wait until I'm 7 days post-OP, but the first day in post-op I was already super horny... (p.s. What does NVS mean?)

Hello... I seem not to be able to keep the peace... This is what happen. Hubby has a friend, and his friend is 66 years old. They were in the basement talking, and I happen to go down stairs to look for a scrap book since I didn't remember how many students my now 5 year old daughter has to send a few pieces of chocolate birthday cake. There was a social security conversation that hubby involve me in,and not to get into so much details hubby got up set with me because he feels I took his friend side since he said you are very slim, and I said yes I know, and ask my weight, and I reply 109 he said your going down to 100lbs. I said no I'm actually trying to gain a little weight.…

I hope this is not too much info for this forum. I just want to proclaim that I have finally mastered being on top during sex, and now it is my favorite option. I love being able to see him close and of course, being in control of the pace. This is the one position that eluded and frustrated me back when there was a lot more of me to love. It was awkward and embarrassing and always ended up with lots of apologizing on my part. This surgery has not only giving me a new lease on life, but it has opened doors to a sizzling sex life!

My husband was 260 last summer and held steady there for a good five years. He's always been heavier than me. I was 240 at my highest. Last fall he stopped eating Breakfast and lunch for four days a week. He's lost 65 lbs doing this and until i got surgery, he weighed less than me. He eats a massive dinner and Snacks on **** all night long. He loses about 2 lbs a week. Why? I know men lose faster and I know I don't want to pack all the unhealthy foods he eats into MY body. But it still upsets me. I'm working hard (and actually quite enjoying the ride bit still) and its slow going. It upsets me because it doesn't seem fair. I got my fat ass on a plane and flew to…

Has anyone gotten sterilized after surgery? I'm over 40 and my husband and I do not want any more little ones. We discussed IUDs but have decided on sterilization. I'm torn between tubal ligation and Essure. Has anyone had tubal implants? Any info is appreciated.

I can't take it anymore. My marriage is going down hill. I'm being excuse all the time of sleeping around. I can't go get cafe I'm taking supposedly 4 hours yeah right!!! If I go to the market that's another issue. I'm going to get my plastic surgery done there is no stopping me. I can pay my own bills after my surgery. I don't have much bills left to pay so that's a good thing. Well it's ashamed I wasted my whole life since I was a teenager with a man that has treated me like crap & had 3 kids. I'm ready willing and able to move on with my kids & finally be happy. I'm aging & if I continue in this relationship I'm going to become depress if I can't even…

I know I said I was going with the shot...but I just got a new position at work that will be changing my hours a bit and I will not have any days off during the week anymore to go to the doctors for shots. SO.....when I go at the end of this month I was thinking of asking about Nuvaring. I still am unsure about it. There are many things about it that make me nervous. But it would definitely be more convenient. Who has this and what are your experiences? I feel like it would kinda get lost lol...is it easy to put in and take out? Any issues at all? What about spotting? Falling out? Sex? Lighter Periods?

I've lost 42 pounds since March, so my size 20 bathing suits no longer fit me. Can you ladies recommend a place where I can get a halfway decent bathing suit without spending 50 bucks a pop or more? I'll just grow out of it by next summer anyway (I hope!)

I have lost about 23lbs. I am getting cramps and spotting also. Do you think my depo is not working? Should I switch birth controls?

...with NASTY high calorie, high carb foods!!!!! I'm pre-sleeve, but I've done so good and I haven't cheated in over a month! I've dropped 25 pounds, but today I binged . I had a hamburger, a soda, and later some nachos & an ice cream . Feeling really crappy, I want to throw up. I think I'm craving all these carbs because my Auntie Flow is coming in soon. Sigh... My healthy food eating self is so upset with me for cheating.

I'm over a week late, which is unusual for me. My husband has been snipped and I'm faithful. So where is AF? Do the accompanying hormone friends that come w the sleeve make AF wonky? Maybe it's my blood thinners I'm on? Google doesn't give me results in that. I feel crampy for a day and then nothing for a few. And so on. What gives?

So today was color, hi-lites and cut day. My husband met me at the salon, he needed a cut too. While my stylist was blowing my hair my husband noticed I have a spot that is on the balding side. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very vain when it comes to that s**t. My stylist said the hair is growing back. I did a new style, on the pixie side. Looks cute. I don't know how to put a picture on this site, sorry so I can't share. My hair color is red from birth, so it is colored a darkish red with blonde hi-lites and it looks great. I wear my hair over my ears, another vain thing, I wear hearing aids. Runs in my father's family. Getting older comes with it's side effects like he…

Did anyone else's hormones go nuts after surgery? I was sleeved 4/16. Shortly after that George jones died (I'm a huge country music fan just not this new country crap). I cried for days and still tear up if I hear one of his songs. That's not all. One minute I'm happy, the next I'm bawling like a baby. For no reason. My surgeon said that the more weight I lose, the more estrogen will be put in my body so my hormones would be whacked. I'm so tired of the ups and downs. I'm starting to even tear up writing this. Anyone else going/went through the same thing? It's embarrassing but my husband is really supportive but I know it must be driving him nuts, too. Any ideas for re…

Hello everyone. I found this site last month and come here quite a lot to see what's going on with everyone. I even reached out and made a friend here. The problem that I'm having is with my 'intented' mate (that's a whole other issue in its self). He was diagnosed with cancer June 2012 and went through six months of chemotherapy. I glad to say that the cancer is gone (Alhumdillah!). I was with him through the whole thing, doing the best I can with the distance we have between us. I told him about the sleeve and at first he was worried, then wanted me to send him all the information on the matter. It seemed like he was on board. We had a conversation and he was talki…

Hi, I'm having the gastric sleeve on May 8th and I'm worried about how my Mirena IUD is going to effect the surgery. I know you're suppose to stop all hormonal birth control pills because they increase your risk of blood clots but I can't stop the Mirena. I still have 4 years to go. Plus my return flights are 5 hours and 1.5 hours. Surgery plus the Mirena plus hours being seated make for Fear Factor in my mind. If you have the Mirena, what was your experience? Was your doctor concerned at all? Did you have to walk more? Did you do anything special to reduce your risk of clots?

I was sleeved April 26th but the second I started my period, I stalled. I'm wondering if there is a connection?? Maybe retaining water or something?? I also had Mirena put in March 10th so I know that spotting and what not are normal for the first 3-6 months, but this is an actual period and I've stopped losing weight for the last few days. Anybody have similarities or know anything about this??

I'm going on a long flight to Japan next week. I just got back from Chicago to CA yesterday and my butt hurt so bad after that 5 hr flight!! I can't imagine how I'm gonna feel once I get to Japan!! What have you all done on long periods of sitting? My butt just has no padding anymore. I shift my weight constantly to avoid the pain anymore than it has to be. Maybe a small pillow and getting up more? Please give me some ideas of what you guys have tried? Thank you. I'll ask my trainer, too...maybe booty blasters as he calls them might help (not with Japan trip) relieve this problem.

This may seem kind of lame to some people, so please leave your judgments and insults at the door. This is an important issue to me as I am seeking advice. This may seem like childs play to some; but like I said above, leave it at the door. I've been going out with my boyfriend for almost 4 months now. My boyfriend met my parents three weeks after we met. I just recently met his mom about a month ago and met his dad just last week. His brother is in town from New Hampshire and I really want to meet him, too. Family is very important to me. I come from a very small family so I adore times with them. My boyfriend sent me a text last night saying that they all were goin…

My husband and I met when we were young and fit and in the military. It is 13 years later with 3 kids and retirements. We packed on the weight together. He is at least 100lbs overweight, as am I. I had my gastric bypass surgery May 8 and I am recovering well. Except hubby keeps bringing up that I will leave him if he doesn't keep up with me in weightless, I want to reassure him, but at the same time I want him to make some changes. Anyone else go through this?

So, I'm 6 days post op and feeling pretty great except for ONE thing. My abdominal binder caused 2 tiny blisters on my waistline, on each side of my belly button. I've tried everything in my medicine cabinet to soothe them, I resorted to lancing and draining them myself, but they are STILL SO PAINFUL. I mean, these suckers are 100x more painful than any of my incisions. It's to the point that I can't even pull my shirt down or my pants all the way up - NOTHING can touch these blisters, even when I have them covered in 3 layers of gauze. I don't know what to do!! I didn't want to cry once from the surgery incisions, but these two very tiny blisters are killing me!!! …

Ok so I had my vsg on jan 29 i was 322 i am now 250 and I am hitting a wall. Its like my sex life is non existent. I feel more confident and sexy with my clothes on but I just do not hace any desire to Be intimate with my fiance. Its like my sex drive has been refocused on my running and eatting right. Any advice, does it ever level out? I feel bad that I dont satisfy him like ever anymore yet I used to be the one gearing up ready to go. So frusterated.
