  1. Started by Brittanie,

Ill keep this as clean as possible. Has anyone had issues with going #2? I was banded Jan 8th and by the second day I was in so much pain I was close to going to the ER. Several bottles of water with miralax, 2 enemas and some 'soul searching' to release the impact in my bowels I was much better. 6 months later...same situation. Except now im on vacation and don't have access to all the other things. I did some 'soul searching' this morning and this evening and finally got relief. This time was different because I had some blood as I relieved myself. What are you taking (daily or otherwise) to prevent hard and near impossible to pass stool? When I fly back tomorrow im…

I've had the Mirena IUD for a year now and I was wondering if anyone knows if I can keep it in during surgery. Most people say its ok because the hormone dose is pretty low.. Just want to make sure. I see my PCP tomorrow and the surgeon for Pre Op appointment next week so I will double check with them. Thanks

This is the first time in my life that I maintain or even lose weight during my menstrual cycle! I think my band is tighter during my cycle which makes me less hungry. Instead of craving sweets I actually don't want them and if I crave anything it's protein. I still have a long way to go, weight wise and life style changes but so far I am loving my band! (I was banded 3 1/2 months ago. I lost 30 lbs pre surgery and have lost 22 since!)

  4. Hi everyone - Hope this gives you a little laugh, or at least a smirk. First a quick bio - I'm a newbie, hoping to talk my husband into agreeing to my much needed VSG. He's not against the surgery, just the cost as our INS (Aetna) doesn't cover it. We're on a serious "paying down debt" deal right now which is great of course but kind of counter-productive to my evil scheme of persuading DH to part with thousands. But I WILL win !! Anyway, here's what happened yesterday. I was reading our local paper and saw a big ad for a hospital that was beginning a physician assisted weight loss program. My interest was piqued so I called. A young girl (receptionist - sounded …

I was told yesterday I have to have a Hysterectomy ASAP! I've been reading as much as I can and everything I read says you will gain weight. I'm 14 months out from my sleeve and I've lost 125 pounds. I do go to the gym 6 days a week for an hour and a half. I do eat the way I'm suppose to. I'm still scared of gaining weight back. Has any one else had a total Hysterectomy since their sleeve?

  7. Ok, so its not exactly how it sounds but Friday I will finally become a mom... and it's a boy! I have been trying to adopt for over a year and he is coming to live with me this weekend. After four months of rushed evening visits and having to take him back after a weekend stay, he is finally coming home for good. This was one of the reasons I had the surgery--so that I could be a healthy and active mom. I still have a ways to go, but I feel better than I have in many many years. These last months have been life changing, and the surgery was the best thing I could have ever done for myself!

I've noticed that I'm losing more and more hair in the shower after surgery. My hair is getting thinner and I feel like i'm going to be bald before its all over. Anyone else lose hair? I'm 3 months post op. If you did lose hair when did it finally stop falling out or has it? Have you been taking anything for it that works? I just want my thick hair back

There are some things I know I wouldn't wear even if I fit into them again, but then again, I don't want to get caught ...well with my pants down . What If I don't lose weight as fast as I think I'm going to? My closet is out of control and I just want to purge it!!!! This is mostly mental, but physically, my closet is a mess too!!! I am 25lbs from my goal and I refuse to buy any new clothes or panties until I reach it. Idk why I am so excited about buying skinny girl panties!!!! Maybe it's because I've always had to wear granny panties and there is nothing sexy about that lol. My poor hubby ha.The ones I have now are old with holes but I will not buy any until I can fit in the sexy ones like what I envision myself in!!

  13. When I was obese, I was ironically, invisible. Men looked right through me. And if there were men who may have still found me attractive, I still found fault with their attentions, reasoning that they must have a fat fetish which is every bit as objectifying as someone who only dates skinnies, and it is still someone being interested in a superficial aspect of you, not YOU. right? So then I became not-obese, and then I got fit and almost trim (all the excess skin kept me from really looking buff) and suddenly I was visible. Men not only saw me, they pursued me, doggedly and I discoved that this kind of attention is just as saddening/depressing/disappointing as the in…

It feels like a knife stabbing me deep inside. The first few inches are just fine. But the deeper, the more pain. Last night, I was with someone new and it was totally embarrassing. I was sleeved on 1/23/13 and for the last few days I've been having some severe pains in my left breast. It doesn't bother me too much when I'm wearing a bra but when I'm not I get these sharp pains. I'm thinking it's probably not related to surgery but just thought I'd ask if anyone has experienced this-just in case I'm not alone. Thanks! -Betsy

  31. Whilst I am looking fairly proportionate in my clothes, the problem I had pre weight loss remains - my boobs are way too big for the rest of me. (Including pre surgery, have lost 58lbs, 20-ish to go.) They were 40g, now a 34 hh. Good bra makes them look ok in clothes but undressed they look ridiculous in the context of my shrinking frame :-( Went yesterday to buy a dress for an upcoming posh dinner and was so disappointed that despite my new size, I still can't get a dress that fits top and bottom :-( So, to you girls who have had breast reduction, when did you get yours done post surgery? And did you get the timing right? Thanks...

I was so SO proud of my size 10 Levis, even though I had to pour myself into them and had to wear a tunic length top to hid my front pouchiness, the fact is is that they fit and they made my but look goo-ood! Today, I am wearing a pair of khakis from Old Navy, Diva cut straight leg, they fit perfect ... and they are a size 18. *sob* *weep* NOOOO!! I still have the Levis, I look at them in sorrow.

It sounds great, but the reality of it is that our fitness and athletic abilities are so far apart that I can't even join him on a recreational bike ride. So I'm engaged and my fiancé and I have been together for over two years now. We've even flown to Europe to meet my family together, we have a ridiculously expensive trip to Antarctica booked this fall, we've lived together for over a year now, etc. But lately I find I'm not attracted to him at all. There are, naturally, some things about him that irritate me, like complete lack of desire to improve his health while constantly complaining about falling apart and what not, but really, the biggest worry to me is that he basically disgusts me physically. I went through a stage where I had no sex drive, so of course, I was not terribly attracted to him then, but now I'm fin…

I thought long and hard and I have severe sleep apnea, hb, and pcos, and truly need this to get healthy, be around longer for him and our kids, and possibly have a chance to have another baby. I'm just wondering why everyone's having different test done before surgery. Why are some having stress test and others EKG? I had EKG done two days ago and now I'm looking at some pics of pre op patients having stress test done and not EKG. It kind of worried me why the stress test wasn't done on me . I was actually cleared for surgery by my cardio but why not a stress test? I didn't think of this when I was at my appointment but now I am. What if they missed something? My cardio doc said I have a very low risk of heart failure during surgery. Anyone know why some cardio doctors do stress test and others EKG?

Lord have mercy my boobs are like slinkies or something. They are sagging, literally a few inches from my belly button and are so "wobbly." I have gone down quite a bit but am still wearing a D cup but because of the loss of breast tissue or whatever they are so pliable. Really like a slinky. I kind of mold them into the bra but they just don't sit right, they spill this way or that way and are still saggy. What bra have you found to be really supportive and uplifting? I don't know that I will ever have the money or truly make the plunge to get a breast lift, so my bra is my first line of defense. Suggestions?
