  1. Congratulations! I like you wanted to have the pantry "stocked" in anticipation for the recovery period. Truth is, you are not "down" that long and you can go out and shop for these items within a few days of your surgery. For a dense shake, i like the premier Protein chocolate shake. You can find them at food LIon or wholesale clubs like Bj's. My go to is the unjury unflavored protein. I mix it with flavor packets from the grocery store. You can change up the flavors much easier than buying a whole "tub" of one flavor. I use walmarts brand of Blueberry acai drink mix. I also use the TRUE orange mango mix that i get at Harris Teeter grocery store. I tried the Isopure from GNC and hated it. Do look for sample packets you can purchase if you want to go that route. You are on your way to a healthier you!

  13. My sleeve sister! I think we are almost identical.. My procedure was at 11:15. My hubby went to get our daughter off the bus . I too felt that I needed tone up and chipper too. Luckily I wasn't nauseous until I got to my room. The transport left a lot to be desired. I was bumped, rattled and sped through the halls pretty bad. I'm thinking what have I done, and in the same thought, hey, it's done. I'm gonna love and respect and take care of my new sleeve. Glad you are doing great. G'nite

  15. Everything went great! My hubby and daughter just left . He just brought her here. No catheter, no drains. Pain is minimal. Haven't used the morphine except just after I got up to my room a couple of times and that was 4 hours ago. I hope all the September sleevers have a smooth surgery HW. 237 Today 222 5'5.

  19. So I'm getting sleeved on Tuesday and I went and picked up my "VAT" of hydrocodone. 15 Mls sure seems like a lot to get in on a fresh sleeve.. I will take it slow of course, but it just seems like there should be a higher dose maybe so I could take a smaller amount. Anyone else have this large of a dose?
  20. Wow! I've never seen a bear claw before!!!! Is that a northern delicacy??

  22. 41 more to go!!! Shakes !!!! that is.....Pre-op diet starts today!!! I apologized to my husband for anything I may say or do in the next two weeks. I told him it wouldn't be me..... It's the hunger taking over. Lol! I know it will be fine. I think humor will have to get me through it . I may not be so chipper in 3 more days ...... It's starting to get real now folks....
  23. I'm 46 and I feel like I'm 60. I'm 5'5 and 235. I'm getting sleeved Sept 10. I feel like this surgery will make me feel like I'm in my 30's again. Am I kidding myself? Am I going to be smaller, but still feel like I'm 60? I just think with less weight and working out more i will have more energy. I just have no get up and go. What have you 40's ladies who have been sleeved noticed in your energy level?
  24. I am sept 10 th as well. Start my diet on Tuesday !

  26. Has anyone purged your closet pre op only to regret it later? There are some things I know I wouldn't wear even if I fit into them again, but then again, I don't want to get caught ...well with my pants down . What If I don't lose weight as fast as I think I'm going to? My closet is out of control and I just want to purge it!!!! This is mostly mental, but physically, my closet is a mess too!!! Any advice would be appreciated.
  27. I am sept 10th also and have huge same preop diet. I can have natural peanut butter, non starchy vegetables and one time a week I can have 3 oz of grilled chicken or fish. I'm so excited and nervous. I am in North Carolina!

  30. I work in a cancer center. If you saw what I had to see on a daily basis, you would never pick it back up. It's just not worth it. I know it's hard to quit , I do, but if you can do the surgery and everything you need to do post op, then you have the strength to quit smoking. Good luck. Wishing the best for you.
