I already have my list for what Im bringing to the hospital. I feel like I'm missing something. Any ideas? Ive yet to buy my multi vitamins and my calcium chews. My next appt I will need to buy my shakes and begin my liquid diet. I would love to have some friends who are taking the same journey as me..someone who can relate..thanks in advance!!xoxo

Hi Jodi! I'm Sept 10 also!!!

That's great! Lets keep in touch! If I learn any techniques I will let you know! Have you finished ur pre op diet..the liquid diet? Im going to start mines on the 3. I still need to grocery shop for it..

September 23rd for me, in Overland Park, KS. Seems like everything is happening so fast. I get a little nervous if I spend time and start thinking about it. I have 4 kids so that is constantly on my mind (what if I am the 1%). I try not to think that way though, try to stay more positive. All in all the wife is being really supportive and looking forward to the new me!!!

I am on day 2 of my liquud diet for dinner i am freezing a shake. I blended vanilla ice cream flavored GNC Protein powder and skim milk and put it in the freezer. Hoping it turns out yummy! My surgery is September 5th

I'm September 10 also. I just did all my pre-op stuff on Wednesday. Found out my Vitamin D is low enough to put me on prescription strength Vitamin D for the next 8 weeks. I will start my pre-op diet on the 3rd and have all the shake mixes for that but still need to buy some of the approved clear liquids to add to it. Turned in my FMLA stuff to HR today. I haven't shopped for any post op things yet nor have I thought about my hospital bag. Honestly I'll probably do most of that the weekend before. I did get my vitamins ordered so I can have them available the 3rd when I need to start them. Starting to feel excited and very, very nervous.

My surgery is scheduled for September 12th!! I only have a one week liquid diet and my last appt with the nut and RN is next Friday! Has anyone heard of or used the Herbalife shake powder, you can add xtra protein and flavorings like extracts, etc? They are delicious!

My scheduled day is September 12. I do all my pre-op on Sept. 5. I will start my liquid preop diet on Aug. 29. Time seems to be moving along at a good clip. ..so excited.

My surgery is 9/17 with Fernando Garcia. Hello everyone, I am excited and very nervous!!

Hiii everyone they have me down for either the 10th or 11th i will get a definate answer of which day on monday the reason why it's not a set date yet between these two is because my Dr works in 2 different hospitals and the technology in 1 of them is more advanced so he does it with the Robot so they are trying to book my surgery to be robotic but if the robotic OR isn't available i will still have it done just regular Dr hands-on way sooo getting extremely nervous i too have 3 beautiful children and the worry of being that 1% is really getting to me, hubby asked me last night if i was scared i said yes very he said me too but he also said i know and have faith that you will be in God's hands which was very comforting too me =) anyways good luck 2 all of us i will post my exact date on monday even though today i was told that the 10th looks pretty much all set for me.

Hi all

My date is Sept 10. I'm on my fourth day of my pre-op diet (I have to do 3 weeks because of a high BMI but I'm under the cutoff now because I lost 8 lbs before I even started the diet! I'm 12 lbs down now, hopefully I'll lose another 10 before the surgery so there is no doubt my BMI is below 49 (otherwise I have to pay an extra $1000).

Hello, Nice to meet all of you other September Sleevers! I am so ready for my surgery! I had a 6 month wait for my insurance so I feel I have been preparing for awhile now. Three cheers for all of us making it this far. Here's to the rest of the journey!

I'm September 9th

There's 2 things I've found that not a lot of people talk about for the hospital

1) a pillow for a couple reasons

-after any major surgery there is gas build up, you have 5-7 incisions on your belly, or if you cough, & for the ride home to help block the seatbelt.

2) gas X strips. Not much explanation here, it doesn't take 100% but it's suppose to help A Lot.

I have 4 kids as well, I've struggled with the what if's. but I've come to grips, that if I don't correct myself now, I won't be around as long. My hubby is there for me either way. The most he really has said is he wants to grow old with me. I took over a year thinking if this was my right choice. I know what I want & where I want to go & be.

Good luck on your journey.
