Anyone go thru malley
Yup. That was tough. I was so excited to eat cottage cheese and refried beans. Good luck. Maybe I'll see you at one of the support group meetings at menorah.

Any september 2013 sleevers?
Had my surgery sept. 23rd. Started at 350. Weighed myself on Monday and am currently at 231. I'm not as dedicated as some. I do watch portion size and look at sugar and fat content. Am currently training for a half marathon, so that helps me keep the metabolism going. Try to keep the calorie intake in between 1200 - 1600 calories.

Really well. I was moving around fine 4 days after surgery. I have had a really positive experience so far. I am down 110 pounds and still losing. Currently training for a half marathon. Love the new me. Wife doesn't complain either. Hope the best for you.

Post op
I just had my second protein shake since my surgery and it is literally making me sick. I'm trying to increase my calories and protein, but man it really sucks right now.

Doctor gave me the go ahead!
I had my one month appointment yesterday and my surgeon said I can move forward with my eating. I told him that I was kind of scared to eat regular foods and was worried about hurting myself. He said there is nothing that can happen at this time forward. I haven't thrown anything up and he told to eat whatever I wanted in moderation. Still going to stay away from sweets and breads for a bit. Not sure what to eat in reality. Kind of getting use to the healthy foods. He was concerned about my calorie intake... I have been averaging 400-500 calories a day. I need 1200-1500. Could be why he wants me eating more. I also got the ok to start running and lifting weights again.

September 2013 sleevers..Requesting sleeve buddies :)
Like Montiep, this has been an easy transition. The first night in the hospital was uncomfortable mainly because the nurses kept coming in and doing vitals. Gas and Nausea were a pain as well. Nausea only lasted 2 days, and gas comes and goes, no real pain anymore though. I am drinking Water from a glass now, instead of from a 1oz cup. Doctor commented when I went to get the drain out 4 days later, that I was moving around really well. So far I have lost 31 pounds (I haven't weighed myself since the last doctor visit), and can easily see the potential for a new me! Good luck to the rest of the September sleevers. I realize how lucky I am with my surgery. I hope those who haven't been as fortunate gets better soon.

Preop diet how much weight lost?
Day three was the hardest I think. They brought donuts and pizza in for work. It was very difficult to drink my protein shake with those in the same building. Once I was over that it was pretty easy.

September 23rd sleevers!
I just found a negative side effect of the surgery. My uvula is swollen. Doesn't hurt but it is very irritating. I assume it was from the tube they put down my throat during surgery. Anybody else have this?

September 23rd sleevers!
I guess I lucked out. I have really not felt any pain. not even from the incisions (where the drain is at or where they removed my stomach.) I did feel uncomfortable in the hospital trying to sit up and get out of bed. I did throw up once (which was the worst of the whole ordeal). But all in all, it has been a decent experience for me. Surgeon was pretty cool to boot as well. Hope everyone's surgery was a success. Looking forward for the results that will come.

September 23rd sleevers!
Doing better today. I have slept a lot. Did not use as much pain medicine as the hospital thought I would, but the nausea was horrible. Threw up once on one of my walks and thought I was dying. Was released yesterday and have been off and on passes out. Trying to drink as much as I can, but it is difficult.

Last day... the whole no food thing for today has gone pretty good. Not even hungry. Anxious/Nervous/Scared for tomorrow morning.

September 23rd sleevers!
23rd as well. I got a new surgeon so I wouldn't have to postpone my surgery (my original was in admitted to the hospital and is unavailable for 3 to 4 weeks.) I'm not nervous, but a little scared. I was packing up things at my desk from work, and couldn't help but kind of getting emotional looking at the pics of my kids. My surgery is around 9 AM (show up at the hospital at 7). Fingers crossed.
