Almost 9 months out WoW!

Hii betterbeginnings and welcome i can honestly say that from my part the only regret i have is the "why didn't i do this sooner" i mean i'm still young but i feel i lost soo much time being and feeling sick, feeling miserable, stuck for 15+ years not being able to enjoy life, unhealthy with poor self esteem and could have done so much more with my kids and family but i am thankful that i did it because it has been like a new beginning new life and i wouldn't change it for the world =)
5. Hi Josh first off Congrats 2 you, and don't feel alone i am almost 9 months out and still can't finish one Protein shake a day the first few months were bad i couldn't stand the smell of the shakes i didn't start drinking them again untill almost 5 months out once i was cleared for solid foods at week 7 i then got my protein from meats, egg, cheese, yogurt etc and water did not taste the same after surgery i just didn't want it and could drink very little of it, but hang in there it gets better i promise

Thank you Krystal0528 =) Congrats 2 you i was in the hospital for 3 days my sugar was a bit out of wack my potassium was low and i had a bit of fever, but i'm glad ur home, fluids and protein were hard for me as well i actually could not even stand the smell of the shakes after surgery never mind the taste and it lasted a few months but got better as months went by i still can't finish a whole shake once i open it soo i get as much protein as i can through meats, egg, cheese, yogurts etc i had to be patient and just let my body adjust i literally felt like a preggo the first maybe 3 months lol, the smell of certain foods, the taste, weakness, dizziness even me myself i felt that as i was going through the (ketosis phase) i didn't understand why the smell of my breath had changed i felt soo bad everytime i had to talk to someone up close, i just felt like overall my body smelled different if that makes any sense but i had my husband reminding me constantly "no worries honey in a few months from now you'll look back and see that it has all past and all was worth it" and sure enough it has passed, it is behind me and i am a completely NEW person, my advice one day at a time, stay active, get used to carrying a bottle of Water everywhere you go and remember no 2 bodies are the same so don't compare urself to others, patience patience patience just focus and do u, stalls will come just keep doing what you gotta do they will break through =) take care and Congrats again!

Thanks missbrown30 =) when i was cleared by my doc to excercise i just kept it simple i would walk 30 minutes 3 to 4 times a week as time past and i felt better i started going to the gym and walking doing cardio for 45 minutes to an hour and a half 5 times a week then i got too busy but i tried to stay as active as possible so i still walk but i have added a few outdoor activities that i now do with my kids like jogging, bike riding, playing tennis and i try to do atleast 4 to 5 times a week or as much as i can my goal is to go back to the gym and start weights to get some tonning going on =)

15. Hiii everyone, i just wanted to take the time to do an update i just realized that i am 6 months post op today i was sleeved on September 10th 2013 and what can i say other than i am so thankful at the opportunity life has given me its like being reborn again. Back in July 2013 my health took a toll for the worst, that is when my doctor recommended i get Bariatric Surgery because loosing weight would be the only way 2 control my PCOS symptoms i finally decided to do something about it and went ahead and started my WL journey i was then 250 lbs my highest weight ever being 5'1 it wasn't good at all for me along with my PCOS i started having back problems, knee problems, achillis tendons problems, ankles were always swollen, my BP had started to get out of control, along with a few other things. Today at 6 months i couldn't be happier with the way i feel, today i no longer use any medications, i am still in shock when i see myself in the mirror in my head i still think of myself sometimes as being heavy even though i know i am not and peoples reaction when they see me is priceless =) words will never describe how Amazing this journey has been and how i feel i thank God first and for most and my awesome doctor Scott Shikora and Team for giving me this second chance in life my highest weight was 250, today at 6 months post op i am 147 lbs and still counting even my doctor was amazed when i saw him last month he said and i quote (remember we spoke that people who are sleeved loose about 50-60% of their excess weight well you have lost already 75% of your excess weight) he was sooo happy my goal is 135 i am very close i went from size 22 or 2x 3x to my now size 6 and that size is now fitting loose so am i Happy? Heck yeaaah i am Extreeeeemely Happyyyyy! 88 lbs since September 10th (day of surgery i was 235lbs) total weight loss 103 lbs from when i was 250 lbs till now i'll take it! =)))

Thanks iamblessed1225 Congrats 2 you i can assure you you've made the right desicion. As far as advice, like i've been telling everyone just take it a day at a time it will be overwhelming at times, scary, frustrating, you'll cry you'll laugh but if all i do from my post is help you remember that it will all pass and in the end you will see that it is ALL worth it then i am one happy lady don't compare your progress or journey to others because no 2 people will be the same you are you and as that focus on you and your journey which means your health, you will hear some say good and some say bad about your desicion, but nothing matters more than YOU and YOUR health and last but not least do what you gotta do Vitamins, Water, Protein and stay as active as you can you will do GREAT, Blessings 2 you =)

Almost 9 months out WoW!

Hi brightlikeadiamond and thank you hun i am 5'1 and yes our HW and SW were the same wow Congrats to you =) i too feared i was gonna be a slower looser and to me i was but because i was always comparing myself to others forgetting that we all have different bodies that work at different pace and ways, diffrent heights, weights, and age so my advice is take it a day at a time, remember every one is different i had a few stalls myself my biggest was 2 months with no loss at all which scared me i kept doing what i had to do and sure enough it started back up stay positive you got this just focus on YOU and YOUR journey

Thank you kalai i'm glad i can be of inspiration i completely understand how u feel i felt the same way i was scared because i thought i was going to be a slow looser and everytime someone would ask me what my goal was i wouldn't dare say even though it was in my head 135 but i didnt want to say it to anyone because of fear of not reaching the goal but here i am almost 9 months out and if i did it i know you will too sooo keep ur head up, think positive you got this Congrats 2 you

Hi Goddardgo i haven't had any surgery at all other than the sleeve, my doctor did ask if i had any loose skin that was bothering me he said i could keep a journal of any rashes etc that i may have or get because when i am a year out he could refer me to a surgeon for tummy tuck if i thought i needed it and my insurance could cover it if they didn't think it was for cosmetic reasons, but honestly i personally feel great with the way i look yes i have a bit of loose skin in my upper arms and my belly i honestly was expecting it to look horrific but it's not just stretch marks from pregnancies and i'm ok with that i guess i was lucky =) thank you though
