Eating Carbs Post VSG
I was told to eat them last..to get in a the protein on my plate first since we are only able to eat a little, then eat your carbs. However I'm gonna be honest..I rarely eat any heavy carbs..potatoes, rice, bread...it all fills me up too fast and it's a stuffed feeling. So I stay away from that stuff.

Support from Spouse/Family

Types of Protein ok?
I remember my NUT saying something bad about Muscle Milk..maybe it's the carbs? But if you're good with it go ahead. Or maybe call and check...
-
Types of Protein ok?
I would be careful, those are not high in protein and they contain a lot of sugar and carbs...if I were you I would go out to Costco and get some Premier Protein shakes..they are pre-made but high in protein and they taste good. Then maybe order some Nectar whey protein online off amazon or Bariatric choice...I wish you well.

I agree...I only told 2 people my best friend and daughter because I honestly didn't want anyone else's opinion...or negative feedback. Now 50lbs and 5 months later...I am ecstatic! I only needed 60 lbs I'm almost to goal. My BMI was 35.7. But no more blood pressure Med's, little pain in my back and joints, I sleep better, stairs are easier..I love it!!! Great message Jessica..

Family and Recovery
Trust me unless she's just too much you want here there. Your recovery may be flawless but if it's not having someone there to tell you it's going to be alright and support you when you have an anxiety attack, or has pain or vomiting will be priceless. Support is key ...your mind will tell you you want steak & gravy but your body will tell you the opposite and that could make you sad. I was okay with it..I fortunately didn't get depressed but I've heard stories. Just to be on the safe side let her come ..it couldn't hurt.
