Oh my myyyyyyy dinner was so good!

Recommended Posts

This was dinner tonight. I am at 3 months post op and could only eat a few bites of the salad (none of the apple) and a couple of tiny bites of the cheese broccoli but the lobster was so so good. So if you are on a liquid diet at this point take heart because this is in your future and time flies by!

Your very welcome! That is why I posted this because I was sitting there looking at a beautiful dinner 47 pounds lighter than 3 months ago and I knew life was heading in a terrific direction. I wanted to share that with others because I know what that liquid diet and early post op life was like. By the way I didn't drink the ice tea! Took it home in a to go cup. I always do that because I love brewed tea and it is great for later! :)

So excellent! I can't wait to be there. Went to Dave & Busters tonight (just opened) and had just sides. Not many choices for a sleever 6 weeks out. Managed three broiled shrimp and some zucchini, squash and peppers. By the time I had two shrimp down, the boys devoured their burger and fries. I wasn't sad or missing it though, thought I would. It will be lobster soon!!!!!

When I first started eating out again I went for the fish and shrimp mainly and honestly still do a lot of the times. Tonight's dinner was the best experience out so far! I went into that restaurant wondering what I was going to find on the menu and they had a special on them and I just said "Jackpot!" At that moment I knew there was life after liquids and post op recovery! :)

Hang in there!! I promise there is a life after liquids and newly post op! If I were you I would start gathering recipes off of the forum and there are some good ones on fb also. This will help you during this time to get ready for your next stage which is real food! It's tough when you are first sleeved and always tired and struggling to get all your liquids and Proteins in. However this will pass and you will start a whole new life of healthy eating that will transform your body and outlook on life. I promise! Best thing after the restraunt......My daughter (age 22)and I went to the ocean for a little while and a guy walks buy in just a towel, waves at us, my daughter says "do you think he is naked?"

my reply "I do believe he is!" He waves and walks past us and keeps looking back to see if we are still there and I looked at my daughter and said I bet he drops that towel. Just about that time the towel drops and he is one with nature!! We busted out laughing and he just kept on walking down the beach! Thought that would make you smile! True story!! :)

As a pre-sleever (October), I'm encouraged by these posts. My question: does food still taste as good as before the sleeve?

Food tastes great to me but my tastes buds have changed. I don't crave sweets like chocolate anymore. I crave healthy foods like chicken and broccoli. Lately I've started craving fruit. I promise you that I never would have said that before my surgery, which was July 26th. Lol

At first some things tasted a little stronger and 1 or 2 things I no longer like but for the most part my taste has stayed in place. I to however do not crave sweet things any more either. My body does crave the vegetable like crazy more than anything else. :)

On my blog, I post photos once in a while of what I eat, and how much I eat. If you need any more reassurance that soon, all of you will be enjoying yummy food, go there and search for "what I eat" and you will see some of the wonderful, normal foods that await you--and keep in mind I'm only 6 weeks out and have only been eating food for 3 of those.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
