Sooo... Tmi But Has Anyone Ever Had An Infected Belly Button?
endless80 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never in my life have, until now. Apparently, and please correct me if I am wrong but this seems to be common among folks who lose a lot of weight quickly. I'm actually bleeding from my belly button. The area around it is a little red but there isn't much discomfort. The discharge doesn't smell horrible so I don't think the infection is that bad. I've been cleaning it out multiple times a day. I don't have any fever or even as much discharge today that I had 2 days ago which is why I haven't been to see a doctor. Plus my doctor cannot work with my work schedule right now which is a little annoying. Anyways, if you've ever had an infected belly button... how did you get rid of it? -
Quest for sure. You can go online and find coupons usually for GNC and when you partner those up with their in store sales it's a really good deal. Once time I got 17 bars for about $10.

So lately I've been having some hip discomfort. Primarily when I lay/sit down. I guess it doesn't help that I have absolutly no ass anymore and when I sit down on a hard surface I can feel my hips beneith me. Is this some big secret skinny people keep from the rest of the world?! That any hard surface is uncomfortable to sit on? LOL but I digress... I hear that your hips lose the cushion of fat and start rearranging and causes discomfort. I'm also feeling a slight burning sensation running down my left leg which I attribute to my ciatic nerve due to the hip discomfort I've been experiencing. It doesn't HURT HURT (yet) but it's more of a discomfort. Am I the only one? If not, has any of you seen a doctor about it? Excersizes or any recommendations? I will make an appoitment with my PCP but it wont be for at least another 2 weeks. Alan

Yes you will. But honestly it wont be the same. I am 11 months out and I get a craving for a coke every once in a while. I drink a little bit and I'm done. I always throw half of the 20 ounce away. With that said, I can drink beer with no problem. I also waited till I was about 6 months out to try anything carbonated.

Sleeve doubles in size after 1 year?
endless80 replied to luvzpitbullz's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am about 10 months out and there are times I can eat more than others. For example, the other day I ate 3/4ths of a slice of pizza where before I could only eat about half of a regular slice (if that). I'm at goal so it don't matter much. I have finally found balance. I should post plate before and afters since I'm coming up on my 1 year soon. -
Been almost three years since my surgery

So let me get this straight. You came here to brag that you've lost weight by eating as unhealthy as you can? Congrats on the weight loss but your story is hardly an inspiration to anyone. -

questions for my plant based friends
endless80 replied to zsnaani's topic in Vegetarian or Vegan Eating
I am a Vegetarian and have been for the last 5 week or so. In thee last 5 weeks I have lost over 15 pounds which was much quicker than the weight loss I experienced when I wasn't a Vegetarian (besides when I first got the sleeve done last September). Now I'm 2 pounds from goal and I feel like this is THE BEST decision for me. And before anyone jumps on the Protein bandwagon, I get plenty of it. I feel great and I am doing my best to contribute to a better environment for the planet and my body. Eating meat is completely unnecessary in todays world. -
I was just given a basic EKG for my heart, it took all of 5 minutes and for the lungs portion I had an ex ray of my lungs and they did tests with me blowing into some machine to test my lung function. I'm an ex cigarette smoker as well so I was kind of worried about what the pulmonologist (sp?) would find but he didn't find anything. Ironically, the psychologist was the hardest one for me and that's only because she had me take a 2 hour long test to see if I was bat shit cray cray, which I wasn't. lol

Weight gain panic?
endless80 replied to jennynoblemiller's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I blame sodium intake and Water retention. Keep an eye on that. For me it would take a good 3-5 days for the water retention to subside. -
Oh sorry I didn't realize you already did. lol

So why don't you just eat one and go about your life?

I Am So Angry When People Think Surgery Is The Easy Option!
endless80 replied to Tartan-Tiger's topic in Rants & Raves
Omg you're SO right. I get the most crap from the overweight people in my life and it's always the skinny, healthy ones who have been so supportive of me. Weird how that works. -
Is a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle healthy with the sleeve?

Has anyone here done this and been successful at it? If so, can we hear your story? I'm fascinated. Alan -
I Am So Angry When People Think Surgery Is The Easy Option!
endless80 replied to Tartan-Tiger's topic in Rants & Raves
I used to get pissed at this but then I thought about it, it kind of is an easier option which is why most of us do it. Let's just start being honest with ourselves. The only time I've noticed myself getting offended at someone's ignorance though is when they use that idea that it's an easier option to trivialize my opinions about weight loss. As if I have no say in the matter at all. As if I didn't risk my life to lose 100+ And honestly, it's usually the fattest people who do that because their addicted to their own vices and I challenge them. And I've literally said to someone 'don't you dare trivialize my experience and hard work because you can't handle it.' Shut them up real quick. You have to re-find your power when you make decisions like this. People are only bullies if you let them bully you. When you lose weight, no matter how you do it, everyone will internalize and personalize your experience to them. -
Is a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle healthy with the sleeve?
endless80 replied to endless80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not sure I believe this myth. There is an abundance of vegetable protein sources out there. meat may have concentrated amounts of protein but it certainly doesn't corner the market on adequate protein sources. Where do you think the animal gets its protein from? The plants it eats. -
Need so veterans help
endless80 replied to rebecca61885's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It's acid reflux. I've woken up choking on it before and could easily see how someone would/could throw up. Try Prilosec and see if that works. -
So as a gift to myself for losing over 100 pounds, I bought a new car!
endless80 posted a topic in The Lounge
I am a Toyota guy and lately I've been seeing some ads for the new 2014 Corolla and so as a gift to myself and having lost 111 pounds now... I decided that a new body should come with a new car. So I replaced my 2005 Corolla with a 2014 Corolla. And she's AWESOME. And because I'm totally worth it. -
After three days I'm still ticked at my husband!
endless80 replied to katesuccess's topic in Rants & Raves
That's okay, my significant other ignored my birthday. Just ignored it. Wished me a happy birthday in the morning, I was out of state and traveled home that day to spend the evening and nothing. Not a card, not a gift, not anything. 3 days later I brought it up because it was starting to bug me at that point. The birthday was made up to me later AFTER I said something about it and a year later I'm still a little salty about it every time I think about it for too long. We're all inherently flawed. -

My first recipie here.. Almond Crusted Talapia and Parmesan Spinach.

Okay so I've been cooking a lot more lately and I have found that when I eat clean (meaning as little preservatives, gluten and processed crap) I tend to lose more weight quicker, feel better and actually get adequate amounts of nutrition. I made this dinner the other night and let me tell you, it was delicious. Absolutely great Almond Crusted Tilapia fried in Coconut Oil and Creamy Parmesan Spinach. Healthy fats, good Protein and rich greens. Ingredients: Tilapia (I like to go for wild caught instead of farmed) 2 TbleSP Coconut Oil Salt, Pepper, Onion powder, Garlic (to taste) Almond Flour 1 package Organic spinach (It doesn't have to be organic). 3 tablespoons cream cheese 2-3 tablespoons parm cheese Melt your coconut oil in pan. Coat the Tilapia with your seasoning and each side dusted with almond flour. Place in pan for 2-3 minutes on each side letting it cook all the way through. Remove all the Water out of the spinach and warm it up on stove, gradually stirring in the cream cheese and parm cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. So simple and loaded with healthy fats, great source of protein and dark leafy veggies. I was able to eat half of the tilapia piece and almost half of the spinach. It was delicious. ENJOY! -

How long to "feel" better
endless80 replied to Gettinsmall's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 6'2 and 360 pounds. My knees hurt and I had some back issues. The good thing about your body is that once the weight starts coming off your body starts to heal up very quickly. The inflammation that caused these kinds of aches and pains is reduced. My snoring was reduced to nothing within 2 months so I was sleeping better and because I was sleeping better I didn't feel the need to carb load and that helped a lot. I lost weight fast and once the pain does subside and you're actually able to move you wont even realize it, you'll just wake up one day and feel good. It's a great feeling to know you did the right thing for yourself. -
Just wish I could make a decision!
endless80 replied to ren0318's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Personally, I would avoid the Lap Band. It seems to (just my perception) not be as effective and a lot of people (even on these forums) hate their decision to get the Lap Band and do end up reversing the procedure and going ahead with the Sleeve or the Bypass. Good luck in your decision. I got the sleeve and honestly it was the best decision for me. I have a friend who has the bypass and her dumping syndrome scares me a little bit. Plus I've lost more weight than her in the first 6 months then it took her a year to lose and she had more weight than me to lose overall. But I also remember my surgeon telling me that if a patient has diabetes or sugar issues they would always recommend the bypass because of the dumping syndrome, and some patients actually like that reassurance. Whatever you choose, we'll support you.
