So I am having the worst day ever! It all actually started two days ago when I was reamed a new one by my boss's boss! Things have went downhill from there. I can't really get into details but because of my mistake a couple of potential problems have arisen. Now others at my office are talking about me and I feel embarrassed. There is no one I can really talk to as it is a small group and they tend to talk behind each others backs. My boss sometimes does it and I don't even think sometimes she realizes she does it. Anyway, just wanted to vent again (in case you read my post the other day) since things have gotten worse since then.

Ok Ladies I need some help. I love love love love to shop! On a recent shopping trip for some necessities for my 2 boys I decided that I will pick up some items for my post-surgery weight loss. I was looking to buy some clothes from a size 24 down to a 16. Just a few items nothing serious. As I was skimming through the smaller sizes I could not wrap my mind around that I may possibly be in those size 20, 18, or 16 pants and found myself so stressed out that I said forget it and just purchased some summer items in my now size 24. Once I arrived home I was down in the dumps about not being able to wrap my mind around purchasing smaller clothing. Have any of you ladies…

Hey ladies, I'm expecting my period next week - I will be smack in the middle of my pre op diet. I am nervous about what is generally a major chocolate and salty Snacks craving. Any words of wisdom? Also, does this continue post-banding? I am guessing it might - wisdom there appreciated as well! Thanks!!

So I got ripped a new one by my boss's boss!!! I won't get into details so as to protect privacy. Part of what I was chewed out for was my fault and part was not. Never-the-less, I feel just awful and am embarassed to show my face back at work. I suffer from what I refer to as "good girl syndrome". I always want to be good at my job and put alot of pressure on myself to show I am dependable. I feel like I have let others down. I tend to harp on certain things and this is one of them. I will fret over this for weeks. I wish I could just let it go and move on. I feel like everyone at work will be talking about me behind my back! Anyway, just wanted to vent! I feel better. T…

I am being sleeved in 6 weeks and 1 day, and I am experiencing a flutter of emotions. The most powerful emotion is excitement!! I see my body like clay and I am sculpture making a masterpiece. I have been exercising daily with a work out buddy, whom has had the surgery and I see her progress weekly. I keep feeling like this will be me!!! I have such high hopes, and reading many of the stories in here keeps me motivated. Seeing her grind it out at the gym, I am impressed with her progress. This is one serious journey. I am elated that we have this as an option. I have not shared that I am having WLS with everyone for many will not understand. Perhaps, they will think…

I knew that would get everyone’s attention! I thought it might be helpful to others to relate my one little experience with the language barrier when I was at the clinic in Cancun. Most of the nurses spoke at least some English. Vanessa, the clinic coordinator, spoke excellent English and gave us her card. She said a few of the night nurses did not speak English and if we had any problems, we should have them call her. Anyway, you want to hear the story… On my first day after surgery, 2 female nurses helped me with a shower. They took off the bandages, helped me get the hospital gown off with the IV, and told me to shower and wash the incisions with soap and water. Then…

I had a radical hysterectomy about 3 weeks ago. I am having lap band next week. Any other girls out there who have had hysterectomy and a lap band? Did you notice any change in your sex drive or menopausal symptoms after you started losing weight? I cant take any hormones because the tumor they pulled out of me was a very low stage of cancer (not likely to spread.. but, still makes me ineligible for Estrogen). So, I'm curious as to how the weight loss might effect me.

Now I have to go through this appeal process uhg and get doctor letters and stuff my bmi has fluctuated between 38-43 I'm so nervous they will deny me again!!!! Any advice? Has anyone else been denied too for this issue? Or their bmi but still was approved!???? !! I'm terrified right now

I just found this website on Pintrest & think It's pretty awesome, It allows you to put in your height, weight, body type, shirt and pant sizes and it gives you actual pictures of REAL women who share your same numbers... http://www.mybodygallery.com/index.html before I always wondered how "big" I really was and would look at other women and wonder if they wore the same size as me... It's weird how different I saw myself in the mirror vs. pictures for example. Now, I am post surgery and while I know I am losing weight and people point it out all the time, it's harder for me to see when I look in mirror, I found this site to be eye opening for me... Hope someone …

OK so I am just wondering if im being super sensitive or if this is real. lol I am at the beginning of my journey blah blah and Ive been looking into different sites and forums and things. I just went on myfitnesspal and another one I cant recall at the moment and some of those people are so rude!! Not even to me really (I haven't posted anything yet lol) But like, just because you are 115 lbs and know how to lose the last 5 of that doesn't really give you the right to tell someone theyre obese because "they need to get off their ass". Does NO ONE understand that sometimes its much more than that? I know I work out. Before I got too big that my damn joints burn all the ti…

My first period since rny is due this week and I am dyingggg for a bite of chocolate and some heavy carbs (bread, pasta, etc...). This is so typical of my PMS symptoms that I know that's what it is... I am wondering if maybe I tried a bit of sugar free chocolate, if that would help. I went to the gym to try and get my mind off of it, but I could seriously cry. What I wouldn't give to sit with a bag of Oreos, a glass of milk, and some french fries right now...

This is my second period since being sleeved and I started a week late and have had bad cramps that are continuous. I took basically no pain meds after surgery but I'm taking Tylenol for the cramps. I'm hoping this cramp thing only last this cycle because I would rarely get them before. Anyone else experience this?

All right, I still don't see a weight loss on me personally but can this count as an NSV: I'n walking (yes walking, no mobility cart, yay!), I come across the lingerie section. I'm looking at bras and basically I could never get a strapless bra because I was a 46C. Well, I'n looking at the strapless bras because I have a halter sundress that I can't wear in public because let's face it, size 46C boobs jiggle. Well, I guess I'm losing weight even though I don't see it. My new bra size is 42C! It's always the boobs that go first lol. Oh, and I was able to wear a short sleeve button down shirt that I couldn't get passed my elbow before. So my question ladies is this, what …

Hello VSG world! I had my surgery September 3, 2012. I have since lost 100 lbs and I am super super happy and excited! I can wear cute clothes, I feel good about myself and I can finally say I am beautiful! But...I am shy! I have been single for a while and feel ready to be loved and hugged. But I can't look at a guy without blushing. And maybe that's why they are not coming close The women at work are very supportive and always say how pretty I look but I want the men to notice and me not be shy enough to flirt! Lol Well I got that off my chest, any tips on flirting?

Hello Ladies!! I am fairly new here and this is actually my first post. I am just starting my GSV journey now, after looking into it for about 4 yrs or so. SOO here goes... I am 28 yrs old, married to my husband who I have been with since I was 16. We had our first child at 17, married at 22, then over the past 4-5 yrs we have had 3 more children, literally leaving me no time to lose weight. When I met my husband I weighed about 150-160 lbs. I now weigh in at 306 lbs. Now, my husband is great and I sincerely know that he is not bothered by my size now and that is only an issue within myself. I personally, can't imagine how being over weight is attractive in anyone's eye…

I put my swimsuit on yesterday. Back in March while I was in California and Mexico it was super snug. I had to wiggle my way in and out. Yesterday it was loose and baggy. Extra baggy up top. :-( It frustrates me that many plus sized swimsuits are designed assuming the plus sized woman has a large bust. I just don't. And what little I have is disappearing with every pound. I was pleased at the apparent weight loss but saddened by just how unfeminine I felt in my swimsuit.

Anyone notice they're eating more throughout the day before/during their period? I feel like in eating too much but I know it's just because I eat so little now. I don't want to sound neurotic but I'm due for my period next week and I already see the bloating/cravings starting. Anyone else have this increased appetite? It's a whole new experience trying to combat this with being sleeved.

My doctor gave me a prescription for the ring which I'm planning on starting tonight. He described how to use it, but on the written directions the pharmacy put on the package it says to insert a new one every 3 weeks, instead of 4. I know that it's perfectly safe to so this with the pills so I'm assuming it is for the ring as well. I googled it and there is info on doing this safely to skip periods. Anyone do this? I wonder if my insurance company will cover a refill every 3 weeks if that's what the prescription says.

Hi all, I am pre-op. My husband and I are actually meeting with the surgeon this week to sign our release and get our surgery date (he is having the bypass and I am having the Sleeve). Next week I have to get a uterine polyp removed (so thankful they fit me in rather than having to wait 6 weeks). I have another problem, my former GYN took me off of my birth control pills and suggested Mirena. She stopped practicing and now I have a new GYN who found the polyp, but she no longer does surgery so I have to go to another guy in her practice-so I don't know that I am really getting the right direction-because I have not been with these doctors long. I have read too many h…

Hi...I'm coming up on 8 weeks since surgery and the day before yesterday I looked at my stomach and thought, "huh, that looks bloated"...weighed myself yesterday morning and went up by almost a pound....bloated feeling continues today, but the scale has returned most of that pound ...I had BM yesterday and this morning, so I wouldn't think that is it...is it possible (likely?) that it is premenstrual? trying to figure out how many days into my cycle I am, but not really sure what is happening in that department...last one started early but was abnormally long (like 10 or 11 days) Thoughts?

Oh my, the hard bodies at the pool are going to be quite surprised when I go plop down on a lounge chair... at my size...in a bikini. Even though I still have lots o' weight to lose, I decided I was tired of having pasty white legs because I wasn't enjoying the gorgeous pool at my complex (seriously, it's like The Bellagio) Working on holding my head high and not worrying about what others think...I'm going to take a page from the boys who can have a giant gut, scrawny legs and a hairy back and walk around like they are the ****...off I go :-)

So my son is 1 and I've been trying to wean him before my surgery on July 3. I've gotten him down to only nursing for his 2 naps and bedtime. Basically, it's the only way he falls asleep. My surgeon thinks that nursing will burn way too many calories in the recovery stage, and I totally agree. How do I get my son to stop? I guess this is a parenting question too, but I'm desperate!

Here is a really neat article talking about how our Mothers' actions and words shape our body images even when we are young. http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/wellbeing/8760102/When-your-mother-says-shes-fat I have REALLY conciously tried to stop the negative talk when it comes to anything about bodies, shape, fat, etc. when it comes to my girls. I have an almost 11-year old daughter and a 12 year old daughter and the last thing they need to hear is "oh you'll just take after me and be fat." They were 9 and 10 when I was sleeved and I told them that I needed to have surgery to regain my health. It is my great hope that obesity does NOT find them and do harm to them.

Am I the only one? Ive only lost 30lbs but that is 30lbs of my boobs and butt that I dont wanna lose. I love my curves. I had to have sex with the lights off now because I'm self conscious of of my smaller boobs and scars. I know I spoke about this before getting my surgery and everyone reassured me...but now I'm scared because its getting real.

So, how do I begin.... I'm 25 and going through menopause. Ovarian cancer has caused me to have several surgeries, the last of which removed what was left of my one remaining partial ovary. I had this removed when I had my VSG done. I've been losing weight very very very slowly, so I don't know if my hormones or lack thereof is messing with everything or not. I've been in another stall for the past 2 weeks. I have absolutely zero libido. Sex even hurts because I get so dry, no matter how much lubrication is added to the equation (sorry for any bad visuals lol). I'm on hormone replacement, but I still get hot flashes and horrible night sweats. My sleep is constan…

I need to vent some frustration... My oldest sister was always very tiny until about 10 years ago when she started putting on the pounds. She was able to lose it once then gained it back. I on the other hand have been battling my weight since in my 20's and was at 240 when I started my lap band journey. I have always been heavier than her. I had not plans to tell her about my surgery but my other sister told her. As soon as she found out she decided she wasn't going to let me get smaller than her (she said that to my sister) and went on a diet the same day I had my surgery. Every couple of weeks or so she sends me a text with her current weight but doesn't ask how I am…

I've lost 46 lbs. I'm short and I'm latina. I have a lot of curves. Lol and HAD a big booty for which all my family knew me for. I also have big hips. Well lately my pants look nasty on me. My booty has officially disappeared. The only thing holding my jeans are my hips. I'm scared of going shoping for a new pair. What if I'm the same size and its just in my head?

So I am originally a 38D which is not big for my size...problem is 2 weeks post op my bras are not fitting any more. It upsets me because I have a lot of bras (expensive ones from victorias secret) just because I think they are cute and make me feel good so I bought alot over the past few years. So far they are now loose on the tightest clip when they used to be snug on the loosest clip. Did anyone else lose weight in what they consider their smallest area first. I am pear shaped.
