The Excitement of it ALL!

Recommended Posts

I am being sleeved in 6 weeks and 1 day, and I am experiencing a flutter of emotions. The most powerful emotion is excitement!! I see my body like clay and I am sculpture making a masterpiece.

I have been exercising daily with a work out buddy, whom has had the surgery and I see her progress weekly. I keep feeling like this will be me!!! I have such high hopes, and reading many of the stories in here keeps me motivated. Seeing her grind it out at the gym, I am impressed with her progress.

This is one serious journey. I am elated that we have this as an option. I have not shared that I am having WLS with everyone for many will not understand. Perhaps, they will think me lazy for going this route. While, I generally do not give a "take several seats " about others opinion , I did not want any negativity to erode the process.

Once I got pass the feel of death during surgery, a flood of positive thoughts took over. I have been exercising none stop!!The results paid off ...

This past weekend my husband smiled @ me often, and we racked up plenty of mattress miles. He said he is proud of how hard I am working out to be a success after surgery. I began prepping before for I see so many pictures of you ladies after showing your progress, and I think to myself " SELF that will be you"..... She tried it in my Tamar voice.

Our marriage has always had love and passion. It is something different in the sex , it was desire. Yes, he adores me, but he is still a man...and he wants to see not just a beautiful wife but a sexy wife.

Some of the things I miss is my husband lifting me up during our passionate sessions. I miss not being embarrassed to come out of our onsuite bath nude without covering with a towel or asking him to close his eyes.

I still have memories of what we were like when I was at a healthy weight...I have been reflecting on those moments humming the words to Chrisette Michele new song "Just a couple more forevers".....

What I will NOT miss is being mortified when his hand brushes over my kangaroo pouch . I have envisioned the new me and she will be fabulous.com and getting me a newlife.org...LOL

Love God, Be Happy, Live Fully

Amen!i feel the same way and my hubby is the same. loves me whatever I look like ut I'm sure he'll prefer a sexier wife. When we met (2 1/2 yrs ago), i was at the same weight I am now (had 1 yr previously has my lapband and had lost 75 lbs by the time we met) and lost over 30 more lbs before we got married the following year. He would call me "skinny mini" all the time. Since putting those 30 lbs back on, haven't heard him call me that in a long time. Can't wait to hear that again, soon I hope.

My surgery is exactly a week from today. getting scared, excited, nervous (and apprehensive about the 4 week liquid diet)

Good luck to you. I'm sure you'll be sexy soon! As will all of us!

Yes! I have been married for 19 years now. I was overweight for 17 of them. I love that he gets that look in his eyes again for me! It comes with a price though...he is now way more jealous of me then ever before. I know this stems from his own insecurities...but he is coming around. I am scheduled for a Tummy Tuck and breast lift with implants very soon, and that is a whole different set of emotions. I am thrilled that my journey is almost complete! The weight loss has had a very positive change to our sex life! Good luck ladies! ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
