  1. My kids have come down with the stomach flu, which usually means that Im up next for getting it. I am worried how my sleeve will handle it. I am 4.5 months post op right now so im not worried about tears, just how it feels. Has anyone post op had the stomach flu since surgery? How did it affecct you? Thank you for any input you can offer!
  2. Hey all! I already wrote this and thought I posted it, but I guess it didn't work! Hate it when that happens! So I had the surgery this morning at 7 am. It took 4 hours. My implant size was 457 cc's . That sounds like a lot, but they ended up being only slightly bigger then my original ones. They are so full! Pain is minimal compared to what my tummy tuck pain was like. They are so perky! I am so thankful for Percocet!!! Well if there is anyone out there who needs/ wants to know anything just message me! Good luck to you all! Hope everyone can come out of their surgeries as well as I have!
  3. Silicone feels more real to me. I am still not pain free. I still have a muscle spasm in my left breast a few times a day. I am guessing its because I am left handed and over do it all the time. They keep looking better and better every day! Loving the look!

    Ordering at restaurants?

Usually I just order a side of something....but sometimes when I am out with my youngest child (10) I will have her order a child's plate of what I want and I will order An adult plate of what she wants, which usually turns out just right. For the times when I don't have her I will ask for a to go plate right after they bring me my food. I will end up putting most of the food in the to go box and have a few meals out of it. It also keeps them from thinking that I didn't like the food. They usually think that I am just in a hurry. Good luck!

    Just won costume contest!

Wanted to say that is awesome! Also about not losing faster....it will come off, stop worrying yourself about it, number one......and for number two, losing slower helps to keep your hair from falling out as much, helps your skin to adjust better, and overall is better for your body. Good job on your loss so far....and try to remember that it didn't come on overnight so it won't come off overnight either. good luck!
  6. No it wasn't covered. They had a very specific clause in my plan that says no skin removal for any reason. I was very fortunate to have a husband who loves me very much....and saw how much it would mean to me to have plastics done and so therefore paid for me to have them done. I only paid $45 for my sleeve so I guess I can't really complain about having to pay for plastics. Even if I had to pay for them for the rest of my life they would have still been worth every penny!

Bad habits that i cant stop....

I'm guessing you meant 2012? Ok so here is what you do.....go back to basics! If you want to be successful then you have to be willing to change. You have this tool that hundreds of thousands of obese people out in the world would give anything to get, but can't! You are one of the lucky ones that could get it.....so use it. Get off your pitty bus and get moving. You can do it, you already have....it's just a matter of sticking to it. I know I don't ever want to be stuck in that horrible fat body that was slowly killing me ever again. I am willing to do anything to fight off that fat! You just have to ask yourself if it is worth it to you or not. If it is then make like the shoe and just do it! Hehe Good luck!
  8. I had a tummy tuck with two drains for that one. My surgery date was 9-10.... Then I just had a breast lift with implants done last week 10-22. I didn't have to have drains with that one, the surgeon just placed loop stitches on the underside of my breasts so that fluid could drain there, but I didn't have any come out. I am feeling really well overall, however I keep having a re accruing muscle spasm in my left arm going up to my breast. When it first happened I had a panic attack over it! It felt like a hot poker was being shoved into my arm up into my breast! It was one of the worst pains I have ever had in my life! I've had this pain again about 7 times, but thankfully not quit as bad, and only lasting for a few seconds instead of the five minutes that it happened the first time. I totally love my results! My tummy had a lot more extra skin then yours from the looks of your photos....the tummy tuck has been such a life changing thing for me! It has boosted my self confidence through the roof! I am finally able to wear normal clothes now too! I had to wear pants that were 2 sizes to big just because of my apron which I lovingly refereed to as my front butt. I also had to always wear bigger shirts that had to come down to my crotch at least because I didn't want anyone seeing my apron. I remember pre op worrying about having a huge scar, and about the pain. Now after I could care less about the scar (even though it looks great) I will take it over having that skin any day! As far as the pain, it wasn't as bad as I imagined. I was up and out of bed after 2 days, and I even went out to the club 3 days post op! Best decision I have ever made besides the sleeve! You look great! Congrats! I have pictures posted in my gallery if you are interested in looking. The results keep getting better and better!

    Bacon, Egg, and Cheese mmmmm

I have gone to buffets since my surgery on 8-16-2011. I only am able to eat about what a 2 year old eats....I hate paying full price for my meals, but I don't like telling them about my surgery so I just pay the full price and suck it up. I will go and get about a tablespoon of each of my favorite foods on the buffet and enjoy just a little bit. I chew chew chew, and savor each bite. Whoever I end up going with usually eats about 3 plates in the amount of time it takes me to finish my one....but they usually don't notice. You will be able to enjoy your favorites again, but use this time wisely to lose as much as you can in this first year post op. it is true that you lose the most during that magical year. Good luck!

    Working out. When?

I haven't been able to work out in the last 7 weeks because I am post op tummy tuck on 9-10 and post op breast lift on 10-22.... I am going nuts! I just don't want to lose all of the muscle that I have gained in these past two years. I am going to start hiking again on Friday....and I know my doctor wouldn't be happy to hear that, but I feel good.....and I don't plan on pushing myself any harder then I can handle. I believe that if you feel up to it then light exercise will be fine. Don't go trying to do any power lifting or anything, but some light cardio should be fine. Good luck!

    Starving!

I just eat every few hours. Very small amounts, and not to fill up, just to keep myself fueled. I just had two surgeries in the past 7 weeks so I have gained a lot of water weight. I haven't had a problem maintaining my goal weight until now. As long as you put in less calories then you burn in a day then you shouldn't have a problem losing. Good luck!

    Dizziness.....

I used to get dizzy too. Don't press yourself to hard. Take it easy and work your way up. Good job for getting that exercise in!

    I guess I'll post a pic!

You rock those scrubs! Just wait till that little guy can wrap more then his arms length around you and say...mama, you are so skinny! It was the best feeling when my little one did that! Keep up the great job!

    Regrets: After 3+ years

I am 2 years and 2 months out and I still have no regrets other then not doing it sooner!
  17. Sleeved 8/16/2011, tummy tuck 9/10/2013, breast lift with implants 10/22/2013.... I have gotten everything that I have ever wanted done. I am at the end of my journey, and I am at the beginning of my healthy new life with the body I always dreamed of! Life is good! :) if you want something....go out and get it. There is nothing stopping you but you! :)

5 days post op 25lbs down

Remember to measure as well. When the pounds don't come off remember that while exchanging fat for muscle equals smaller measurements. The scale isn't always our friend. I like to use the tape measure and also how my clothes fit as the best way to see how much I have lost. I am so happy that you are so motivated! Congrats on all that you have accomplished so far! keep it up! Good luck!
  19. I had my plastics done in the us. The only thing I wanted to say is please, please, please don't go by the cost! Research your plastic surgeon well. Get lots of before and after pictures of their patients. Also make sure that they are actually certified plastic surgeons! I wanted to have the best results as far as scars go. Price should be the last thing on your list. I didn't want to come out of these surgeries looking like Frankenstein's bride....or worse, dead! I realize that not everyone can afford to be picky, but your life is worth more then anything. Good luck to you!

Will I always have to sip?

My surgery was on 8/16/2011.... It took me a good six months before I could drink more then 2 ounces without it being painful. Now I can drink about 8 ounces in about 5 minutes, or even less if I want to. I was a huge gulper of water prior to surgery. It was the only way I felt quenched before. You will be able to gulp again....how long it takes varies of course, because we are all different, but it will happen for you in do time. good luck!

    Dehydration? Help!

Take one of those medicine cups you get with liquid meds. Fill it up with water every 30 minutes. Sip it. At the end of 30 minutes repeat. If you do this all day long you will get enough fluids in to keep from being dehydrated. It sucks, and it is time consuming.....but it works! I am more then two years post op and now I have no problems with getting all of my fluids in. When you are in the moment it seems like forever, but this to shall pass. For those gulpers out there....yes, you will be able to gulp away again. This surgery has been my life saver. And while I will admit that at times (in the very beginning) it has sucked....I would do this surgery a thousand times over! The sleeve was my miracle! Good luck to you! :)
  22. My tummy tuck was $7500.... My breast lift with silicone implants was $8600. I went through a local plastic surgeon. His name is Dr. wally Hosn. He is wonderful! I would recommend him to anyone. After my surgery he gave me his home phone number to call for any problems. He also called me after both of my surgery's to make sure I was doing ok. I have never had a doctor be so through, and kind! As far as the scars go...he doesn't use sutures or stitches, or staples. He uses tape so that your scars are minimal. After only 6 weeks post op from a tummy tuck, and 4 days post op from my breast surgery I am still raving about this doctor!
  23. So far it's looking like I will be a 38 ddd. I was already a dd so I'm not that much bigger, just a whole lot perkier. They are pretty bruised up right now, and still really swollen. I hadn't had much pain until today. I fell asleep wrong where I had my left arm up to high. My hubby came in to move me and when he did I had a pain unlike I have ever had before! It was worse then giving birth! It felt like I had a large hot poker being shoved up through my upper arm through my armpit and into my left breast. I have never screamed so loudly in my life! My poor husband thought I was going to die. He almost called an ambulance. I couldn't move or be moved for about five minutes. Then finally I had to pull up my big girl panties, counted 3,2,1 and had my husband help me off of the bed quickly. When I got up the pain subsided enough for me to gain my composure. I immediately called my surgeon to tell him what happened and after I described it to him he said he believed I had a muscle spasm and that I needed to take it easier. I have had a couple more quick sharp pains like that one since, but they have been easy to go through since they were quick. I am going to try and upload some pictures to my gallery today if it is working now. The recovery from the breast augmentation with lift has been much easier then the recovery from the tummy tuck. I am very thankful that I did not get both surgeries at the same time! I just think it would have been way to hard of a recovery.
  24. When I came out of being under with my tummy tuck I was crying for my husband. I wasn't in very much pain, but was emotional. When I came to today not only was I crying for my hubby, but I was in so much pain! They gave me something in my iv that helped a little, but then fed me crackers so that they could give me Percocet. After they gave me the Percocet it took about 20 minutes before I could tolerate the pain. I felt really heavy, and my pain level was at about an 8! Once the Percocet did its job I felt great. I am able to lift my arms just fine, and the pain I feel now is more like soreness from an impending period. I am extremely swollen right now. I was able to see some of my new tatas when I needed a dressing change. They are so round, and perky! I love them already and I just can't wait till I get to see them for real! My hubby loves them already! IMy head is spinning in disbielief that I finally have my plastics done! I feel like a completely different person then I was at the beginning of this journey! I just can't believe that I have gotten everything out of this journey that I wanted. I feel sooooooo lucky right now! I have made a pact with myself to always live my life to the fullest.....starting with today! if anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask....even if it is in a private message!
