So the drain is out! Funny though, with the last one he removed it seemed to close up right away, but this one after 2.5 hours is still wide open, and fluid is still coming out. I guess because it was in further, and longer. Another thing is that I can actually feel a little pain from where the drain was sitting inside of my abdomen. I am starting to get some feeling back in the section just below my new belly button. My doc was surprised by this, and said it normally takes up to six months to start to get feeling back. Doc also said everything is healing up wonderfully. I can take showers, but not baths or swimming for another week. I am still so thrilled with my outcome of surgery!

The first few months post op are rough. You will begin to get the hang of soon enough, and will realize that it was all worth it. Sorry you are feeling so down, but it will only get better from here and out. Good luck to you! You will do great! keep your head up and try to stay positive!

My liver was throwing enzymes before I had the surgery, but since the surgery all of my blood tests have come out within normal limits. I hope the same thing happens for you! Good luck!

How much is that in pounds? I lost 146 pound total...might be a little more since I had a tummy tuck to take away my huge apron of skin and fat. I don't dare step on the scale yet since my tummy tuck because I know I am filled with fluid, swollen, and will probably weigh more then I did pre tummy tuck, due to the swelling. I am a firm believer in the fact that if I could do this, anybody can! I was one of those dieters that would start out all gun ho...knowing I was going to lose my extra weight, then by day four to day six I would slip up on my diet, give up, and gain everything back, plus some.the vertical sleeve was my life savor. Without it I know without a doubt that I would have had a heart attach within the next few years, and leave my poor husband a widower, and to raise our kids the rest of the way without a mother. I am soooooo thankful for my sleeve! good luck to you!

It felt great the first time I was able to shop there...and everything fit! I will need to go back once I get my boobs fixed, which is 10/22! It is so wonderful to be able to enter a clothing store and be able to purchase stuff right off of the shelf! The ladies that work there are wonderful at making you feel comfortable with the whole situation. I just had my tummy tuck 2 weeks ago, and have my boob job in four more weeks....what is hilarious to me is when I tell people I am having a breast lift, and implants that they say that they look perfect to them! Well duh! i wear two pairs of bras just so they can get up high enough to look sexy! wouldn't mind my boobies so much if the nipples didn't point south, and that when I am having sex with my hubby of 19 years he can/ or will reach up and touch those girls and be happy that they look beautiful! I am so on count down mode till I get my new boobs, and can feel sexy again...with the lights on in the bedroom! I also know what you mean about walking into that store and feeling like I don't belong! It will get easier and easier to go shopping at these places that only sell stuff to the skinny woman! It is so hard for our minds to catch up to our actual body size. I still see pictures of myself now, and I can't believe that they are actually of me. I was walking next to my skinny husband ( he has always been thin) and I saw our shadows, and I just couldn't believe that my shadow was smaller then his....that is a major NSV for me! Another NSV that I thought would never happen....my hubby is able to scoop me up in his arms and carry me! It is so thrilling, and makes me feel sooooo sexy!

I sure did! It was a real eye opener on how different I look now, and that feels wonderful!

Being a slow loser is actually of more benefit to your body. Your skin has more time to adjust, so it will come out looking better, and you may not start losing your hair like a lot of us that have wls do. Try to think of the positives in everything. The more that you stress out about how slow you are losing, may even make the loss slower, because stress tends to put our body into starvation mode, where it will literally hold onto as much fat as it can in preparation for whatever impending doom you are stressed about is coming. This is all part of our genetics handed down from when our ancestors didn't know when the next meal was going to be. Try to stay positive. It will come off, you will look great, you will be healthier....you will be happier! good luck!

It's normal to have these emotions. This is a big deal. You will do fine. Just breath!

I didn't have a c section, but I did just have a tummy tuck almost two weeks ago. The sleeve surgery was much easier then the tummy tuck. My recovery was very easy with the sleeve. I was even out at the park with my daughter by day four, and I actually laid on my stomach on the concrete drawing with chalk with my girl! Good luck! Don't be afraid to ask for more, or better pain meds if you need them. The doctors and nurses want you to have the pain under control, because the better you feel the more apt you are to get up and get moving, which promotes faster healing.

It sounds like you made the right decision to me. I had a similar experience with my husband about 11 years ago. I was working two jobs, while pregnant with our third child. He wasn't working at all, and he wasn't helping out around the house. So basically I was the bread winner, as well as the house keeper. The only thing he was providing me with was a babysitter, and sometimes sex. I finally had had enough of it and I sat him down and told him things have got to change. I straight out told him he wasn't bringing anything to the table that I couldn't go out and buy some battery's for and do myself...and probably better. I gave him a chance to change, especially since we were about to have our third child together, so we had commitments to think about. I told him he needed to be there more for me emotionally, physically, and that he needed to find a good job so that I didn't have to work two anymore....as well as he needed to be doing half of the chores around the house. I explained to him that I loved him very much, and I wanted us to work out, but I didn't need him to make my life happy. I wanted to have him as my husband, and partner in this life...but I didn't need him. Boy I tell you, it was a huge wake up call to him! He went out and got a great job, and promoted in less then a month to manager. He began making more money then I did, and he also stepped it up around the house. He basically started to play an active role in our family. I was very proud of him, and felt very fortunate that he was willing to change. Had he have made promises to change and not follow through I would not have given him another chance though...he knew that, and so he acted on it. I am proud to say that we have now been married 19 years, and he is still playing an active role in our household, and marriage. I think it is a good idea for you to stay single for a while, and get to know the new you. Learn for yourself that you don't need a man to make you happy or to survive, and once you have learned that for real then you will be able to find yourself a real man that can contribute to your happiness....and support you for a change instead of you supporting him! I was told by the nurse and the surgeon to walk around like I was looking for penny's. my doctor cut away a little more skin then they usually do (because I had so much of an apron) and so when he closed he had me curled up so that the two ends could touch. The reason behind making me stay curled a little was to give my skin the time to stretch out naturally and in doing such I would have a tighter result. I only had to do this for five days. After that I could walk normally.

Has she lost as much weight as you? Guys seem to lose faster then the ladies, and your success on losing more then her may be making her a little jealous....also she probably never thought she had to worry about competition because she thought you were to big for other women to come on to you now, and so now she feels insecure in your relationship. Just a few theory's. good luck!

Goodie! Only bad part is by then end of your liquid diet you may end up being like I was...one cranky butt! Seeing other people eat, while I couldn't also would drive me crazy, and I wanted to take the fork that they were eating their food looking, smelling, mouthwatering food and stab them in the hand with it! Lol good luck on your diet, and your surgery...so great you got a sleeve rebirth day scheduled!

You might have turned into a mouth breather at night. Maybe try getting once of those air purifiers, or even possible a water vapor system that helps misted the air. There are also sprays that you can get for dry mouth. Health care providers for the elderly use these often, because they sometimes have a hard time producing saliva, and this helps stimulate making more. Good luck!

My nut actually had the gastric bypass herself, and then became a nut after. She was almost to skinny...but I think it helps her to feel more empathy for the patients, because she knows exactly what it is like. Glad you realized what a nut really is, so now you don't think we are all talking about our nuts, and sounding like we are nutty! Lol

I remember that feeling, but trust me, you should be taking lots of picture so you can use them as motivation, and comparison also...cause while you are in the middle of losing....or even at the end it is very hard for your mind to grasp how you really look, especially when it comes to looking at yourself in the mirror. Sure hope it gets easier for you to see yourself and actually love that person in the mirror! Good luck!

So I get to finally have this awful drain removed tomorrow! Looking so forward to not having to try and conceal the stupid fluid ball! My scar is coming along soooo well! It has already completely healed over, no scabs at all....and it starting to lighten already with this cool fake skin sticker I bought for myself that is supposed to help minimize scaring...I totally recommend them! The outside doesn't hurt at all, however occasionally I will move the wrong way, or do something that will give me this pulling pain that feels like I have ripped an internal stich, and it sometimes burns afterwards. I have learned in two weeks that I am still recovering from a major surgery, and while I may feel great most of the time....I still need to take it easy! I will be posting new pictures as soon as I can on Monday of me without this stupid drain tube sticking out of me, as well as new pictures of my scar line. A wonderful outcome for me so far is that I now can wear regular shirts that go to my waist. Rather then hang down really low to cover my front but. Last night was the first time in18 years that I wore a belt that could actually be seen....so something I have to do now is buy some really cool show off belts! I am waiting till after I get the boobs done to buy new shirts, as I don't know how big, or how small I should get the shirts. Soooo on countdown till I get those boobies! Only 4 weeks left!

My daughter and I were on vacation and had walked into a store that we have never been in. As we were walking around the produce section I looked across the store and I saw two people that had on our same outfits. The one I noticed first was the lady dressed like me, only she was much thinner then I was. Then I noticed the other woman, and realized she had the same outfit on as my daughter, I walked over to my girl to point the two out to her, and then it hit me! I wasn't looking across the store at two different women wearing our outfits, I was looking into a big mirror that was placed there ( I guess to make the store look bigger) and so of course I was seeing us....I just didn't realize that I was so much thinner then my mind gave me credit for. I still pointed it out to her while laughing at myself....we both started laughing so hard, that I am sure that anyone else that was around must of thought we were either completely nuts, or just on some kind of drugs! Lol Well that I consider an NSV right there....not even recognizing myself in a mirror! Haha Hope you enjoyed my silly little NSV!

50 pounds in 3 months doesn't sound slow to me at all....but still I am glad that everything is going so well for you. I too chose not to tell anyone, and I was a slow loser. People still questioned me if I had surgery, but I find that it really isn't anyone's business what I have or had not done to my body. There are reasons for such strict hippa laws...because its our business, and nobody else's! Good luck to you!

You are right there are a lot of different ways both the patients and the surgeons take for this surgery. I have heard people say they had drains, and others haven't....then some docs requires a 2 week pre op liquid diet...some a 1 week diet, some a 3 day diet....and then some lucky ones don't even get a diet at all, just fasting for 12 hours before surgery. I have also heard of some having 7 different surgical site....the 6 and 5 and 4! Different surgeons use different bougie sizes, some use staples to close, stiches to close and then just steri strips or surgical tape. I guess it really doesn't matter, as long as all of our outcomes are the same....that we lose the weight, we keep it off, and we are all healthier for it! good luck to you in your own personal journey, however you got there!
