Post op day #8. Why am I way toooo emotional??? This is so not me at all and i don't like being it at all. Did anyone else get mood swings and emotional like this? It's like my hormones are on hyperdrive or PMs. I know i read about this--- but am curious if anyone else actually experienced it other than me. Thanks!

So it is March (spring) break here in Canada and the kids are off school for the week. My friends called this morning and asked if I wanted to take the kids to see a movie and of course I said sure. Well then the battle started!! I don't think I have ever been to see a movie without getting popcorn! I love that stuff, hence my being way over 300 pounds! So I said to myself.....self, you are on the pureed stage of your diet, and popcorn is a definite NO NO! Then the devil on my shoulder started......he said come on.....its popcorn, mostly air, and if you chew it enough, it will turn to mush and be pureed! So the battle with the shoulder devil continued all the way…

What's the most annoying thing your partner does? My boyfriend freaking puts his dirty laundry RIGHT next to the basket! Lol, could be worse, but why? Just.. why? Cutest thing? He grabs me in his sleep and pulls me close...aaand then snores in my face. Lol. Or when he wakes me up by petting my hair or face and saying "Good morning beautiful", or how literally every day this year he's told me that I was gorgeous or beautiful or sexy.. Without make up or hair done, he actually gets mad when I primp, he's a natural, tshirt and jeans type of man. I think my ex told me that I looked good maybe a handful of times during the 3 years, but none while I was natural, so it sure is…

So last night was the first time my husband and I did it since I was banded last Monday 3/4. I was feeling great, and lost my first 20 lbs so it was a go, and I did not get any time restrictions from my surgeon so we went for it. The whole time I was thinking about my port and if the stiches were healed and if it was going to come "undone" whatever the heck that means. Long story short everything worked out fine in the end and I'm thinking I'm just fine but it still made me LOL after it was over. The life of a NEW BANDSTER. Anyone have a similar experience?

Ok ladys I'm in need of some advise. I have been married for almost 5 years now. My wife have a very strong relationship but now I'm confused. A few years back she wanted to know what I thought about "toys" in the bed room. I told her I dont have a problem with it as long as she didn't go all 50 shades on me. So, she kinda shruged it off and we went on our merry way. Well recently while looking for the t.v. Remote I find her toy box in her night stand. I dont have a problem with them it's just why didn't she tell me about them? And everytime I bring up the subject of toys she dismisses it. Am I missing something?

Please don't take this the wrong way. I am 47 pounds down since the start of my journey (banded Dec. 19) and I am very pleased with my progress. In watching some videos on YouTube and reading some responses on here I am seeing how people are dropping dress sizes left and right even with as low as 30 pounds loss. I am ready to lose a dress size or two! LOL I can still wear my same size. Don't get me wrong, everything is baggy, I just don't think I can justify shopping just yet. We are all different from our doctors to our journeys to our body types and weight falls off differently for different people. I am just itching to buy a new outfit in a smaller size.

I have this question because I know many of you are probably like me and self concious of your body. Do you allow your husband or significant other to " go down" on you? I'm not hideous I believe I am an attractive women. I have a large chest and plenty of booty that my hubby really enjoys but I carry all my weight in my stomach and thighs so I'm highly uncomfortable with the thought of his head being there. It really upsets him one because he feels its not fair for me to please him and him not to please me and two because he feels like I'm not comfortable with him because he loves me and finds me sexual attractive no matter my size. Its not that I'm not comforta…

I just came home yesterday and I'm 6 days post op and...my husband is just being such a jerk. I'm not sure what his problem is and he says I'm moody. WTF??? I don't feel moody. We were so happy 6 days ago....ugh! I'm just venting because I really do love the a*****e and was so happy to come home to the jerk. Now I just want to go to work, back to Mx, or anywhere he isn't. OAN, my kids are all up under me and so attentive.

Okay, so you know when you know something isn't right in your relationship but you can't quite figure out what it is? Well, I finally heard this today, "I can't help but wondering if you are going to Mexico so you can lose a bunch of weight because you want to go find someone else." And there have been a few moments of, "yeah, are you sure you're going to Mexico for surgery?" Like I'm going to put little scratches and steristrips on my belly to cover up for my going off to Mexico to have some secret tryst. Sigh. We talk all the time about unsupportive partners and why that is, but am I alone here?

Hi ladies, Need advice & support here. I switched from pills to Devo shots after my surgery. It was my ObGyn & my surgeon's recommendation. Had my 2nd shot about 2 months ago. Now have been having a severe period for almost three weeks. Very painful cramps & I bleed badly every time I work out that I get (excuse me here) chunks of blood coming out. I called my ObGyn and she said I can go for a check and to choose another method if I want to. My question now is: is that heavy bleeding normal? Anyone experienced that? What about the cramps? Normal to have them for three weeks? What are you using for birth control? Am almost 42 with 2 kids & am not consi…

Hello everyone. Well, I've been slipping and as a result of my bad choices, I'm up 7 pounds. I know it's not much, but it feels like it is. I'm ashamed and aggravated at myself for eating things I know I shouldn't. It's not worth it! I told my husband it's food...and food shouldn't take precedents over what I know I should be doing. I've had great success with my surgery. I've lost a total of 115 before the 7 pound gain. I have some physical limitations due to a disability that makes exercising at times very difficult. But my sweet husband renewed our gym membership and he guided me through each exercise today and we ordered protein...lots of different kinds...and went …

I am one week pre-op and had my husband take before pictures in the skimpiest two piece I own (long story about needing a suit right then and that was all they had). I know I am overweight. I know I need this surgery. But when I look down at my body or in the mirror I do not see the body I saw in those pictures! I am glad this is a "before" but really looking forward to some "afters". Pictures just don't lie!

Well, this morning my husband dropped the bomb on me that he's not really happy and is very stressed out because we haven't had sex in.... months. I don't even know how many it's been. I lost count. He's been trying, to his credit, and has always stated he's attracted to me, and there's no issues on his part. It's all on mine. My libido is intact. I take care of myself privately, get it done and over with as fast as I can. (yes, I realize how pathetic and sad that is). Well, here's why I don't much want to do it: It's very hard, and painful. I cannot participate to any degree I used to. I'm pre-op, 5'1" and 280 lbs. About all I'm good to do is lay around like a…

So not sure if I should post this anywhere but I'm really sad. My poor dog was doing just fine up until about 1130pm lastnight (arizona time) and I was up and down with her all night with her throwing up. This happened like 6 times and she's not thrown up about 5 times today. I'm forceing water down her throat with a medicine dropper. I believe she got parvo but I have NO idea how she would have gotten it. No she's not completely vaccinated and I know that doesn't help but she doesn't go anywhere that she could get it. I'm so sad and depressed because there is NO way I can afford a vet bill or even pay in payments. So I went and got some Parvaid for her and some pedialite…

well not really a beard but seems like since surgery, instead of the 1 or 2 wayward chin hairs , I now wake up to oddly placed 2 inch strands.... on my cheekbone... on my chin... just all over my face there can be up to about 15 of them, none close to each other but all over... and how in hell do they grow so long overnight? the hair on my head never grows this fast ( I WISH!) I do know losing fat affected my hormones ( as evidenced by my period that now comes every 3 weeks like clockwork) but this is CRAZY!!!!

Well I have been completing my pre-op testing for my surgery scheduled 3/20/13. Last Saturday I went for my chest x-ray, gall bladder ultrasound, EKG and Lab work. Well Monday I receive a call from the surgeons office. I was thinking it was just to confirm they received all the results and everything looks good or maybe some of my levels are high or low. I listen to the voicemail and it's my actual surgeon calling!! Not his assistant, not a nurse the actual surgeon! I call back immediately worried about what he could say. He tells me my vitamin D is low (ok no biggie!) and my blood test says I'm PREGNANT.....what!?!?!? I have an IUD how could I be pregnant! I have had my …

Today I put my underwear backwards and have been walking around all day and not even realized it till my third time peeing this afternoon I looked down and saw the writing inside the underwear was on the wrong side of my body. When I was 270 lbs and wore a size 11 underwear there was no way I was pulling up my pants and walking around all day like that because my legs would have been cut off..my butt would never have been covered...and the back would have been so much larger then the front...Not today! Just thought I'd share!

Can anyone explain how on day 4 I gained 4lbs? I am getting all my liquids in and only drinking sugar free drinks. I will say I started my period on day 2 and just yesterday got the OK to take all my meds, one of which is hydyoclorosine (sp?). I have done everything by the book so to gain weight about makes me want to cry. I originally told myself I wouldn't check my weight till my one week check up......wish I listened to myself

Well this is just fan-freakin'-tastic...I started my period the day before my surgery! I was supposed to have it last week, but noooooooo...mother nature has a sense of humor and it's a sadistic one. I know it's not a super big deal, but to me it feels like adding insult to injury! I'm already gonna be alone, uncomfortable, and a little scared...now let's add menstruating to that! Just my luck!

Ok ok I had to post this to see if anyone else does the same thing!! Went out for lunch with the team at work today. We went to a pizza place that had a $10 8inch pizza deal...the 12inch pizzas were like up to $15 and the large around $22... Me with my new sleeve assumed everyone would go with the $10 deal and I ordered an entree for myself of chorizo as a treat lol Well EVERYONE ordered the large size pizza - and I'm talking its MASSIVE like bigger than a Pizza Hut pizza and I thought how I would've done the same once and now I'd get through maybe one slice!!! It is soooo strange to watch ppl eat so much food and sitting there waiting for them all to finish after I'd…

I am recently banded and I would like some new ideas on what you and your other do on date nights now. A sit down dinner has pretty much always been the norm for us and I'm working to get my mind off food as fun. He's never really liked it anyway because he thinks it's throwing money away, but he's done it for me. Now when he asks what are we doing tonight I am at a loss. We usually end up just stating home and having a Redbox night, but I need to get out of the house! Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk

Hi ladies! I don't want to write a novel about this situation, but I'd like some objective female input. Ok, so I'm 23 years old and I've only been in 3 relationships...one of which turned out to be with a gay man. So, needless to say I'm not very experienced in that field. I dated a guy we'll call Eric for about 3 months 4 years ago. He had been my very best friend since junior high, and we were good together but I was in college 2 hours away from him. I didn't want to do the long distance thing and he was interested in someone else, so we broke up. It wasn't pretty and it divided our friends for quite some time. Over the past year we have reconnected and become even cl…

Hello ladies! I don't have a female figure in my life to discuss this with, so I'm hoping you ladies could point me in the right direction. I'm 46, in full menopause. Breast and Colon cancer have taken my Mother and Grandfather, I worry about getting either. For the past few weeks to a month, I have been experiencing severe bloating and pain in my pelvic region. It hurts so bad that I tuck my underwear "under" my lower belly flab so I can let go of the expansion of my stomach. Wearing pants is pretty hard on me. It's very much like the feeling of pregnancy. (I've never actually had a baby though) It's affecting my every moment The pain has radiated to my lower bac…

Since losing 50 pounds I've had more a few coworkers/clients comment on my boobs getting smaller. First of all, what the hell?! Second of all, I never really had much to begin with! They have not gotten smaller. If they were smaller, why comment on that?!? Why can't people just be happy for me?

I've tried searching and can't find anything... I know our cycles get a little messed up after surgery, but I had a period the first 3 months after surgery and haven't had one since. I'm almost 7 months out so I haven't had one for at least 3 cycles. I was low bmi to start and have lost 50 lbs. I've been on the pill and am not pregnant. Anyone go through this? When did your period come back?

I am getting Essure inserted on Feb 5th and I was wondering if anyone has it? If so I would love to know how you like it and what your experience has been with it. I am using Nuvaring now, but I really don't want to deal with hormonal birth control anymore. I decided on Essure after I had 2 pregnancies (and miscarriages) with the Paraguard IUD and a 3rd pregnancy (and miscarriage) recently because my Mirena went missing. My hubby was going to just get a vasectomy but our insurance copay is $300 for it and $0 for Essure. I am really hoping Essure will be the perfect solution; but I don't hear about it much.
