Guess they weren't really my friends. I used to have a pretty good social life. My group consisted of quite a bit of BBW lovers and admirers. I told a few about my intentions and desire for surgery. Word spread (I knew it would). Then people stopped talking to me, inviting me out, etc. I thought this group liked me for my personality but turns out it was for my body! Ha! The pre-surgery portion of this is isolative enough- but wow. It's been a bit of a blow. I feel used and angry. People who tout being open and encouraging to being who you are inside have shunned me.

Ok ladies I'm totally frustrated and need your help! I'm down almost a hundred pounds (I haven't been on the site for awhile so I'm not sure what my signature says) and I'm at the point where I DESPERATELY need new bras but I put on a c cup and my boobs look squished and super wrinkly but if I put a d on its too big! I've tried different sizes around too but now I think it may be the style. I started out as a 44D and I think I'm around a 38-40 c or d now but who knows! And I know I could get measured but I don't want to spend a ton of money on a bra that may not fit for long Anyone have this problem and if so have any tips, brands, styles that have helped!? Thank…

So, my surgery date is getting closer. Nov 5th. I can hardly wait. Anyhoo, my fiancé has as if late been making comments that make me think he is going to miss all the fatness. He has not discouraged me from getting surgery though. It's just curious. He was happy a couple years back when I lost lots on the HCG diet. Do you think this is just his way if telling me he is nervous about the surgery? Cause I can't imagine he will miss the fatness.

Hi Ladies! I was just sleeved on the 27th of September and I have lost 30lbs so far including the pre op preparation. I gained 3 of that back before I left the hospital. I did not receive any compression girdle for my middle so now I feel floppier than I used to in my mid-section. The only thing I have here is a panty girdle and one of those tank top girdles I purchased from the Avenue which I wore before surgery. Should I wear the girdle now? or is it too soon? I REALLLLLY don't like my belly swaying to and fro when I walk, especially at the store. Also, I'm having a boob issue, they are ginormous and cover one incision, I think where they did the hernia repair, I put a …

Hey Everyone~ I had my surgery in March 2010. I'm at a stand still with losing weight. I need to make an appt with my surgeon, but I'm frustrated with how well I'm NOT doing. (I know that's backwards, but that's how I'm feeling.) Anyway, my hair is starting to come out like CRAZY! I can't stop crying about it, and I have no idea what to do. I was taking mega doses of Biotin, but I cut back because I was growing facial hair. I made an appt with my PCP, but I can't get in until June 6. I don't know if I'll have any hair left by then. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks!!

Today when I got home from work I was catching up on some things and my husband walks in the room flipping through the Soma catalog that had come in the mail today. For those not familiar, Soma is a lingerie/intimates store. Very classy, practical, yet sexy - and they have THE MOST comfy (yet cute) undies you'll ever find in your life! Of course I haven't been able to fit into their stuff for at least 6-9 months. Sigh... Anyway, he hasn't talked much about my upcoming surgery other than the fact that he's very nervous about it. So today he comes and sits down next to me with the Soma catalog and tells me he can't wait for me to get back into wearing stuff like that…

So I'm scheduled to be sleeved on Friday. And judging by the signs my body is giving me, it looks like I'm going to be on my period during the surgery. Yuck! I'm really freaked out about this. I'm sleeving in Mexico so the plane tickets are bought and the procedure is all paid for already and can't be refunded so rescheduling is not an option. What do I do?

Hello everyone hope all is well. I have not told many people that I will be having RNY the only people that know are my mom and my 2 kids and you guys of course lol. I have heard many stories about people loosing friends and husband and boyfriends after they lost the weight has this happened to anyone. I really not worried about loosing friends because I'm a believer that God puts people in your life for a reason and a season some season are longer thatn other.

I'm not sure if this is wrong but I've been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years and he knows I've been looking into surgery but he doesn't know that I'm currently doing all the pre op exams for surgery. To be honest m sure he'll support me 100% but I've been thinking of telling him the day before the surgery or maybe not telling him at all. We dont live together. Anyone pre or post op facing or faced a similar situation. Please give me your opinion. Thanks!

Ok so this is totally unrelated to rny but I need some advice.... I have this male friend, we have been good friends for about 2 years, and even attempted to go out but we never clicked that way. He is a great guy and often ladies take his kindness for weakness. I ended up introducing my single friend to him and they hit it off, after 4 months she ended it really bad and blew him off. Well recently we hung out and I have developed some feelings towards him and we eventually had sex. It was amazing. Lol but now I feel like a horrible friend cuz that's her ex but he was my friend first... I don't know what to think or do..... Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

Sitting here crying. Why? I feel hurt. I'm a people person. I encourage everyone & I feel proud & happy with everyone having surgery & when a pound is lost it's a big celebration. It's been a few months since I cry. Maybe I don't belong in this group. Maybe I wasnt fat enough to have WLS. I come so far & I have so many problems. Sorry I'm going to think about my life. People don't understand how others struggle in life & this is the only thing that went my way. I don't get anything for free. I struggle every month with 2 checks per month to put food on my table to buy diapers. I have 8 diapers left I'm using bedding pad as diapers to make a stretc…

I am six days out and still on Clears until Thursday. I noticed today as i was wiping that I felt a bit irritated. I remembered that odor bread had as it's rising with yeast before you bake it, yep i think it's a yeast infection. I have not had one of those in years. Is this common post op? Done Did It!

I decided tonight that two foods I will truly miss post procedure are CHOCOLATE and chili dogs :-P How silly is that? I am addicted to chocolate though and am sad to know I must say goodbye to it. A healthier, thinner me is more important than that chocolaty yummy goodness. Oh dear sweet chocolate i will miss you so! :-P

I have often wondered what the login names of people mean if you have an unusual one. Mine is a mixture of words. My coworkers and I talk in a British accent sometimes and I always say "Pip pip cheerio!"..hence Pip. I also have a rescue cat we named Talula...hence lula...put them together..and Piplula was born. Please share! I am interested in the meaning of your handle!

During my surgery they found LOTS of cysts on my ovaries and during my follow up I found out that dr also found a nodule, biopsied it and it came back abnormal. I have NEVER had problems before. She referred me to an OBGYN- which I haven't been to since I was preggo 16 years ago (I go to my GP regularly). Luckily she took pics of the cysts and hopefully can send results over to OBGYN for my biopsy results. I go meet and see her today. I HATE these visits- but then again- who likes them? Ugh a. For the first time in my life (and many health issues I've been through) I'm slightly nervous about possible outcomes. I'm told likely something like endometriosis or PS…

Before surgery I was always late on my period, and when I would start it would start off with dried blood looking color. Well I am 7 weeks out as of yesterday and I have had 2 periods. They have been on time, heavy and very VERY painful. Is anyone experiencing this or experienced it? Is it normal? Should I be concerned? I have history of PCOS.

My thoughts...not my actions. There were tons of leftover goodies from the board meeting at work today. Once the meeting is over all the cookies etc are put out in the kitchen. As everyone was racing up the hall to get the delicious looking cookies and I was heading back to my desk, and I said "Eat those cookies bit$*es, I hope ya'll get fat!" Of course I said this to myself not outloud....don't know what has come over me today!

I talked to my doctor today about having dry skin and hair. My surgery was on the 11th of September, so I'm still fairly new to this and still in the healing process. Because of this, as explained by the doc, my body is still focused on healing my stomach. With that being said he recommended getting fish oil pills if this continues 3 months from my surgery date. Hopefully I can go without taking another pill, but if not I'll give that a go. Hope this helps.

This may be a stupid question...but will this cause any issues? I just started my period...go figure. I guess with stress it came a little early. I have an IUD so some times its just a trickle. But, with the blood thiner they will give me on my surgery date will that pose a problem? I guess I should let my surgeon know. What about "protection" - do I pad up or use a tampon? I feel so stupid asking this...but this my first surgery ever - and I am a little nervous / stupid about this stuff. Thanks!!!!!

Just keep it between us. I was like really? Thanks I smile politely & went to wait for my son till the bus came.

Have had the Mirena for four years and haven't had any signs of a period for at least three years. Now I've lost 43 lbs and suddenly I am having a super light period. I know weight loss can effect your cycle and in the past it definitely has affected my cycle. I just was surprised that I would have this since I have Mirena. Thoughts?

I'm 4 months post-op and I'm down 102lbs. My doc said it's phenomenal, but my hair is really, really thinning. It seems no matter how I style it, you can see scalp and bald patches. I feel fantastic, but am self conscious about my hair. Anyone else had similar experience?

Have any of you dealt with or are dealing with horrible, nasty, disgusting, kill you in your sleep flatulence? My surgeon warned me that some foul gas is normal but I swear! I'm not just making the goats faint, I'm killing them. Please tell me I'm not alone and that its not a permanent thing or atleast that there's a remedy. I'm sure it has to do with the Protein but man.... Even the house flies are begging for mercy. New Life Started 07/24/12

Need to vent something into the void, because the pressure is weighing me down. I was sleeved June 6. I am making the decision to separate from my husband of 9 years. It has been recommended by my friends and my counselors to do so. My surgeon even had some insight. "Strike while the Iron is hot" he said. "you have chosen to make a major life change, take advantage of it." He is a good person, and he means well, but we have had problems since way before my surgery. He is OCD (undiagnosed), and has very little emotional intelligence. He has refused to find a reasonable career of himself - he works for H&R block once a week. That was a compromise because h…

I noticed a few people posting that their doctor required them to go off the pill before their surgery. Does anyone know why? When I originally went to see my doctor about the surgery I was not on the pill but went on the pill after I saw him. I didn't think it was any big deal but now that I've seen a few post I'm getting worried. My surgery is on Oct. 10. I plan on calling the doctor Monday but I was wondering what everybody elses doctors told them. Was there anyone still on the pill when you had your surgery? I'm wondering if I should stop taking them now? I just hope he doesn't cancel my surgery.

Ladies, I see that we have all discovered an extra perk to our weight loss when it comes to sex. I have a question though: how have you reacted to oral sex (giving)? If using a straw puts air into my stomach thus causing gas, won't oral sex do the same thing?

I don't have surgery until next week, but I've been doing Water aerobics in preparation. Between the pre-pre-op diet, pre-op diet, and knowing that I'll be able to keep it off this time, I shrunk out of my bathing suit bottom! I finished the routine with one hand around my waistband. Not giving up yet.

Hi, My post is similar to others except I sweat EVERYWHERE! All the time, with any modicum of physical activity--walking leisurely, moving, thinking... I've been reduced to carrying a napkin around to wipe my head with. And I live in Seattle, it isn't hot here at all, and we haven't hit the humid season yet. Is this losing weight? Am I burning that much fat just living because I haven't started my workout regimen yet (I'm only 3 weeks post-op, and my doc said only walking for 6) What's going on? Anyone else have this?
