  1. I am 3 years post op and I have recently had some regain issues. Well I have been back on track for months and have been in touch with my dietician and surgeon....who keep telling me completely different things about my nutrition. My dietician says 1200 cals a day 60-80g of Protein and wanted me to up my carbs. And getting protein from lean meats rather than the shakes. My surgeon says 800-1000 cals a day low low carbs and high protein from the shakes. They both agree with exercising 5-6 times a week(which I do). I am so confused on what to do and who to listen to...yes I am asking for my records to get a second opinion but thought I would start here. So my question to you is what does your doctors/dietitians tell you?

  11. I did completely change my mindset and all that went with it. I take full responsibility for the weight gain I never said there wasn't a reason I had regained.
  12. I agree! But I still get just as full as I did before. It will be interesting to see what my doctor will say

  16. Well the nurse called me and "read" the results from the upper gi...said my stomach was approaching the normal size again. I go in to meet with my doc to talk in a couple weeks. As far as the weight gain it is because of my food choices awhile back but i never over ate, only ate a cup, I would snack a bit but not a meal or continuously, never ate and drank, haven't had anything carbonated since before my surgery, so all these myths people are saying that it cannot stretch are apparently not true lol. Basically I was talking to my dietitian and what she wanted me to do and what my surgeon wants me to do are completely opposite. I have realized that having my sleeve stretched would NOT cause weight gain but it would be the calories in vs calories out...which obviously I didn't do so good with but Iv been back on track for a month or so and finally started to see the weight go down which was NICE!
  17. I NEVER would have thought my sleeve stretched...I am so mind blown honestly...I don't understand how it could have happened.
  18. Hello all! I am 3 years post op and I have lost about 200 pounds after having the gastric sleeve. I was maintaining my weight well, I always followed the rules besides not drinking enough Water. I got all my Protein from food eating no more than 1 cup or obviously stopping when I was full. I don't exceed more than 800-1000 calories a day. I basically played it by the book. Well recently I had gained around 30 pounds in like 4 months...I did fall off the wagon for a bit but once again I never over ate, it was more my choice of food that was the problem. I quickly got back on track and have lost a few pounds. I have always been in contact with my dietitian. Recently I decided to contact my surgeon to make sure all was well. This morning I had an upper GI done and the radiologist said my sleeve has stretched...i am so upset and sick to my stomach...I dont understand how it stretched...I know my doctor wont believe me when I tell him that I never over ate...What do you guys think?
  19. This will sound weird but use deodorant on that area before you put clothes on. It helps with the rubbing. Make sure it's the powder kind and not gel or that will burn
  20. Did you experience any hair loss or saggy skin?? I am 7 weeks post op and down 60. How much did you weight at before surgery
  21. Yes I was sleeved 12/17 and down 56 pounds
  22. I have been in the depo shot since I was 16 and haven't had a period since. Well last night I noticed bleeding...any ideas?
  23. I was sleeved dec 17 and down 52 pounds.
  24. I am officially down 50 pounds and am a happy girl!!!
  25. I am 6weeks post op and I know were not suppose to eat more than 1cup of food...now, does this go by ounces or what can fit in that cup. I am very confused, I emailed my NUT just awaiting her reply so I thought I would ask you guys. I am worried that I am eating too much. I can normally eat a 3oz(if that) piece of chicken and a couple bites of cottage cheese. Is this normal or too much? I need advice please and thank you.
