I accidentally posted this in the wrong category so i'm reposting this here Today I was browsing the site and I noticed an ad that showed a picture of a woman's (extremely large) rear end with the words "give ugly girls a chance, they need love too!" (website: f-sluts.net) uhhh... I was kinda offended!! I quite frankly would expect more class from a website like this

So I was banded June 2009, almost 4 years ago. I lost 103lbs and then in December of 2012 had 1cc taken out of my band due to being too tight. I decided that I was going to try and do it on my own for a while and I failed! I weighed in and saw I gained 19lbs! What! Yup, 19lbs I said. I knew I gained but didn’t think it was that much, I was horrified so I went in for a fill the other day to get back on the band wagon. I can’t believe it still! Just when you think you can do it all on your own and you get so use to the band that you think it’s all you, it’s not! Just wanted to send put this post out there so those who’ve gained a little weight back don’t feel so alone! I …

hi all.. My name is Tia and i was banded on 9/15 through dr Tersigni.. this has been a wonderful process and things are going well. i have lost 56 pounds and went from a size 24 to 18.. I thought this info may be helpful for people who need to travel to see dr Tersigni, but if you go to coos bay for anything medically related, you can get half off your room at the Red Lion Inn. When i go I pay 63 bucks plus tax for a double queen room and the rooms are nice. Just thought if someone out there could use that information. You do need to ask for the hospital rate and let them know its surgically related.. Im excited to talk with others who have been banded in coosbay as well.…

Ok, I have just got my band filled yet again.... I have gained so much weight and I am obviously doing the wrong things. I have been eating dinner. That's about it. I work during the day and don't eat til I get off so..... I have been told to eat 5-6 small meals during the day, anyone care to share what they do. I.e what they eat. How much of it ? I lost 70lbs just from band itself, then had issued Nd had to empty it. Now that its filled I want to start losing! Fast and properly. I was told to do only shakes for 2 weeks, any ideas. I need cheap, not a lot of money at the moment.

So I have noticed in the past week that when I sit for too long and go to stand, I feel a slight pinch at my port site. Other times, like while driving, I feel tenderness at my port site. I'm pretty sure it's just from my abdomen being scrunched together but does anyone else have this problem when sitting?? I see my surgeon again on June 4.

Hello, I was banded 8-2011. I lost 50 lbs really fast, then life got in the way and I stopped exercising. Recently I have had another problem. I find myself drinking down my food so I can eat more. I hate that full feeling. It is uncomfortable, even when I eat very little. So I want to get rid of that feeling, so I drink after I eat too. Anyone else???? How did you fix it???

So I have gone to Ruby Tuesday twice now since my surgery on April 5th. Even when I order from the Fit & Trim menu and stay well within my calorie goal for the day I have gone up a pound or more and it takes 3 days to get it off again. I don't get it! Maybe it's the salt content??? It's so not worth going out to eat. I definitely prefer to cook at home and know exactly what I am eating. Has anyone else had this same issue?

Yesterday was my first fill. I wasn't really sure what to expect. Everything seemed to happen really fast. He had the needle attached and sat me up. I drank Water and he asked me to visualize a funnel and asked me if it felt like it was draining slowly or quickly. It felt like when I was at the eye doc and they flip the stupid thingies and ask which one is better...this one/ or this one? UGH. I said, "it seems ok". I wasn't sure what I was supposed to feel or if I felt anything. I feel so stupid now. I remember post op I had gurgling when I drank water and knew when I was drinking too quickly. It does NOT feel like that. I can still drink fast. He said I have…

Is there a restriction for LapBand? I called my surgeon's office and the nurse said, "yeah, I think you're fine, but mention it to the MRI technician, they will know for sure." It was the radiology department that told me to call my surgeon. Has anyone here had an MRI after the LapBand procedure? I guess I can call the manufacturer tomorrow, but I just wondered if anyone here has had one. I can't be the first person with a band that needs an MRI. Gee Whizz, you'd think someone could give me a solid answer.

My doc says liquids three days, fourth and fifth day mushies. But my stomach is growling loud and I'm hungry. So far it's water and premiere protein shakes. any suggestions?

8 lbs! Wow. 3 previous cruises I didn't gain a lb. This is the first one with no fill in my band (slipped last month, waiting till late June for a sleeve revision). I ate with no abandon. eggs Benedict and corn beef hash for Breakfast, the buffet for lunch, a lavish dinner - and has anyone had Carnival Cruise Lines warm chocolate melting cake? It's to die for. I ate it EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Then at about 11 pm, I'd order another dessert from room service- just because I could. Didn't go to the gym even once. Walked alot in ports, but obviously not enough. So it's official. I've now gained 30 lbs since getting married Dec 2011. It just crept up on me. About 1/2 of my clos…

Had my first PB the other day. Wow. What a feeling. I was banded 2/20/2013. I am down 37 lbs and have had two fills. First fill was ok, noticed that I could not eat as much food and had some restriction. Had second fill 4 weeks later and what a difference. Lots of restriction and toddler size portions. Saturday I wolfed down carrots and hummus. Big mistake. I thought I chewed enough but I think I ate it too fast. For about 20 minutes I couldn't stop spitting. Such a weird feeling. I sat down and with no warning other than the slime, water and chewed up carrots shot out of my mouth like a cannon. I am so glad this took place in my bedroom and in private. I can't imagine …

Just got done about a half hour ago with my second fill. I have lost 27 pounds in 6 weeks. I am very proud of that number but I'm eager to get to 30 pounds lost lol. Still have a long way to go but at least I'm getting closer. My first fill was painful but this time I didn't even feel it! It was great. I'm up to 4cc. Nurse was not sure why Dr didn't give me the full 3 last time so she was a bit hesitant to give me more than two. Its okay with me tho because I know its working. Yay! Starting my 5k training this week for a family 5k in October. Also hoping to tighten and tone my body as well as drop more weight. 27 pounds lost and 11 inches lost. Yay!

I have been for 3 fills since my surgery on 1/10/13. The first under fluoro in the hospital. The stick was no big deal, but my dr really had to dig around for a loooong time before finding the spot to give me a fill-but I did get a fill. The second time was in the office (4/10/13) and the np stuck me three different times and was really digging around again and could not find the spot to give me a fill. So, she sent me back to the hospital later on to try with my dr under fluoro again. That appt was yesterday. The same thing happened again, lots of digging around, only one stick though and still no fill. Now I have to go on the 30th for a port adjustment. He is go…

I had my appointment today, got asked the same questions as last time. Admitted to eating larger portions than needed and having problems eating too fast. I wasn't really getting stuck as much as being uncomfortable and waiting for the food to finally bounce past the band. With that info we added 1cc today bringing me to 3cc total. Learning from last time I will be on liquids the rest of the day and tomorrow as well. Surgery date March 20th, 2013 I was 256lbs Today I weighed in at 237.8lbs They want me to get to 199lbs and at 6ft tall I want to get to 180-185 lbs and be out of the overweight bmi category. To their standards I have lost 31%of my excess weight, fo…

I am looking for some suggestions from those who had slips and gained weight back. I was banded in 2008 and lost 60 pounds fairly quickly. I have gained 50 of that back. Today I decided to go on liquids for 2 days (if i can make myself do it), and then mushies the next day after that to try to get myself restarted. I'm also going to make a solid effort to put that drink away while eating. That is my biggest downfall. I am hoping to generate some feedback and suggestions for those of you that have had the slip-ups like I had. How did you get back in the game?

HI all!! I had an appointment today with my regular doctor and got my referal for lap band. I go for my information seminar on the 24th. The receptionist that scheduled me said my insurance requires 9 months of dr supervised diet to get approval. I have sleep apnea and my BMI is over 40 so my doctor feels there will be no problem getting approval! I'm anxious to see what the next year holds and to get to "know" everyone here! Amy

It's official I'm addicted to yogurt and granola ( a certain brand ). I'm not banded yet but I've been on a high protein low carb diet. I've been measuring it out so I could allot for it in my caloric intake, but tonight before I could stop myself I so binged on it. I don't think I will be able to incorporate it into by diet with the band. I've tried changing brands but I just won't it at all. Do you think I have to give it up all together? Has anyone had or have a food that they are addicted to and what have you done about it? Thanks for any advice.

How quickly I forgot. It's been years since I've dealt with fills. I recently had surgery and had to get a complete band deflate. 1 month after surgery I went in to get my fill back, which, was the same amount in cc's before I had the surgery. I did the 1 day clear liquid, 1 day shakes, 1 day mushies then full meal as I've done in the past for every fill. One week later and I feel very little to no restriction since the fill. Yesterday, I tested the fill. I had a hotdog with bun and had no problem eating the whole thing. Should I be concerned or am I being inpatient? I will place a call with my doc today, but, until then any feedback would be appreciated. Jak…

I'm not sure if lapband/weight loss is the culprit but I've passed 7 kidney stones since my surgery in January 2013. Some were over 7mm's! Personally I think it's because I forget to drink now that I can't drink with meals and I'm no longer a diabetic! Anyone else experiencing problems with kidney stones?

Back into gear. I was banded Jan/2012 and have lost right at 100 pounds. Now I seem to be right back to my old addictions (p'nut m&m's, ice cream, Hershey's). I guess it's because I we a yr I was successful in avoiding that junk. But for some reason after Easter I can't stop getting some type of that (oh yea an Pringles) once a day. I'm not stomach hungry, I'm head hungry for that junk. Also I've been extremely successful in avoiding drinks 30/1hr before and after food. But what I suck most at is eating slow and recognizing when my pouch is full. Thanks for reading this just typing it means I've admitted in slipping off the wagon. I'm in charleston,sc if you're close.…

I'm 3 weeks post op, my posts probably don't matter anymore. I've been through hell and back these past three weeks. I had the band revised, then developed an infection and two days later was back on the operating table having the band removed and a drain tube and feeding tube. I could have died which is so freaky! Those are both out now and I'm feeling better. I'm going to miss seeing my dr. I might meet up with the nutritionist and i want to keep in touch with my surgeon. He said that if later down the road I find that I can't lose weight on my own that I'm still a good candidate for other weightloss surgery. But going through all of what I have been through, I really w…

Just a shout out its been two weeks since my sleeve and feeling a bit stronger each day! I am a bit nervous about how little I eat but doctor says I am on course. I had the band out and sleeve done at same time and will say I did occur a lot of pain...I knew there would be pain, but not like that. Come to find out they weren't giving me the right dose of pain meds....that helped once they fixed that. The second day was very rough. I did say those words, "Why did I do this to myself". I still do....its just a lot of emotions right now. I have a good support system at home though. My first check up I lost 19 pounds.WOW! I eat a lot of yogurt....just my thing right now. Can'…

I was banded 10/12 and have been pretty successful with it. I vomited about 10 days ago - once - and since, have been uncomfortably tight. I'm going to call my doctor today, but what do you guys usually do when this happens? Go back to liquids for a few days? Do the 5 day pouch test? I really don't want to have Fluid removed because I was in the green zone. Also, I have NO reflux or PB, so I really don't think it slipped. Maybe it's just irritated and mad at me? I'm going to try liquids today.. and, yes, I'm going to call my doctor. Thanks in advance! jenymac

I have the realize band and have to have all my fills under fluoroscopy. Since he has been doing this, every fill shows my stomach is spasming and he has a difficult time determining how much liquid to put in. I go back tomorrow. Here is what is happening. I can sometimes eat and have no problem swallowing amounts that exceed what I should be eating. However, then there are days where I throw up from Water. I think it has something to do with the stomach spasaming. I do not want him to unfill everything and gain all this weight back. I don't know how to address this - isn't there something he can give me to stop the spasms? I should add he says I have a hiatal hernia but …
