I am just over six months post gastric sleeve. I am wondering whether anyone had noticed that since having a VSG whether: 1). Their periods have got noticeably/considerably lighter; and 2). Whether anyone has also noticed their cycles speeding up. My cycle used to be around 26/27 days in length but is now around 23/24 days in length since I had the weight loss surgery. I have also noticed that my periods are much lighter. My cycles have always been very regular. I had a VSG to lose weight so that I can have IVF as I have Endometriosis. Hence why I am concerned about changes in cycle as I am worried it could be adversely affecting my fertility even more…

Hiiiiii guysssss!!!!! Had a happy moment today! I weight for the first time since surgery. I’m down 20lbs from my beginning weight. Beginning weight: 265 day of surgery: 252 current: 245 That was the scale victory. I could've cried. ?? But I was sitting down speaking with someone, and I comfortably crossed my legs!!! BLEW MY MIND. It’s always been uncomfortable, but I’ve done it out of habit and to be “lady like”. Wow guys. Just wow.

Greetings! I’m just shy of two weeks post-op (VSG @ Mayo Clinic) and per their nutrition guide I’ve introduced low-fat creamy soup into my diet. Not gonna lie, it’s a very welcome change since the first week. As of today, I’m able eat about 3/4 of a coffee cup (I’m guessing volumewise it’s a little under a cup). Overall, I feel fine after eating it (i.e. - no “stuck food” feeling or anything). Should I be able to intake/handle that much at this point in my recovery? It seems like more than I should be able to, but I imagined I’d feel gross if that was the case. Thanks, All!

Curious if anyone has experienced left shoulder pain post op? Most of the time no pain at all, but sometimes I get this dull pain right on my left shoulder that lingers for several minutes. No numbness or tingling, nor is my heart feeling weird. And I haven't done anything extreme with left arm either. Is this a common thing if I miss on some nutrients or something?

It's been 2wks since my surgery, so my dietician started me of soft foods today and for next 2.5mos. I soft scrambled an egg for lunch. Added just a touch of lowrys and black pepper. It was so good I got it down in less than 10min. Had that with a stick of mozz string cheese. Felt okay afterward too. Dinner I had 2.5oz of teriyaki flavored soft chicken and 4 wheat thins. I feel a little discomfort, likely the wheat thins. Swore I chewed them pretty well. I'd really like to scramble 2 eggs for breakfast tomorrow, and eat what I can. I just want to be really mindful of meal weight or volume so I don't exceed what's allowed, and stretch my stomach.

Tuesday was my 6 week mark. The weight is coming off slowly and I am so happy with the progress. I’m working out but not overly ambitious. I’m having trouble with my energy level. I tire very easily. I want to nap most days by noon. I am so exhausted by the end of the day, it’s hard to move. I’m also weak. My body is hypersensitive right now to pain. It’s making me insane. I had 4 immunizations on Tuesday. The arm with the flu and tetanus woke me up with pain. The muscles tightened all the way to my neck. Just ridiculous. im getting 50 grams of protein a day. I’m only consuming protein drinks and water at this point. I had a dairy issue last week which left me …

I am having bad heartburn with pretty much everything I eat. Foods that coat my stomach (cottage cheese, pudding, mashed potatos) are about the only things that don't cause it. Will this get better? I hope so. I had the sleeve done. I am also having problems swallowing my medicine that has to be split in half. I tried crushing them but they tasted terrible even when mixed with food. Is this normal? Should I call my surgeon? It seems to be getting worse. Otherwise I do not regret having this done. I have lost 50 pounds and feel so much better. The knee pain and general body aches are almost gone and my energy levels are getting better!

I don't know if something like this already exists. If it does, please direct me to the right place, and feel free to delete this post. If it doesn't, please read on. I started my journey at 360 lbs. I realize that regardless of where you are in your journey, support is important. I do, however, want to connect with people who are in a similar place in their journey, so we can be on a somewhat close timetable. I am currently at 307 lbs, so if you are in this ballpark, give or take 20 lbs, please connect with me as friends. I would love to root for you, and would like to have your support in return. I like to have actual connections, so anyone who is interested …

How the heck can I lose so slow when I'm only eating a fraction of what i was before? It just baffles me. So, I upped my calories and ate 800 as opposed to my normal 600 and gained a lb. Man, this is screwing with me. I wish I was like the others consistently losing each day.

Yesterday was 2 months for me. Still at 57 pounds down - been at 270 for a week now. Hovering between 270-272 depending on the day. I've been following my plan, tracking my food and everything but still no movement. This is my first true stall, the others were just slowdowns but I'd still lose a pound or two over the course of the week. It's incredibly frustrating. I hope I'm not one of those who lose 50-60 pounds quickly and just stop. I didn't do all this just for that. Working out has been going good, hitting it at least 5 days a week. Lifting 3x and barre or walking the other 2 days. I plan to go home and walk 3 miles today and hope that helps my stall. …

I'm 3 weeks post op. When I went to my post op appt a week and a half ago, the nurse told me to stay at around 600 calories a day. This would of been funny to me pre-surgery but now its easy. How ever, I have done a little experimenting and it seems like a lose a little more if I eat a bit more calories, just a bit. So some days I stay at 600 others I try to go up a bit. What are everyone's calories looking like day to day???

So I am seriously considering having gastric sleeve surgery but I'm afraid of what I can eat post surgery. I am not a vegetable eater( I can eat lettuce and maybe raw carrots, that's it...). I'm afraid that this might hinder my success. Anyone out there in the same boat? Have you been successful? Just wondering what others think:) Thanks!!

Everyone (who knows) asks me if I am glad I had surgery.... HECK YEAH! 15 1/2 weeks post op. For the first 2 1/2 months, I lost weight at a quicker than average pace according to what is expected. Then I went through 4 weeks of barely loosing. The scale would go down 1/2-1 pound, then up 2-3 pounds for an entire week, then I would drop 1/2 -1 pounds below that lowest weight that I accomplished the week before. Then I would go up another 2-3 pounds for another week and repeat. It was frustrating, but I knew my body would slow down at some point to "catch up". I also knew that while the scale was barely moving, my body shape was still changing. To date: I lost 21 pounds i…
