Who was given this to take? My doc prescribed this to me because of my severe nausea. I have to dissolve it into water before taking and take it as a shot. Question: can I drink a chaser after? I’m assuming it’s going to taste horrible ? I know I can’t eat, but what about drinking?

I'm new here, I had my initial appointment with the surgeon last Thursday and told him I was unsure which procedure I wanted. He said I was a good candidate for surgery and that with my BMI either surgery was a good choice. He pretty much said to keep doing more research and go with what my gut told me. While I appreciate the trust he has in me deciding, I'm of course worried I'll choose wrong. He did say that he currently does about 10 Sleeves for every Bypass. Currently leaning heavily towards the sleeve, but I'm a bit worried about GERD. It hasn't been a major problem for me, but I know it's a risk that it can get worse. Also sounds like slightly less weight …

Hello All, I am checking in to see how everyone is doing. I was sleeved from a band on February 26th, 2018. I am so thrilled with the results. I went through what most people described here as 3 month stalls, 5 month stalls, 6 month stalls, Than I start loosing again. I have to say this tool is now really starting to be powerful. A lot of my old habits are slipping away, especially my compulsiveness with food. Would love to hear about good bad and the ugly. Anyone out there with a lap band still in and struggling with throwing up on a regular basis and minimal weight loss, talk to your Dr. I found a new practice and it was done in one surgery. I regret going…

I remember posting in December 2019 and a poster wanted to see a male before/after pic. The first one is from my highest weight ever at 314 in August 2019. I am now 244, 70 down since then and 46 down since surgery on December 17. I've been active as a basketball referee and playing pickup games in basketball. I also walk around 3 miles a day at work; not all at once, but in spurts throughout the collective day. Aflac paid me for my surgery through my hospital indemnity policy so I thought that was great! My health insurance paid their part 100% so I'm looking at getting a loan soon to pay off the rest. It was well worth it!

Hi everyone, Tomorrow is the big day! I'm in at 7:15 and will be in the OR at 9am. I had 3 c-sections and my last turned into an emergency hysterectomy so I'm familiar to recovering from surgery. I'm still super nervous because it's still an operation...I'm taking a week off of work and I'm reading a lot (too much is what my hubby would say) just to know what to expect. I really want to make sure I recover well. Aside from all the wonderful posts I've read here, I found Dr. Vong on YouTube who has made some very informative videos. I have struggled with my weight since 2012. At that point I was working out and getting on track which off course meant that the n…

So lots of people are saying certain foods don't sit well with them or they only manage 2oz. Well I have tried loads of different foods and nothing bad has happened also I can eat way more than 2oz and still nothing happens. I'm beginning to think the surgery was fake and they just knocked me out and woke me up again. Is this normal.

I am a 57 yr. old woman and was 250 lbs, 5'4". I had my gastric sleeve surgery on 2/21/20 and things went very smoothly. I was on a 2 week pre-op liquid diet and lost 14 lbs preoperatively. The first 3 days after surgery, when I was on clear liquids, I dropped another 6 lbs. But the needle on the scale has stopped since I started Full Liquids (3rd day of full liquids). Now I'm terrified that once I start pureed foods and move up from there, my weight will also move up instead of down.. Has anybody had any experience with this? I'm very worried that, based on past experience, no matter how much effort I put in, it just won't work. Am I expecting too much too soon?

I am actually very upset about the situation because i don't feel I had a hernia problem. I feel like suing him at this point because I am in more pain than i need to be because of this and my bellybutton is swollen an looks ugly

Coming on to my fourth day post op after having sleeve surgery done on 2/18/20. Curious as to a few things. I’m not very hungry at all until I overthink it, I am a very tall large younger man and my suggested intake of protein just seems unrealistic. I have only been able to drink at tops 2 protein shakes for a total of 60 grams of protein. I’m doing my best to stay hydrated but I can’t only drink one ounce at a time, is that rule ok to be broken I feel like an ounce doesn’t even coat my mouth before swallowing. My incision sites have all been healing pretty well but the largest one the skin around it is turning black and blue as if it was bruised. Is that normal or did…

I know my weight loss journey is far from over, but to finally be under a number you use to think was a pipe dream has a good feel to it. Im very proud of myself and ready to continue to transform my body. TONE TONE TONE now. But im very excited for my future. I couldnt say that a year ago.

Hello all! I had Gastric Sleeve surgery on 4/9/19. I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary but I am still 20lbs or so away from losing 100lbs. At month 6 I experienced a 3 month stall that I just recently broke after trying intermittent fasting. I'm kinda bummed that I probably won't meet the "100lbs down in a year" goal. Did anyone else NOT lose 100lbs in their 1st year? If you didn't, were you upset or discouraged about it?

Hi Folks, been scouring the posts and it seems like most sleevers get GERD, which is disconcerting but I know it's preferable to being overweight. Are you getting GERD because your surgeon made your sleeve too small? I'm specifically asking if you didn't have GERD before. Thinking I might just switch my surgery to the bypass to avoid this. I still don't know which procedure to get...ARGH

Hey y'all, my highest weight was 327lbs? I had the vsg on 5/2/17. I got down to 211lbs then found out I was pregnant in 4/18. I got up to 227lbs during pregnancy. I lost that pregnancy weight right away, but have been stuck at 211lbs since having baby almost 15 months ago. I have been tracking my food not going over 1,200 and exercising 3 days a week. Anyone else have a stall?

I had my first appointment with surgeon yesterday. It was a little disappointing when he said I could expect to loss about 70 to 80 lbs. While that is a lot and I would love that weight loss, I was actually hoping to hear more like 100 lbs. Now I realize this is just a guess, and it all depends on my body and how diligent I am regarding activity and diet afterwards. However I was wondering if any one else got a number like this and surpassed the expectation of the doctors first expectations? I am looking at the sleeve I am currently 264 lbs and would like to be closer to 150 lbs. I remember myself at that weight and it was a very healthy weight for me. However this…

Hi Friends, I am almost 7 weeks post VSG. At this point I eat solid food that I chew thoroughly. According to instruction package that I got from my doctor, my portions should be between 1/4 and 1/2 a cup at this point. This amount of food doesn’t satisfy me... I can eat more. When I asked my nutritionist, she said that I should eat as much as I need to feel satisfied and that it varies from person to person. I struggle with that answer because I don’t want to stretch my pouch somehow. I measure everything in 4-6 oz portions and do not go over, BUT I WANT TO.......Can I eat more? Someone told me that our pouch can only hold 4 oz of food. What are your though…

Hey everyone, 1st of all, the surgery has changed my life! Being 204 lbs at 6’0 tall is life changing! I haven’t been this weight since college in 1992. I have a football players body so broad shoulders big build. Everyone has commented how great I look. I had my surgery on 10/6/19 Heres the problem: For the last 6 weeks I’ve stopped losing weight. I’m stuck at 204. my stomach isn’t happy with pure protein. Right around Thanksgiving, I started noticing that when I ate protein of anytype my stomach would growl and seriously cramp and be upset until I could mix carbs in with the protein -then my stomach would be satisfied. Then I started eating a …

Hi I'm Crystal. I'm new on here. I had my sleeve surgery done 11/15/19. But I feel so alone in my experience. The first night in the hospital was traumatizing, I experienced pain like no other. The pain I had was almost like my entire stomach contracted and it was horrific to feel!!! So I was kept there for the whole weekend. I've been home now and I've been okay. Turning at night and finding a "comfortable"position is nearly possible. Has anyone else had a hellish recovery process ?!?! Or is mine abnormal?! And the whole "days 3 to the 6th day are the worst", is no joke! Ahhh please tell me I'm not the only one in this painfulness

I had surgery on 5/3/16 & sadly, I haven't been losing weight since my surgery. It will be week 3 come Tuesday 5/24. And I'm starting to think my surgery was a failure in some way. My stats: 5'3" 26yrs old Starting weight 225 Surgery weight 208 5/4 Day after surgery 200 (I lost 8 pounds overnight) Current weight 198 From 5/4 till now (5/19) I've only lost 2 pounds(which happened after 10 days). I know everyone's body is different, but it seems impossible for me to not lose weight after surgery. I was expecting to lose weight each week, and then hit the 3 week stall like most people talk about. But instead I'm stalling the entire first 3 weeks. I'm …

Hi there, I'm new to this....my Surgery is next Friday -- I am nervous for the pain during the recovery. How much pain are people in in the days following the surgery? I am planning on bringing my laptop and working from the hotel here and there the following week, 3 days after the surgery -- will that even be possible? Any insights on how days 1, 2, 3, and 4 were would be greatly appreciated. I am beyond excited for the new chapter afterwards, but am just trying to anticipate what to expect. Thanks for any experiences.

I go under the blade on the 27th. My orientation booklet says not to have strenuous sex for four weeks after surgery? I usually masturbate furiously several times a week. This just won't work for me. I can't think straight unless I "clear the plumbing". I wonder if there is something I can take to reduce my sex drive? Pictures of Nancy Pelosi maybe?

Hi everyone, I am new here but I have been in my Bariatric program for 8 months of so. I had a surgery date for February 4th however a week before my surgery I went to get cleared by my primary care. My EKG came back normal but she decided to send me to the Cardiologist and have him review my results just incase my surgeon decided something additional would be needed at the last minute. I went to the Cardiologist and after his initial check he said he would clear me. He then asked what kind of surgery I was having and once I told him he responds with "Are you sure you want to do that?" He then decides to look into the labs database at some blood work results I had done ov…
