New to this page. Had sleeve done 11/15/19

Hi I'm Crystal. I'm new on here. I had my sleeve surgery done 11/15/19. But I feel so alone in my experience. The first night in the hospital was traumatizing, I experienced pain like no other. The pain I had was almost like my entire stomach contracted and it was horrific to feel!!! So I was kept there for the whole weekend. I've been home now and I've been okay. Turning at night and finding a "comfortable"position is nearly possible. Has anyone else had a hellish recovery process ?!?! Or is mine abnormal?! And the whole "days 3 to the 6th day are the worst", is no joke! Ahhh please tell me I'm not the only one in this painfulness

My pain was bad... I'm still not sleeping well from the pain I get. I slept 6.5 hours last night and it was a blessing - first time sleeping on my stomach (with doctor permission) since the surgery. S

Welcome Crystal,

I'm new as well, just found the forums. We are on similar journeys. I had my surgery on 11/26/19. I didn't really have much pain, but I had a horrible open gallbladder removal surgery done in June of '19 so any pain I did have would have paled in comparison. So sorry you had so much pain.

Hope you are doing well on your journey. I've lost about 66lbs to date, but I've hit a horrible stall for the last few weeks. So very frustrating, but apparently very normal. So glad I found these forums so that I don't feel like a complete and utter failure.

Hi Crystal! I had pretty bad pain for 4 weeks. It did get better everyday. I even went to the ER a week or 2 post op and everything was fine. I guess we all heal differently and handle pain different. It’s normal. Just work your plan. I don’t have much of a support either. But BP is always here!

Welcome! This forum is amazing and so much support! Glad to have you. Luckily you didn't experience much pain from the surgery, because it was horrific for me. I still have tender spots I guess from nerves repairing etc. I too, have hit a stall but was told it's normal as well. There's plenty of support and encouragement on this forum! You're definitely not a failure ? we're here for you and along for the ride of your journey as well ?
