checking in with February sleevers

Hello All,

I am checking in to see how everyone is doing. I was sleeved from a band on February 26th, 2018. I am so thrilled with the results. I went through what most people described here as 3 month stalls, 5 month stalls, 6 month stalls, Than I start loosing again. I have to say this tool is now really starting to be powerful. A lot of my old habits are slipping away, especially my compulsiveness with food. Would love to hear about good bad and the ugly.

Anyone out there with a lap band still in and struggling with throwing up on a regular basis and minimal weight loss, talk to your Dr. I found a new practice and it was done in one surgery. I regret going on as long as I did with my lap band not working, and so afraid that I would fail again like so many times before. I can honestly say, I am not failing at gastric sleeve bariatric surgery. This is what I had hoped my sleeve would do.

anyone out there considering a revision and needs to ask questions please ask.

I wonder what it will be like in Year two.

I want to stay strong and balanced.

If I can maintain this 85 pound loss I will be happy but still hoping for 15 more.

Hey, Dawn! Congrats on the 85-pound loss. I'll bet you drop the other 15 this year! You've done so well considering you weren't really heavy to begin with!

I'm curious - for the others who just hit the one year mark - how many have had to get their gallbladder out? I had to part company with mine the day after my 1-year surgiversary. I think the stats said about 25%, but I'm curious to hear from real people.

Oh my goodness. You had a gallbladder attack and surgery?

What were the signs?

I only had pain right under the sternum if I ate anything with even a minimum amount of fat. Most people also get nausea and vomiting, but I just had pain. At first, I thought it was gas because I had upped the volume of cruciferous veggies in my diet, but the pain was too high in my abdomen for that.

Does this continue for ever lol or will it stop, I'm at my goal and just want to be consistent no gain it loss.

I don’t believe it is humanly possible to stay at a consistent weight day in and day out. So, yes, I would guess it probably will last forever

Checking in at 18 months.

Looking to see if anyone else got offered Naltrexone at their 18 month appointment.

I have been steady at 175 for a long time. My lowest was 167. something. I expressed a desire to lose the last 20 pounds and was offered Naltrexone, due to the fact that I have been on Wellbutrin for 17 years already. Surprisingly enough I jumped at it.

I feel like this is a magic pill. My add symptoms are completely gone. (completely) been struggling for years off and on Adderall and achieved my degree going back to school huge struggle but did it.

I am lucky that I never got my hunger back. Still get full really quick. Where last year I could eat only 4 ounces maybe now 6. But my craving for something remained. Not sugar or flour or any one thing, But just the knee jerk response to life of getting up and getting something. As a new Accountant I have struggled with Attention to detail. which is really bad for an accountant.

This Naltrexone has changed all that in a few short days. I am baffled. Really baffled. Ive dropped about 3 pounds this week. I am not looking for lunch at 12:00 oclock anymore. Its like 1:45 when I look up from my work that has been completely done flawlessly amazed.

Just reaching out to see if anyone else has been offered the drug and had any experience good bad or ugly with it.

I should note I went back on my Adderall and upped my Wellbutrin back to the normal level , I had let it slip to a low dose.

Anyway I hope you are all doing well.

sincere regards

Dawn Marie
