Curious as to what foods you are allowed to eat right after surgery. I will only be allowed water, sugarfree sports drinks, sugarfree ice tea, broth, sugar free ice pops (only 1 a day) and sugar free jello. I have to do this for 2 weeks. ?

Hi all. So glad i found this forum.. I had my sleeve done on the 22nd October 2 weeks today. My incisions have all healed up pretty well but i have this nagging dull pain under my left boob (Sorry TMI). I cant wear a bra as it makes the pain worst and it knocks me for 6. It seems to be 1 particular incision site thats causing the pain and its the largest incision site too. I get out of breath from both pain and "little activity" ( have a 20month old so take that as you will lol) Is this normal??

I ate a small 4 oz container of yogurt yesterday. I think I am experiencing dumping. Although this is so much worse than I imagined. I have been so sick for the last 17 hours. I can’t keep anything down and minimal rest on bathroom floor. How long does this last?

Before my surgery I used to take Garcinia Cambogia for weight loss and I loved it because I could see results pretty quick on top of my dieting without any horrible side effects (jitters, diarrhea, nausea, etc). I got my sleeve which was the best decision I’ve ever made. But I’ve been on these plateaus and I have ten more pounds that I can’t seem to get off no matter what i do. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting back on GC to see if it would help me shed these last ten pounds. But I don’t know what the precautions are for taking dietary supplements on top of the sleeve? Has anyone tried to take dietary supplements with their sleeve?

So, I decided to move forward with the surgery around Oct 17th, consulted with my doc on Oct 30th, Set surgery date for Dec 9th! (I am self-pay) So this week I have to schedule my mental evaluation and nutritionist appointment. I am so excited I can just scream! My flight arrangements are made and hotel room booked! (flying to Denver for my doctor and my sister will be coming to stay with me after surgery) So I started fooling around on Amazon a bit looking for some carry on bags for my flight and stuff. I saw some pretty cool Bariatric plates and bowls with line guides (WOW) and a great little mini blender to take with me for the hotel room. So, my question fo…

Hi everyone. I was sleeved 02/2018. I lost all my weight and hovered around 172 for a few months. I had a death in the family and I fell into some really bad old habits. I take full responsibility for my actions. I have gained 24 lbs since my lowest weight of 168. I got on the scale this morning at 192. I stopped exercising, I have been eating horribly, and it seems with certain foods and at certain times it feels like I can eat a full meal. I remember in the beginning when four ounces was a lot. I can eat way more then that I have been over the past few months. Tomorrow I am looking to change things around and go back to the basics. Unfortunately I am not on good te…

I was sleeved October 1st, 2019 and I have a specific question about water intake. I have now lost 19 since surgery, but I am struggling with consuming 64 oz of water, in fact I had to get an IV due to dehydration. I know that I am not getting quite enough water, but is 64 oz really necessary? How does it help? If I can get some accurate and specific information, I would be better able to comply. My workplace is rather jerk-intensive, and I have been told that if I keep taking short breaks I will need to get a letter from my doctor, to submit to HR, to avoid "problems". Please advise, thanks.

I am beyond happy! Now I only have 40 lbs to get to my first weight goal of 180 and total of 80 lbs to till I hit my ultimate goal of 140. Normally I weigh myself on Mondays but this week so many people at work such as parents and coworkers (I work at a school) Have commented “ hey skinny you” or “ hey smaller you”. So I have decided to weigh myself a little early yesterday morning, and I checked the scale three times because I couldn’t Believe what I saw on the scale. And not even a week I had lost 4.8lbs! Last week I lost 3.8 pounds. Before that for the last four weeks I had been losing only 2.8 and most pounds a week. So I started to do some YouTube research and peopl…

I got the call this afternoon from my surgeon’s office with my surgery date - December 2nd! I will be on the preop diet on Thanksgiving, but I’m so excited right now, I could care less! It just occurred to me that we’ll be on vacation with several couples for New Years, and I’ll be on the purée stage, how interesting is this going to be?

Does anyone know if the staples left from sleeve gastrectomy are safe in an MRI four years post op? I tried to call my Bariatric surgeons office, but have not heard back and his MA was less than helpful. My daughter is having an MRI tomorrow, and I’m not sure if it will be safe for me to go in with her. Thanks!

Anyone dealing with trying to cope with their food addiction and recovering from gastric sleeve surgery? I know this surgery should be used as a tool and the whole food addiction should go out the window. Sometimes I just think how long it's been since I had a cookie or chips or something like that. Then my head goes crazy. I haven't gotten my appetite back so it's not like I'm starving and just wanna binge on food for that reason. I probably sound crazy to most people. I guess it's just been hard preparing meals for my family and i just sit down with 1/4 cup of tuna. Ok so this is probably more of a vent. Halloween candy everywhere and I'm just venting lol This is suppos…

Sorry if TMI, but who else can I ask? Doing protein shakes and was so happy to finally that delicious premier protein drink you guys recommended , except about thirty minutes after at work I had to run to the bathroom ... this didn’t happen when I tried it yesterday. Never happens with Bariatric advantage... happened a couple times with other drinks like quest and iconic protein. As you can tell my dr didn’t give me much of a pre or post op consultation . Also what is “dumping “

I had my gastric sleeve done in October ‘16. On the day of my surgery I was 207 lbs and by July ‘17 I was 144. I loved that weight. Initially after surgery I had no hunger. I could barely consume 200 calories a day for the first 4 months. For a long time after that, I struggled to get to 800 calories. My surgeon wanted me to increase my caloric intake bc I wasn’t eating enough. And honestly I really didn’t want to eat solids. Fast forward to Spring ‘18. I was ravenous. Still am. I’m hungry all the time. I’ve had some regain. Currently I’m 160, and I’m 5’1”. Not exactly obese but not as lean as I used to be. Based on my physiological composition 135 is ideal. Thi…

Hi guys, it’s been a while since I used this app but now at the pint in red help, support, advice. In short I had gastric sleeve surgery in January 2017 and the weight just fell off particularly in the first year - 18 months. At the point of surgery I was told there would be some things I would be able to eat but I haven’t had any issues like that at all and can eat pretty much whatever I want. Now it’s got to the point that I am defiantly regaining weight and it’s seems like it is coming back on quite quickly. I noticing it most with some people mentioning they have noticed it, defiantly feel it and see it in the way my clothes are fitting me etc . Has an…

Aloha all, I'm relatively new to this site and have just started my VSG journey, so I thought this might be a good first post. I've completed the informational session and have my initial consultation and NUT appointments at the end of March. According to the nurse at the info session, this doctor requires a minimum of two months nicotine-free (using the honor system) in order to be eligible for surgery. Due to some scheduling coordination issues, I plan to have the VSG in July, so I've got plenty of time to quit and still have two months before the surgery. My question to you fine folks is this: is anyone else in this same position? Anyone trying to quit? I'm o…

I've been having problems at work with this one lady; we will call her D. She was pretty cold to me when I first started working there. Months later, her and another coworker (we will call her E) bullied me pretty badly because I used to listen to my headphones while they loudly discussed how they felt about gay people. I am a Christian, but I DO NOT agree with anyone calling gay people faggots and damning them to Hell. Only God has the right to judge them. I actually love LGBT people. They are great and fun to be around. But my coworker D called them faggots and sissies. That really bothered me, so I decided the best thing for me to do was listen to my music with my head…

Which one do you do ? Which one is right? Puree phase I did 4 ounce to fit in a 4 ounce container. Now I'm 6 week out. 4 ounces of Solis food won't fit in a 4 once container. ( it might if I cut it up) I want to do this right... I bought so many 4 ounce containers now I'm thinking of just buying small container's for meal prep.

My BMI is 35.7. 5'2 weighing 195. I'm in my 40s with hypertension, prediabetes, and psuedotumor cerebri. All 3 were listed as comorbidities. I have Horizon Omnia insurance and hope as I begin this journey that I will be approved for surgery. My initial consultation is in a few weeks so I would love to get a heads up on the process as well link up with others who have had similar stats. I wonder if I will lose too much weight. I don't think I would look right under 130lbs. Any input, suggestions, and advice is appreciated. Thank you[emoji4]

Question for those of you that have gone through something similar. I simply don't want to eat. I'm 5 months post VSG and I am not hungry at all. I know I should be eating 3 meals a day with 2 healthy snacks in between to get all my protein in. However, I'm just not hungry. I'm either forcing myself to eat 3 bites of something before the restriction sets in, or I will completely forget to eat altogether. Should I continue forcing myself to eat something when my body doesn't want it?
