2 weeks post op and in pain on day 13 and 14 whats going on!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

So glad i found this forum.. I had my sleeve done on the 22nd October 2 weeks today. My incisions have all healed up pretty well but i have this nagging dull pain under my left boob (Sorry TMI). I cant wear a bra as it makes the pain worst and it knocks me for 6. It seems to be 1 particular incision site thats causing the pain and its the largest incision site too.

I get out of breath from both pain and "little activity" ( have a 20month old so take that as you will lol)

Is this normal??

Not that I can relate to the boob thing but these incisions take a while to heal, From the outside they look healed but inside they are not. The left one is where the camera or light was put in so they most likely had to jiggle it around during surgery to light or see. The right one is where they pried up your liver to get to your stomach. I had issues with my right one since they used my rib to lift. Get a CBC cream that seemed to numb my sore spot for awhile. It will pass once they healing is done - took me about 7 weeks till they did not bother me. As for the 20 Month old good luck with that!

Yes. That's where the biggest equipment went and where they enter into your gut area. Mine was more sore than other places. But hard to tell if you are having unusually bad pain or if it's normal levels. If it continues and worries you, that's a phone call to your doc. They'll tell you if they need to see you. ((hugs))

My pain was in the same spot, just behind and below my left ribs. I called it a burning, tearing pain. I had it through week 4. One thing that helped was a heating pad to the area, not a lot of help, but it did make a difference. Welcome to the other side!

This makes sense if thats the case its a deep very sore area, the other incisions are not painful at all not even sore. Will keep an eye on this and contact my Dr again if its persistent and not getting any better. ❤

We had surgery the same day! I'm doing well, I think. The last 3 or 4 days though I've had headaches. I'm getting my 64 oz of Water easily and at least 60g of Protein daily so not sure what that's about. Anything to worry about?

Hi All

My surgery was October 14th and I’m still feeling a lot of abdominal pain.

I’m using heat pads and painkillers. Hopefully it’s just a healing time thing and will get better. I think I am ok with food intake- I’m on very soft squishy foods and liquid.
Hopefully you’re all doing okay too. Xx

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
