Does anyone live close enough to drive to TJ for surgery? I'm in Phoenix and wondered if that was a do able option rather than flying to San Diego and not have to pay for my hubby to fly too.

  3. THIS IS JUST A WARNING. Over a year ago I had sleeve plication surgery with Dr Rod in Mexico. I had bleeding problems from the start. I puked blood for 12 hours. The staff at the hospital and the doctors were informed several times and their attatude changed dramatically from being nice to a not give a dam. They told me I was not pukeing blood many times as I showed them the blood in cups. I went home and from day one I felt like I had no restriction. They just kept fluffing me off when I contacted them. After the period of time to get on solid foods,, it was clear there was no restriction. I went to a specialist in canada and they did a barium set of exrays in canada …

  6. If you had surgery with Dr. Nick and/or at Forest Park Medical Center, I have a couple of questions: 1.) How long did you stay in the hospital? 2.) Did someone have to bring you your stuff after you went to a room? The paperwork I got said I wouldn't be assigned a room until after recovery and there was no place safe to store personal stuff until a room was assigned. 3.) Did you have an external drain? If so, when was it removed? 4.) What was given to you for pain when you went home? I cannot think of anything else, but if you have anything thoughts you think might be useful to me, I welcome those comments too. If all works out with work, I have a date. May 29…

I'm nine days post op and I got the ok to exercise but I went for a walk today and just didn't have the energy to stay out to long. I am no where close to getting in 60g of protein in, is it because I haven't done much and have to work my way up slowly? Not sure what to do but I'm sick of sitting around all weekend and doing nothing.

Hi all. I am a type 1.5 diabetic, which means adult onset type 1. I was diagnosed in1995 and have been on the pump since 2005. I am a brittle diabetic, highs and lows. Surgery date is August 20th. . My question is about basal settings. When should I start changing them. I do not have a pre op diet but need to concentrate on reducing carbs, protein first, small bites, well chewd, no drink with meals, etc. and afterwards, of course I will need little insulin, eating so little. But basals are continuous. I do not want to go back to shots. Maybe I should ask my endo for an insulin pen instead, at least for the first yew weeks. Hmmmm. Lots to think about.

Hi all - I had surgery June 13 and the weight flew off. It came off so fast I felt like a rockstar! However, at four weeks my stall began and I haven't lost much of anything since then. I'm back on regular foods and not doing a good job on my Protein drinks (loved them before and holy cow they taste awful now...including the kind that allegedly have no taste). What kinds of foods were you all eating to get you past this terrible hurdle? It's so depressing - I am so hoping for 100 pounds by 4 or 5 months, but at this rate, I definitely won't hit it. Help...

Hey I was wondering lately I have been hearing a lot about this isagenix program around my fb friend. I was wondering has any sleevers tried this?? I am just over 9 weeks out and have been on a stall just shy 7.5 weeks. It's so frustrating to me I mix my exersise up all the time, drink all my water and get in on average 55 g of protein a day. Just getting frustrated. All the info I have found about doing this after baratric surgery says it is good but they are mainly talking bypass or banding nothing on the sleeve. If anyone has tried this program please let me know what u thought of it. Thank.

  17. Next month will be my one year surgiversary. So I'm wondering what you guys have done or plan to do for yours. My current plan is to go to the boardwalk, ride all the rides I couldn't fit on before all while wearing my new bikini. Unless it's too cold or I can't afford to.

Blondeej gave me an idea when she started the new thread for those of us in a stall. How about one of us starts a new thread each month as a cental locale for us all to hang out and chat? We could title it like I did this one, June Sleever's - July. Next month will be June Sleever's - August and so on. That way, it will keep one thread from becoming too long. So, how is everyone doing and what's going on in your world? I am finally feeling "normal" with the exception that I can no longer stuff my face with a ton of food. I've had a lot of issues with pain but that has now resolved so I am looking forward to starting an exercise regime....at least a cardio one. I'…

  21. I'm almost three weeks out and I am still not hungry. At all. At first I was happy about that, but now I'm miserable. I hate having to force myself to eat and drink. If I wanted to I could probably go days without eating or drinking anything with no problem, but I know that's not good so obviously I force myself to stay hydrated and fed. It's just annoying and it's starting to piss me off. Anyone else going through this?

  25. omg! I was a small 22 large 20 when I went into the hospital almost two weeks ago and I just put on two different pairs of bottoms that were an 18! I haven't been this small since before having kids. It's so hard to believe that just 3 months ago I was a size 24. I do not see any difference in me other than I look like I have a chicken neck LOL but the clothes tell it all don't they! For anyone else who really hasn't lost much weight since surgery measure yourself! I have only lost three pounds since leaving the hospial but I am getting smaller for sure!

Hi there. I am 8 1/2 weeks post op. My weight loss has slowed, but that doesn't bother me as much as this stall that I have been in for a week. My weight has not moved. 201.4 for 7 days. I am bothered because I have not cheated once since I started this journey. I follow all the rules. Plus, I am only two pounds from my first big goal, which is to be under 200 lbs. I am so discouraged and don't know what to do to break this stall. Any suggestions????

The only concern I have is that things are going to well. I've been tolerating everything I have tried so far and it makes me worried that not enough stomach was taken or that I won't be successful at this. Don't get me wrong... 39. Ok, I am still on liquids for another week but I went to my fist dr appointment today. I saw the nutritionist and she explained how to start on pureed foods then soft foods. I am not sure how this is going to go. The thought of meat being in puree form makes me want to throw up and i'm supposed to eat protiens first then fruits and veggies then starches. How do I know when to switch? I know I am going to feel full fast so if I eat my protien that I can stand and I am full all the time is that ok? Any help would be appreciated I am nervous about all this and didn't want to be a pain in the nutritionists ass even though I know she wouldn't say anything.
