I'm 10 days post op, and I'm going back to work. Most of my job is desk work, but not all. I had a serious issue with band removal but no problems post op.

I had my surgery yesterday (July 11) so I'm finally on my way to the next stage in my life. I came home this afternoon and am feeling pretty good. I haven't had any problems worth noting, yet. It feels good to be on the "other side" now!

So I went to weigh in and my nurse was excited to tell me I am now "obese". I was like "uh...thanks". She goes "no, I mean, you're not 'morbidly obese' or even 'severly obese'. Now you are just obese. Next stop overweight"...hahahaha!

Hi =-) Just registered now for VST. I will get a call tomorrow to set up my appointment for my consultation. I saw my cousin at a wedding last month, she looked great and I told her so. She whispered in my ear, "I had the surgery, go for it". I respect her a lot. She has been a RN for a long time. She is older than me...she is 58, I am 54. She said do it, I feel great and it is the best thing. I want it. And I am scared. Oh, the what ifs... Will I miss food? Will I miss the social part of eating? I want the skinny person inside of me out. I am SICK of battling the battle of the fat. I have yet to know anyone that has lost weight on their own and kept it off.…

And I just sent them my final payment! Plane ticket is bought! I am ready to GO! My weight in January was 297... current weight 268 and I am 62 days away from my surgery. I will be on a two week liquid only pre-op diet starting on August 27. I am hoping to lose some more weight before my date. Can't wait to get this Crapband out of me! Cheers and Good luck to all that have gone before me... I look forwa…

Hello Ladies! I am a newbie and like many of you I have tried and failed at dieting for nearly 7 years~ I am a Military Wife stationed at JBLM, WA~ I was recently suggested by my PCM to have bariatric surgery~ After long nights of research I decided to pursue getting the "Sleeve" done. Today I went to the orientation seminar where they stated that this process takes from 5-7 months....WOWZER! My OCD personality went straight into panic mode...lol.... { don't judge}........ I am extremely active I am involved in a kickboxing academy 3-5x per week as well as roller skating however my weight is at a constant stand still!!!!!! What was the process like for you going thr…

  16. I'm going to get the samples and want to know what your favorite samples are. I just need flavors for the clear phase ( a week,) so I am assuming using milk or anything besides water no longer makes it a clear. So I would assume the latte one would taste bad with just water. Would 11 or 14 last me a week? Also how many ounces are in each sample, it doesn't say on the site. Thanks in advance.

So after 11 long days, I've finally broken my first post-op stall! I've been stuck at 283.3 lbs for 11 days. This was after 11 lbs lost pre-op (2 week liquid diet) and 24.5 lbs lost post-op (in about 4.5 weeks). I guess I was a bit later than the oft-mentioned "3rd week stall"! Today I am 282.2 lbs! Okay, not a huge drop, but after 11 days of the same (+/- 0.2 lbs), it's very encouraging! Now I know I have nothing to really complain about. Others on the board have suffered stalls of 6 weeks or more early on. Mine was only a week and a half. And I'm averaging 4.4 lbs/week loss (including pre-op diet), which is FANTASTIC! It's just really heartening to see th…

I am a labor and delivery nurse and I truly do LOVE my job. Nothing like being a part of the miracle of birth, it is such an privilage to be able to be there for the families! I have currently have the lapband unfilled inside of me. I had surgery to have to placed in Sept of 2011 so not quite a year. I had the surgery and was very hopefully it would be the tool I needed to get my weight off. It went okay for the first few months but after that nothing but problems with pain and not getting re…

  23. What is your ultimate weight loss goal? What is your frame size: small, medium or large? What was your starting weight? What is your current weight? How many months/weeks post op are you? What weights has your body stalled? Has your weight loss slowed? If so, at what month and how much? My weight loss goal is around 140 although I am not sure how realistic this is considering my large frame. I wear a size 11 shoe and my hands are so large I can actually palm a basketball. I'm like a puppy with large paws that never grew into the right size. Ha! Maybe that's why I was fat, I just never grew vertical enough? Anyway, my starting weight was 243.6 and my current we…

  25. I went to my 6 week check up today and asked my surgeon (who I greatly respect and admire) what would be a realistic goal for me. My highest weight was this April at 306, but for the last few years I've yoyo'd between 275-295. You can see all my numbers in my signature, and I am 5 ft. 6 in. He said he would call the surgery at success if I maintained at 210, and would be very happy if I maintained at 190. This really disappointed me. I do not want to weigh 2anything. My goal is 150-180 max. Am I setting an unrealistic goal. I'm 37 and have no problems that would restrict exercise. I am very determined and committed.

Hello fellow believing sleevers. I am just wondering if this forum is still active and if not let's get it going again. I am 8 days post op....had my surgery in Mexico, took a giant leap of faith by going there and let God guide me through the journey. I was scared to death, but I let God be my Pilot and he delivered me back home safe and sound. I couldn't have done this without Him. The decision to have surgery was one that required so much prayer and then to decide to do it in Mexico was something I really had to pray about. Today I am reading Romans 12:12 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" Hope everyone has a blessed day. Girlf…

I had a headache tonight when I came home from a date with my husband. I don't get headaches very often, but when I do, they're bad. Took some codeine. BIG mistake.. I didn't think my stomach was empty. We'd eaten out, and I took the pill with some milk. Apparently, my stomach was empty and this is not a good thing with codeine. I am currently sitting on the sofa feeling lightheaded, sweating, with a pain in my stomach that is as bad as anything I had when I had gallstones. OMG! On the plus side, my headache is gone.

My doctors office called and informed me that my insurance orginally ok'd the gastric bypass. The resubmitted me for the sleeve last week and as of today the insurance has no answer, they told the nurse that they have 30 days to reply. This is bad because I wont be able to get off work if they change it from the 16th of this month! I so pissed! Been on liquid diet for 10 days!

Yay! I got my surgery date today! I have to go in for my pre-op appointment next Monday and my surgery is scheduled for Thursday, July 19. I am so happy that they were able to schedule a date so soon. I want to be off of my modified liquids diet before I go back to school (work). I will be 4 weeks post-op by then, and 12 weeks post-op by my brother-in-law's wedding. I can't wait for my body on the outside to match my personality on the inside. I am so excited! I am motivated to get as much weight as I can off before the wedding. Wahoo!

Hi everyone! I am new to the forum and wanted to see if anyone has experience this. I had my surgery 8/8/2011. I have lost a total of 96 lbs. I am about 43 lbs till I reach my surgeons goal. I am at 224 as of today. I will personaly be content at 200 lbs but we shall see. I have not lost any weight this month and wanted to know if anyone has had a stall at this stage of the game. I am just a little stressed and worried. I have stepped up my exercise to 6 days a week to see what happens. Any suggestions? Thanks

  47. I take several things and I keep being told I can take things that are "no bigger than a pencil eraser" but someone will tell me more in the hospital. So no joke, is that turned sideways? Because this OMEPRAZOLE capsule is HUGE - the pill they prescribed to offset heartburn that I'm supposed to take the day after surgery- PPI I guess. If it's straight up and down it's not bigger than an eraser but with a tiny sip (I assume) how will I ensure it doesn't stick to the "whatever" going down. (Not to mention other meds. and timing them if it's hard to drink). I just don't want to be the person who vomits everything and can't get a pill down. You're not ready for applesauc…
