I have spent the last 20 years up and down with my weight. The largest weight I weighed was at 246 in the doctor's office at my inquiry about this surgery. In 2009 I had the lap band procedure and lost about 30 lbs. I never got much further than this and quickly gained it back when I could not find the sweet spot and everything would get stuck on my band. I realized that healthy food such as chicken, leafy vegetables, fruit with skin, eggs, etc. would get stuck on the band. Not being a seafood gal, I was unsure how to eat "healthy" with the band. Mostly processed foods is what went down and I gained my weight back and then some. I was 228 when I had my lap band. Through the years I have been able to lose weight, but always unable to keep it off. I have spent my whole life watching my brother, father and mother struggle with obesity. I turned 40 last September and decided that I did not want to spendthe rest of my life being unhealthy. I had my revision surgery on March 13, 2012 and so far so good. I look forward to seeing where this will take me.
