Was hoping for sooner but I got my date today!!! Super excited

12 hours post-op. My surgeon is Aceves, in Mexicali. So far, every expectation has been exceeded. Post surgery i've seen both of my doctors (Aceves and Campos) twice. EVerything went well, and continues to do so. So far, so good!

I have stalled and things are going down hill. I am stressed no job, no income and no aide. I am not eating correctly anymore because the children eat first. This is becoming a cosmic joke now. I was hoping that losing weight would finally give me my life back, boy I was wrong. I am not not ashame to tell all that I am failing in life and weight lost too.

I am super nervous and excited at the same time. I have officially scheduled my surgery for July 10th in Tijuana Mexico with Dr. Almanza.

Im 55yo and I'm battling a 5 week stall. It is so frustrating, especially since I have been following all the rules. Sleeved on 4/3 and have lost 38 lbs, any suggestions to break the stall?

Just scheduled my sleeve for 8/14 and I'm so excited that I can't sit still! I have been reading this board every day and I can't wait to be on the other side of the surgery. I have all my pre-op tests done and I just need to lose 2 more pounds which will be no problem. I am just so excited! Never thought I'd be excited about surgery! Lauren

Uggg I'm not hungry. Which is great but I really want something other than SOUP... I want to SINK my teeth into something. I'm post op day 9 and really if I never have another simple liquid soup again in my life YEP I think I will be OK..... any suggestions, I have to 21 days.

I had my sleeve done june 12th so far I've lost 27 pounds I just finished phase 1 liquid post diet now I'm on to phase 2 the mushy type food. feeling depressed because after 4 tablespoons I start getting full very quickly I feel like all the good stuff I like to eat I'll never be able to do again I think my doctor's made my sleeve too small I have some regrets honestly sometimes I think I should of gotten a lap ban. has this happened to anybody else I really hope its get better in time.sorry for complaining but it is a little bit frustrating.let me know if anybody has experience this feeling before.

I'm having gastric sleeve surgery at INT hospital with Dr. Ponce July 23. Anyone else going at that time?

I read this article, it specifies a RNY bypass but one has to wonder if it would be true for ANY WLS. I think the key here that it largely unspoken in the article is that the pancreas is damaged by obesity and having to overcompensate for our hideous diets that after WLS it hums along doing OK till age catches up with it again and the person again succumbs to diabetes. Hello! Has anybody gotten their gallbladder out after their sleeve? I've had rapid weight loss, nausea and vomiting so my dr wants to take the gallbladder out now. I'll be about 3 months post op when the squirrelly lil' bastard meets its Maker. How was the surgery? Did you feel better ? Will I be lucky enough to get a few more scars ? ( I love telling people that I got them in a bar fight while IN a Mexican prison)

I have yet to meet anyone from this area that has had a sleeve and most people have never even heard of it...

I know that it happens, it is just so darn frustrating! I was sleeved on the 12th. I lost 10 pounds the first week. I haven't lost anything since 6/18. I hate it! I was so excited for those first 10 pounds. I have read a lot of info on here and know that it happens. It really does make me fearful that the weight loss won't happen. Why does our bodies have to go thru an adjustment period? Anyone out there stop losing early on then it picks up and you end up doing awesome?

Today I decided to put together a bucket list of things related to my weight. I knew my weight effected me, but I never realized how gigantically :/ 1. Shop in normal stores and be able to wear whatever. No more over priced stores just because they are the only cute clothes in my sizes (ehemmmmTORRID). So, im writing this after having to swallow 8 pills. I had internal bleeding after my vsg surgery and they had to go back in to remove a softball sized clot...then I received 2 liters of blood. Once I started feeling better at home my back was hurting...it hurt to breathe in deeply. I mentioned this to my surgeon and he ordered a ct scan. The day after the scan I went in to discuss the findings and was kept in the hospital overnight given IV antibiotics for an abscess by my spleen. I refused a biopsy after they told me the risks so they gave me antibiotics to take home. Now I have to take 2 tabs of zofran (anti nausea) with the flagyl and cipro 2x a day and have to wrap t…

Hello to all. I'm a aug sleever too. I've dropped 101 lbs total. I weighed 305 and now 199 lbs I found out 2 days ago I'm 5 weeks pregnant.

Oh curse you Sun Chips for being so delicious and going down so smoothly. I was able to eat about 10 chips with no problem. The problem is, that's going to be a BIG problem because I'm addicted to those things. I guess it's a little better than potato chips, but I still shouldn't be eating them. Boy were they good, though.

I am so happy to find this group. On June 21 I had the 6 year band removed and was sleeved. My surgery was done by Dr Robert Sewell in Southlake, Texas and I can only say wonderful things about his staff and the hospital staff. I have read so many post of people with horror stories that I know I would have appreciated some guidance. I drove 3 hours for visits and procedure. It is Sunday morning and I am feeling very well. Hi...I recently got approved for my lapband to sleeve revision. I was having constant vomiting issues as well as poor weight loss with the band. Unfortunately because of someone being out on maternity leave at work I have to wait until Oct-Nov to get my surgery. My doctor took out about 3 cc's from the band to stop the vomiting. Since then I've gained at least 8lbs so I am trying to work out more to keep from gaining any more before the surgery. It is hard because now I have no restriction and hungry more. I was wondering about the scar tissue. The doctor mentioned that the surgery carried more risks because of the scar tissue that they might have to work around. …

I am a Fresnonian but I did not have my surgery at Kaiser. My sister had bypass with Kaiser three years ago. I went through Advanced Bariatric Centers with Dr. Felix. My surgery was at Clovis Community. Would love to share experiences.

Can't sleep..... I have to be at Kaiser Richmond CA at 10:30 in the morning! My actual surgery is at 12:30. I don't really have any support...my mom is taking me and is not very happy with my choice to have my sleeve. " you are losing the weight, why get the surgery!" I am getting my sleeve for my own reasons. I am a single mom. I have 2 children. I am going to turn 44 on June 21st...I will be in the hospital!!! I am not getting any younger. For those Band to VSG patients out there what did your surgeon's say about the increased risk of a leak due to scar tissue? Did they recommend RNY over VSG? I met with the surgeon at MUSC yesterday that removed my band and he recommended that I have the RNY over the VSG because of the thickness of scar tissue in the area he would need to cut. With the RNY he can cut around the scar tissue but with the VSG he has to cut right through it posing a higher risk of a leak. He has done 3,500+ WLS's so I trust that he has the expertise. But I think he also doesn't want to see me gain any more weight while waiting around for Tricare to start covering the procedure. Right now …

I had my sleeve on April 16th. I have been on Prednisone since April '11 for a kidney problem. I have noticed that even though us sleevers have had our hunger hormone removed that I still get hungry, and i don't mean in my head hungry, I mean my sleeve growls. I eat every couple of hours. I am still losing weight but I am worried that when I go off the prednisone that the hunger thing will stick. Any advice or anyone else have this problem. When I said something to my surgeon about still being hungry, he just said he finds that hard to believe.

I everyone, I am now five weeks post op. I feel great. I am from San Francisco. Today I am going to take all the junk off my treadmill and use it. I have been taking walks but not they are not long enough. I just wanted to introduce myself, and I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you. Hello. I had my surgery on 6/19. Stayed in the hospital for 3 days. I developed a small leak, and was not able to drink much Water. Things got better the next day and Dr. Alvarez let me come home.Came home yesterday, I feel so much better being home. Got a 8oz of an 11oz Protein Shake and 36 oz of water down today. Gotta do better on the water tomorrow. I am off the liquid vicodin, it was giving me severe headaches, now I'm taking childrens chewable tylenol. Feeling bloated and sore, but not too bad. Taday was better than yesterday and I believe tomorrow will be better as well. One day at a time and just sip, sip, sip. How are you doing?

My 17 year old daughter and I had a blast yesterday!! We went to Goodwill and spent almost $100. It felt so good to pick something out and buy it, bring it home and it looked fabulous on Just fitting was how I was getting by before!! I'm now in a size 10 in just 2 months post op. I was in a really tight 16 in April. I was sleeved on April 24, lost 45 pounds so far! Personal best will be another 35-40 pounds. That will put be in a normal BMI situation. It sucks that they do not figure for dense heavy bones when doing that "normal BMI" chart!! Some of us look small, but still weigh about 20 pounds more than folks guess we are!! We all have been there. You hit a stall and it lasts so long that you start to believe that your weight loss is done. I know all about stalls...I know everyone gets them, but regardless I still get those little demons creeping up in my mind saying...you arent going to lose anymore weight, you are a failure. This last stall was a duzzy. I had been the same weight plus or minus 2 pounds for almost 3 months. I hate the heat!!!! 95 degree does nothing for me, but make me angry, lol. Anywho I am naturally warm blooded, and so is my son. I hear that some WLSers are cooler because of a hormone related thing as well as less body fat. For those that are cooler, tell me your preop weight, current weight, and if you were naturally warmer than others. Another question do smaller people tolerate weather like this because of their lower fat composition or is it an individual thing for them? Even if I were at my goal weight of 125, I can't see me changing how I feel about the weather, but who knows since I might be lighter and more ability to be "nekkid" outside, lol.

So LB has a sale and I need a bra, but don't want to buy four of the same size. The sale is buy two get two free. They don't offer much choices I like in my size so I'm limited to two styles. My question is should I buy two smaller ones or all the same size? My surgery is next month and I know my boobs will be smaller within two months.

Am only 5 weeks out of being sleeved and yesterday was complete setback for me. I ate string cheese, Nutella , too much deli chicken and goldfish crackers. . This is the first time I have had a "crash" since being sleeved. The only decent thing I did was exercise. I even drank water with my food. I kept grazing all day. I am so ashamed. Just read a study that shows decreases in fat, lean body mass and bone mass with sleeve gastrectomy. With Ghrelin reduced ~80% with VSG. With increases o Ghrelin via injections it resolved weight loss and lean mass loss but not bone loss and they have found no treatment for the bone loss. I wonder if since ghrelin reduces HGH if HGH injections would help with the loss of lean body mass and bone mass without the fat gain. Anyone 6+ months out been having bone scans? You should likely get a base line to check every year or 2. But I would like to hear from those that have checked into it.
