1. I had to buy new shirts for work already. I went to a consignment shop for cheaper ones as this will not be the last time. Amazingly, I am smaller around sooner after the sleeve than when I worked out and dieted before. My clothig didn't change for about 25-30 more pounds. 2. I fit into a McDonald's booth! Now before anyone judges me on being in a McD's, I ate a grilled chicken club with NO BUN and extra bacon (this is 50g of protein). I needed the protein intake and neither of us wanted to cook. I also spread about a teaspoon of habanero sauce instead of mayo. 3. I did a WHOLE Insanity cardio workout. Of course I modified some things because I am too big…

I'm a newbie, hoping to have a December surgery date. I have 3 kids and I just wanted to hear from some moms with young kids on life after being banded. In relation to...not carrying my 9 month old (or 4 year old) after surgery, also food choices for the house (kids love certain foods that are off limits for me)...I'm hoping life after the band will help decrease the cravings for certain 'unhealthy' foods. Also, any before and after success pictures would be great!! I've found focusing on the 'healthier me ' and what that will not only look like but also what it will feel like is getting me mentally ready. I had been quite indecisive as to which wls was right for me.…

After taking a pretty big knock at the weekend, it has taken me until now to realise that, for the first time in my adult life, I didn't reach for food to feel better. Wow.......

I had a lap band fill on mon. 9/30. was on liquid for 2 days and soft for 2 days. the first day of soft i had a low blood sugar reaction. a protein drink with milk stablized me but am scared it's going to repeat itself tonight when i take my insulin again. i need the insulin because my liver produces glucagon at night and my bs is high in morning. the question is, does anyone have a meal plan for evening while on soft diet to prevent another low bs. is low bs going to become a norm now? i am down from 200 units lantus a day to 30 u at night.

Hi all, I'm occasionally experiencing excruciating left side, right below my rib, pain. This is so bad, I begin to sweat, feel disoriented, and have shortness of breath. I'm shaky and feel drained for hours afterward. Anyone ever experience anything similar? This has happened 3 times in the last month, and I'm curious.

Well I never thought I would be doing that again. Rode all the rides I could! Walked all around that place for hours. Before I couldn't do that. Since loosing weight my knee doesn't bother that much started @ 276 now 183 size 12 from size18,20!! I love my sleeve

so went in for my 21 day post op check up and everything well lost 28lbs which seems great to me.Dr cleared me for purees now pretty weird actually using a spoon but this is a rid. So here where my rant begins ive seen a few people confused, worried, frusterated, in other words pissed because they hit a stall something my dr yesterday warned me that i will hit and basically id just like to say to everyone who is at a stall and feeling frusterated think about it this way You will eventually keep losing weight dont get anxious itll happen plus just compare the time youve been overweight to the time youve been sleeved all im saying if youve been overweight 10years,5yrs or what…

I got home from work yesterday absolutely exhausted, fell into bed for a nap and clearly there was something poking me in the belly/chest. i roll over to remove whatever it is and there is nothing there. WTF? clearly something is poking me there! finally figure out it is my rib cage protruding out. how do i fix that? does this go away? fortunately it only happens on the right side as it sticks out slightly more than the left. I suppose i am happy about it. going along with this, sleeping on my side has become increasingly difficult because my legs have become so bony that they don't easily lie on each other without a presure point. I will adjust, but i did not expect thi…

I have an old very nice and expensive suit. The paints are 52 inch waste and coat is 50 inch. I would like to have the suit altered to my new weight and size if at all possible, to be honest the suit have sentimental value to me. My wife says, I should ditch the old suit and get a new one. What would you do? What do you think I should do?

Had follow up yesterday. Have lost 47% of excess body weight. Not too bad but not where I wanted to be at this point. It will come but its slowing way down. Been fighting some pretty heavy depression last couple of weeks. Thyroid levels are way off and hormones are crazy. Been a tough road here lately.

I was sleeved 8 weeks ago and I'm down 50 lbs. I've been in a stall for almost two weeks now however (I actually hit 50 lbs lost at 6 weeks). Love my sleeve! Here is my pic the day before surgery and my after is from a couple of days ago when we were on the Virgin Islands. I haven't been exercising at all so I need to get on that, however.

So, I just got back from a week-long cruise to Alaska. As you may know, food is a huge part of cruising, so I wanted to report back my experience having been sleeved over 2 years ago and being confronted with a floating, 24 hour buffet. I have to admit, the week prior, I was mourning the food I know I wouldn't be able to gorge on. Perhaps even a mild panic was stirring in my brain. Needless to say, I still have food issues. So, moments after boarding and before the ship has left dock, the rest of the people in my party are understandably hungry as it has been about 6 hours since Breakfast, so, we head to the buffet. As you can imagine, the food is plentiful. I loo…

The pic on the left was taken 9/22/12. I was at my highest weight. Two months later, I went to my weight loss seminar to start my journey. The pic on the right was taken 9/28/13. I had surgery almost 5 months ago, on 5/2/13. From my highest weight, I've lost 116 lbs. I feel like a new, different, better, happier version of myself. I never aspired to be a size 2. Or hell, a size 12. My goal for this surgery has never been a certain weight or a certain size. I just wanted to have more confidence. To see myself the way I wanted to see myself. To feel cute. To feel beautiful again (because I've always known I'm beautiful! At any size!) So although I'm still over…

I've never felt better. I no longer snore. I eat well (but still getting used to what sits well and what doesn't) I am so much more active and am enjoying exercising, I'm loving shopping for new clothes in 'normal' stores. And my DH keeps commenting on how skinny I've become. I wanted to share a photo with you .

Hey everyone! Sorry my post is a little late, it's been a busy month. Even though I'm not losing any more, I continue to post updates because I know when I was starting out, that's what go me through rough Patches and I loved seeing before and afters. I just got back from Vegas on the 29th and still picking up all my clothes that I got while shopping, lol. I have to say it was the best Vegas trip ever. My mom and I always go and use to just stick to shoes and purses but it was so nice this year to go and be able to clothes shop as well. Wow, I feel like a normal human being for the first time in my life. As for an update on my weight loss itself, I am now hanging in a r…

As I was sitting in my chair at work today, I noticed something felt weird about my tummy. It just didn't feel right when I sat. Then I realized it's because my tummy now curves INWARD when I sit, and no longer pooches over my thighs in a lovely half moon. haha

Hey Everyone!! I haven't posted in awhile and I thought I would drop in and post something to let people know how everything is going!! Its been a long 7 months since my surgery and I can sit here and say its went by fast and feels like I have been banded for much longer than that. It has been nothing but positive results since I started my journey back in May and I'm continuing to be successful each day, week and month at a time. I'm currently sitting at 81.5 pounds lost since my highest recorded weight of 344 pounds in March of 2013 and about 65 pounds of it has been since surgery!! Its beyond words of all the accomplishments and goals I have met in the past 7 mo…

That moment you look at a cute pair of jeans, pick up a size you never thought you'd fit in to again and think... "There is NO way these are going to fit!!"......and then they do!!! :) On my surgery day (February 1st), I was comfortably wearing size 26W jeans. Not quite 8 months out, and I just bought a size 14 from American Eagle! I have to admit, while I love seeing the number on the scale drop, I love all the NSV's that come with this journey so much more!

I everyone. I am beyond happy that I found this site. Like many of you, I have tried to lose weight for the past 7 years(I'm 25) and I just can't seem to lose it. I lose the weight and gain it right back.. My sister got sleeved on January and OMG she went from a size 18 to a small .. Amazing I know.. So at first, after seeing her have some complications, I said I can't do this, forget it... But just 3 days ago, I was trying to wear something for work and it wouldn't for properly and after trying few other outfits, I said that's it, I will have the surgery regardless what ends up being. Not for nothing, but I have an amazing life, I have a awesome job, I go to school which…

I had surgery January 17Th 2013, and to date have lost 91 pounds and still going. There was a plateau for about 6 week because I was sick and getting IV steroids but back on track now and moving right along. over half way to goal. I am so glad I made the choice to have lap band surgery, it's been a life changer.

Ok, I went to the mall today just for the heck of it and went to a sale rack. I asked the salesperson if they had dresses in a size 20 or 22. The sales lady tells me that that there are no plus size dresses in the store. She tells me that dresses only go up to size 18. I said we'll why do they sell plus size tops and pants up to size 6X but no dresses, she didn't know why. Anyway, I go over to a sale rack of size 18 slacks. These slacks were originally $52.00 marked down to $10.98 with 40% off the sale price. Well, even though I hate trying clothes on in the store, I decided at that great price I had to try them on. Well guess what? These front zip, front hook (no elastic…

I went shopping today for work clothes long overdue and I couldn't believe it I'm a size 12! Yay!! I haven't been this small in over 10 years! 30 pounds left to goal weight!

I haven't posted in a long time. I can understand why there aren't many long time bandsters on this site. You just learn to live with the with band and almost forget it is there! I was banded on November 12, 2012. In that time, I surprisingly haven't needed a fill. I went from 241.3 lbs and a size 18 to 157 lbs and a size 10, almost an 8. I haven't been smaller than a large top in the last ten years and now I am wearing a medium or a small. I have three more pounds to make it to my goal...and my doctor's goal! No real complications, just some minor reflux. Life is great!! I am happy if I don't loose another pound!! Thanks for listening to me brag!! Sent from my i…

Right now I'm having great results on the scale - and know that it comes and goes. Just try to remember these good days on the non-loss or gain days. Started at 475 on May 24. Weighed in at 387 today. 88 pounds in 18 weeks! As good as that feels, I had an ever better feeling experience this week. I flew out to San Diego this week and didn't have to use a seat belt extender (so used to it I own my own). Granted it was a first-class seat and maybe the belts are a bit bigger, but none the less it clicked! Was pretty damn excited! This last fill took me to 9.3 in a 14 cc band, but it's the first fill I really can feel. I'm still eating too fast and have gotten myself in…

I'm feeling excited this morning....got on the scale and I'm half way to goal ! I have lost 63 pounds since starting my pre-op diet on April 3. My surgery was April 17. Hoping to reach my goal by the end of next summer. I already feel so much better and lighter and have started working out again...Love being able to cross my legs again and what a thrill to be able to shop in the regular part of the store instead of the plus size section. So glad I got my band !

Hey everyone. I know I should not feel like a failure at all, but I am now down 62 pounds and I am at the weight I used to be last time I was on a serious diet. I feel like I will only start accomplishing something when I lose more weight from here. Has anyone else had this experience/feeling? I have about 95 pounds give or take until I reach my goal which seems like its going to take forever, but I am doing my best working out with a trainer and going to the gym on my own. I can see the weight loss in the miror, but I dont think I can enjoy it as much as I should because I have been this size many times before in the past. (I know this time it will be different …
