In a few hours I will be 3 years post op! WHOO HOO!!!!!!! I am still lovin my sleevie! It has been an amazing journey. It was really tough at first but here I am 3 years out and SOOOO HAPPY. Here are a few pics from a few days ago in a Macy's changing room where I was looking for a dress to wear for a wedding in December (size 6 dress and NO SPANX, however I will be wearing them at the wedding LOL) to pics from a few weeks ago (wearing all white jrs. dress, say what??? ...and a few before pics for those who don't know me. Today is such a happy day for me! Finally, I'm down into the 100s, and I don't ever want to go back to the 200s. My history is that of a "yo-yo" dieter. The last time my weight dropped below 200 was in 2008, and it only lasted a couple of months. (phentermine prescription weight loss program). I've been very eager to get here and frustrated because most of August for me was a "stall" period. My weight see-sawed around 204-202-204-203-202. The truth be told, a few weeks ago, I was probably taking in too many carbs and snacking a bit too much, but I also think right around the low 200s is kind of a "set point" for me. It just seems to be a threshold that's been hard to cro…

I had surgery on April 10 with Dr Aceves in Mexicali. This is the best thing I have ever done in my life and wish I had done this a long time ago. I started at 189 day of surgery and now weigh 138. My goal weight is to be 120 by the end of the year. I really don't see that happening. My height is 5'1 so on the short side. I am wearing size small tops and size 4-6 in pants. Have been fat my whole life and the first time I can remember being this size. I have 3 sisters and all of them are skinny but I ended up getting the fat genes. Good luck to everyone.

Had my 2-week post-op appointment today, and I'm feeling great! Still sore at my two major incision sites (man, I miss sleeping on my stomach!) but besides that, I'm taking multiple-mile walks a day and following the diet prescribed by my surgeon. He was SUPER impressed with the fact that I've lost 5% of my BMI since the start of this process, woo hoo! I took a new photo of me (and my happy, I've-lost-34-lbs-since-July-26 smile) and loved how much my face has changed since the start of my pre-op diet. Just wanted to share this small victory, and encourage everyone to follow their surgeon's plan, get plenty of exercise, and remember to stop and enjoy the little victori…

Hey everybody! I'm so happy to share with you all that I am officially 11weeks post-op today, and at today's weekly weigh in, I weighed 188!!! That's 60 lbs down from my highest weight!!!! My height is 5' 6.5"; I started this process at 248, lost 20 pre-op, and 40 post-op. Thus far I have had no problems with any type of food. I eat healthy 95% of the time; I stay away from my trigger foods because I WILL eat them if they are near and accessible; I stay away from bad carbs except on my cheat days (Sunday's), and when I say cheat it is very minimal and only at 1 meal--not every meal. I also exercise with a minimum of 4 days of cardio (1/2 hour to an hour depending on my s…

I have lost 115 pounds since I began this journey!! I'm incredibly happy! I exercise and mostly eat right. I slip now and then, but I get up and keep going! Here's my blog describing this journey: http://hopeysnewbeginning.blogspot.com

Had my surgery on march 28th. My hw on march 14th was 340lbs as of this past week I weigh 255lbs. That's 85lbs in 5 months!! Beyond happy just got to keep going!!!

I am 9 months out and find that I am eating more. How many calories should I be eating at this point? I still have 20 lbs to lose. How many calories do you eat and when was your surgery

I had my surgery one month ago yesterday. 5 weeks ago, I began my one week liquid diet at 338 lbs, my highest weight. I weighed 330 the day I got home from the hospital. Today, the scale read 296. That's 42 lbs total in 5 weeks. It definitely comes off in waves. I had a week and a half stall at two weeks where I was at 306 forever. Then I dropped to 300 in a couple of days and stayed there for almost a week. Finally broke through that yesterday. It seems like I'll go about a week and then suddenly the scale will move dramatically. I know some people will say that you shouldn't weigh yourself every day, but it kind of becomes an addiction.

Today I've reached 7 months post op. I'm a success from my surgeons stand point but I have about 30-60lbs until my final goal. Pre-op 315, SW 294, today 208.3

Getting real tired of scales not moving. Beginning to think I am done losing. Guess 66 pounds is it for me. Getting depressed. Will lose a couple of pounds and then gain them back. I retain a lot of fluid. Been having bleeding issues since preop non stop bleeding. Hysterectomy coming my way beginning of the year. And my thyroid is a huge issue. Changed meds 3 times now since surgery. I am very greatful for what I have lost dont get me wrong. But I feel as if I'm a failure at this. Going from a size 26 to a 16 is wonderful. But I still have 30 to 40 more pounds to lose to be where I want to be at. Afraid I will not make it

I take my measurements once a month and was excited to note that I've lost 60 inches in 4 months (I take neck, biceps, chest, waist, hips, thighs and calves). I have another 10 days until my 4-mo anniversary from surgery and I've lost 70 pounds so far (hopefully another 4 pounds down by then). Have been a "consistent" loser so far, but not breaking any records...no real stalls... Took some pants in to be altered yesterday, and was really something to see how much she pinned on the sides and the seat/crotch (btw, that is just a word that sounds terrible). The boobs are just now starting to deflate, still an F cup and look good in a bra, but holy geez, nekkid is an en…

I cannot believe reality. five months ago i was near my highest ever 285, today i broke through to 199!! I have not been under 200 since my 13th birthday. I am 57 years old, that is a hell of a long time. I dont feel that light, i dont see myself that light and it all feels delusional. I have been consumed by food and weight and diets for nearly fifty years and now several miracles have happened, i am not hungry, i dont think about food, I actually lose weight when i dont eat. The very hard work is not even a problem. I just finished a five hour flight in the middle seat and i was more comfortable than i have ever been on an airplane. NSV's all over the place. thanks…

I am that height. I've been thinking (and I'm pre-op) that after surgery I want to weigh 143 pounds. Sounds skinny? Well, it is, but it's also 20 pounds more than Kate Middleton weighs. My point: I was reading along in the forums tonight and ran into a woman who is 5'7" and is declaring victory at 171 pounds. And she looks terrific!! Doc hasn't given me a goal weight, but I don't want to start off this process living in Dreamland and end up forever a failure. Talk me down from this ledge, please. If you're this height, what's a good weight for you?

In fall of 2011 I was kicked off a roller coaster because the safety bar would not secure because I was too fat. It was the most humiliating thing ever! My son was so upset that we couldn't ride and I felt like the worlds worst mom. Well today we went back and I rode that coaster with my kids!!! Happiest day ever! In the cart behind my minis! This is living!

Well it seemed like it took forever but tomorrow I start back on regular food. I finally get to eat a 1/2 cup of food. I don't know why that measly 1/4 cup of food made me always go "is that all?" I just wanted to thank all of my sleevers on this site for giving me inspiration to get to this stage. Thank you all so much. Mark Thomas, Edmond Oklahoma

I was so happy with my small victory today. I had a doctor visit, which, as always, began with a blood pressure check. In the past, the nurse has always had to use the large cuff. Today she didn't! The standard cuff fit and worked! Happy dancing in Texas.

Yesterday I met up with my old coworkers. They hadn't seen me in over a year & since the weight loss. OMG, the compliments were amazing. The best was the lady that made the Macaulay Culkin face from Home Alone. Felt so good.

So Friday night I had two of my granddaughters overnight. One is 13 and the other is 9. Well I took them out to dinner, as grandma's house does not have much food! While sitting waiting for them to eat, I did not eat there, but my 9 year old granddaughter Jessica piped up and said "Grandma your butt's getting smaller!" After I got through laughing I thought well that's cool because kids speak such truth. My guy friend had told me I was losing my fine white a@@! But when my granddaughter commented I knew it must be!

I am very excited that I have only 50 more pounds to lose before I reach the goal weight that my doctor set. I am very happy with myself and pleased that I see the results I am working very hard at. I can not "weight" until I am there and have accomplished that 110 pound+ weight loss for the new me.

... since I've seen 2## on the scale. How many years? 4lbs to go! I'm excited! weighed in today at 304. 5 months since I started with the Nut, banded 3 weeks, first fill 1 week ago. Lost 8 lbs this week since the fill. Had to move up a notch on my belt the other day cause my pants were slipping. My walks are getting easier. Some of my tighter shirts aren't as tight. It's a great feeling.

Good Morning all! Yesterday when I got out of church I decided to take a picture with my husband since we both looked so nice. After looking at the picture some more, I realized that I had a picture in that same dress from before I had the surgery. I tracked down the picture and made a side by side comparison. I was already happy with how I look but seeing the before and after got me even more excited! I'm so grateful for this surgery and what it is doing to my life! I am so much more confident now and I'm still in the beginning stages of my journey. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the new me!

I was sleeved on april, 3rd. My doc didn't put me on preop diet. Post op, I had a leak complication and had to stay in hospital for 5 weeks. No loss during that period. I started dropping after May 15th approx. So it's been like 4 month I'm on track: I lost 72 pounds so far. I was a low bmi (35). No need to say how happy I am. Height 5'6 SW 231 lbs Today 159 lbs 26 lbs to goal Good luck to all of us.

Went to my nine month follow up today, surgery was December 10, 2012 with a presurgery weight of 379, weight today is 226.5. In waist size went from a tight 54 waist to a 36 waist. Shirt size from 4XL to Large and sometimes even a medium. Anyhow now for what everyone always wants to see the picture.

I am 4 weeks post op today and have lost a total of 29 pounds. I am feeling so good, I have started on normal food today, a bit scary at first but it has gone so well. Today I had weetabix for breakfast, 2 crackers and soft cheese for lunch with 2 plums and then fish fingers, potato wedges and baked beans for tea followed by some peach slices. I can definitely feel the difference between eating mushy and firm food on my band, I felt fuller quicker. Just hope it continues so positively.

A local magazine did an article on my weight loss journey and I thought maybe it would encourage those of you thinking about a VSG. It is the best decision I ever made! Transformaion_AmyDownsPagelayout.pdf

I really thought my first NSV would be finally buttoning up my favorite pair of jeans that I haven't been able to wear in over a year. I keep trying, but ... no luck yet! But I did however realize today that since being banded two months ago, I have not once gone to the dollar store to buy candy!! I used to go to the dollar store on a weekly basis (at the very least) and buy about $5 worth of candy. And if you've ever been to the dollar store, you'll know that is a lot of candy. I would start eating it in the car on the way home, and I'd keep eating it until it was gone. Doing some simple math ... five boxes of candy, 7 servings or so per box, that makes, uh, 35 s…

Today is my 36th birthday and for the first time in 30 years I am not overweight. I started my WLS journey 1-1-12 (surgery 2-14-12) and since then I have lost an entire person. I started at 335# and a size 28. Today I am 160# and a size 8. I am 20# below my surgical goal. It is a very shocking transformation and I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around it. I am less than half the weight I started out at and wear about 1/4 the size clothes. Mindboggling. I don't even recognize myself, let alone people that haven't seen me in awhile. I don't plan to try to lose any more because I am getting way too bony. I am in the process of trying to have plastic surgery though. …

Well I have been banded since March 2013. So far lost 35lbs Downfall Recently was diagnosed with Bell's palsy! And on steroids I have been trying my best to limit my meals and try to do more workouts just so I don't gain my weight back. Hopefully this shall pass as well

At least for now. We are on a trial separation. I don't know if it has anything to do with my weight loss, but his anger directed towards me has been out of control. His words have been disrespectful. I think the difference is I have more confidence so I will not tolerate it. My friends think he's feeling threatened by my weight loss and acts on that. We have a son together so we might reconcile but only after a period of time and only if he does work to show he's changed. I am very torn up about this but just hoping it gets easier each day.

So I had an interesting conversation with a young gal at a local VSG support group. She's 4 months sleeved has lost 50 pounds and is on top of the world. She loves the male attention she's getting and feels ilke the guys that are now interested in her would have been 'out of her league' in the past. Before she barely dated and felt like she was grateful for any attention she got so kinda settled and dated whoever. As someone who hasn't dated much and has been overweight all my life, i'm curious about dating after surgery. For single folks, how did your dating life change? For married folks, any changes/tensions.

I started my sleeve journey on May 8th, that was the day my band to sleeve revision was done. Today I put on a pair of size 12 jeans from the Disney Store, from years ago. My husband and daughter bought them for me for Christmas, I was doing the yo-yo dieting back then, and they bought the largest size available to encourage me to keep up the diet exercise I was doing. Well today I put them on and they FIT. And if I do say do they looked amazing!!!
