I'm 45lbs down and feel so much better! I started this process at 242 lbs. I lost 20 lbs during my preop diet and am down 25 lbs post op. I had a 3 to 4 week stall at 3 weeks which was so frustrating but eventually the weight started coming off again. I'm 5'8 and have finally made it to onderland!! Current weight 197. My NUT set my goal as 153 in 10 months. I don't think I've weighed that since elementary school! Can't wait to see what I'll look like! I'm sure enjoying the journey! I don't post often but often read others posts which have been so helpful! Thanks for the support!!

I work in a 10 story building with several different businesses on each floor. Today as I boarded the elevator to go up to the 9th floor a lady who I have never met (who works on the 2nd floor) said, "You have lost a lot of weight! Keep up the good work!" My coworker gave me a high five and I did a little victory dance the rest of the elevator ride. Great motivation going into the 10th month of this journey.

As I've been losing the wright since my June surgery, I haven't been purchasing smaller clothes. I've just been tightening my belt and tucking my shirts in a little further. This morning when I weighed in I was down a total of 100.1 pounds! Took the day off and HAD to buy new pants as my old ones were more like clown pants. On my June 11 surgery day my pants were size 60 waist ( can't believe I just posted that in public!). Today I bought all new pants size 50 waist! They feel so much better than my clown pants. Even better I realized I'm finally in the green zone! It's a happy day!

I'm three months post-op today and am feeling good. Especially after some scale and non-scale victories. Wanted to share! I'm down 65lbs total. Yes! I'm more active than I think I've ever been (even practicing for roller derby) Yes! Just went shopping for clothes and went from a men's XXL shirt to a men's XL and from a 46" waist to a 40"! I was able to buy multiple pairs of pants in a regular (not big and tall) store. It feels surreal to finally have some notable progress. I also feel like I'll wake up tomorrow , try to pull up my new pants, and find that they won't go past my knees! Sent from my iPhone using VST

  13. II am trying to gain some realistic stats for the weight loss. I would really like your help. Please provide: 1. Height 2. Starting highest weight 3. Surgery weight 4. Goal weight and/or current weight 5. Length of time to reach goal weight (edit: or length I time to reach current weight) 6. Age I know we should not compare ourselves to others, however I am interested in the standard deviation and mean of weight loss in comparison to height. There are so many that feel like slow losers, and I am wanting to really look into the numbers. Is it really a slow loss, or are you right on track based on weight loss percentages.

Today marks my 9 month into my new life. When I first started my journey, I went into this alone. I did my research online, went to support groups, watched videos (mostly on YouTube), spoke to Doctors and I came online and spoke to people who have had surgery or was thinking about surgery to see what their thoughts on surgery were. Prior to me having surgery, I was deep in depression. I was in a relationship with a man who brought me burgers instead of flowers., I survived a brain aneurysm, and I was an emotional eater. My food addiction was so bad that I would literally take a cab to Popeyes chicken, then another cab to White Castle then go home and binge in silenc…

I am trying to drop as much as I can before next week, because I'll be having a pretty major shoulder surgery on the 17th. I won't be able to do the gym (even cardio) for at least two weeks. Once I have the surgery I will be out of work for a minimum of 5 months.

Hello, I sat at the hospital yesterday while my dear friend had her VSG surgery with the same doctor I used. As the time passed, I thought about where I was two years ago and my journey since then. While it hasn't been all butterflies and rainbows, I wouldn't do anything differently. I achieved my goal weight and found the person I had buried away long ago. I've been blessed with many supportive friends and family members and adapted to those who were not so supportive. These forums helped me soooo much! My diet is fairly normal now. I eat mostly what I want (within reason), just a lot less. I exercise 6 or 7 days a week. While I appreciate the results of exercise, I …

I think the happiest birthday gift I got came from my scale yesterday. When I read 169.2 I was in awe and had to step back on to make sure it wasn't playing one of it's cruel jokes on me again. It wasn't! This morning I weighed in at 169.0 and I'm tickled pink! Miss Pearlie is doing her job and she continues to make me happy! I've only hit short plateaus during this journey - a week or less at a time. My secret? Increase your Protein by 20 - 25g over what you normally consume, in 3 days the scale is moving again. Have a great week everyone!

I am getting more people telling that i have to stop losing weight. I try to take it in stride and not get upset but it is rather presumptive for them to tell me about my health. I did not have a good answer until today, for those that ask how long will i keep losing weight. I will continue to lose weight until it stops coming off or when my body 'tells' me that something is wrong. if that is much lower than the charts say, so be it, if it is higher than i expect then so be it.

I was banded on September 27th and am down 17 pounds! So excited. I started mushies 5 days ago and was concerned the weight loss would stop, but so far it's still coming off. My main focus is letting my tummy and insides heal from surgery but the weight loss is a great motivator! I have never once felt like I made a mistake or like I was being cheated. I wanted this, I worked hard to get approval and I plan to use this tool to help me be the healthier, fittest Carrie I can be! 9 more lbs and I will be smaller then I have been in 12 years!

I had my first really awesome NSV today. I had ordered some new school clothes for fall (I'm a teacher) when the catalog was having a great sale, and ordered all my tops in a 3X (my usual size). They arrived today and were huge...not just a little too roomy, but HUGE. I don't think I've ever been so happy to pay return shipping costs in my life. Can't wait until I can shop in cheaper regular stores and not be stuck with ordering online.

The trick for motivation is....keep telling yourself "I can do this today, no reason I cannot... I've done it yesterday, I can do it today"...and after a few times of that, you start telling yourself "I can do this, I've done it dozen's of times" Then 100's of times, etc, etc, then "Everyday" and before you know it....... It's 5 am right now, having my coffee...will head to the gym at 5:30 to run my 5 miles....it's easy...I've done it before, I've done it dozen's of times, I now do it everyday!!! NO REASON I CAN"T DO IT TODAY!!!!! No reason I can't do it tomorrow!!! Take that, PLUS how good, satisfying, and rewarding it starts to feel, and eventually you will fe…

Just wanted to share an awesome NSV I experienced last Friday (9/27) at Disneyland. To start, the basics: At my heaviest I was over 300 lbs. I was 302 lbs as of July 26th of this year, lost about 20 lbs on the pre-op diet, and was sleeved on 8/19. My current weight is 249. I decided to attend Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland on opening night, September 27th. It's a fun family event where there is special entertainment, fireworks, trick-or-treating for kids, etc. Also, it's the only time of the year that adult guests are permitted to enter the park in costume! The thought of being in costume made me pretty apprehensive, because I hadn't dressed up for Halloween…

I've gained and lost the same 3 lbs and today I am 204.8 (AGAIN!!) but I took a few face pics yesterday and compared them and I think there's a pretty decent improvement. I was on the scale for my weekly weigh in and my Granddaughter decided she wanted to weigh in as well. She was getting ready for school and for some reason wanted to see what she weighed. This is where the reality smack happened. (To date I have lost 42 pounds from my highest weight. I was banded August 21st, and just had my first fill this week.) When my granddaughter stepped on the scale, she weighed exactly 42 pounds (The EXACT the same amount of weight I have lost so far) WOW....I have been carrying around a five year old this entire time....CRAZY!!
